RE: IPC Confusionposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
It would be 57, but it usually 55 since Philippines is captured.
US can’t attack turn 1 unless Japan attacked anything except China or France
No, the plane can’t be rebuilt
Did you meant 62 (57+5NO for holding Philippines) but 55 since Philippines are captured and -5 from NO, -2 for territory.

Do the Global Game Rules come with Europe?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I own Pacific and will buy Europe immediately however does it come with the global rules?
Does any one know any good places to preorder from? I’m down like a clown.

RE: IPC Confusionposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
So if the Philippines are captured that means Japan has started war then it can attack on turn one and they collect 55.
So lets say Japan attacks but fails to take Philippines then is it 57 + 5 for holding Philippines?
Thanks for helping clarify.

IPC Confusionposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
What is the starting US income as soon as US is drawn into war assuming it has all its original territories? Starting is 17 so does it goto 57? Should it get more money for holding Philippines etc etc.
Oh and can US can attack on Turn #1 if they choose? Sounds like Yes.
Can the Chinese US plane be rebuilt by the Chinese after its lost. (Flying Tigers).
Thanks,
We have been arguing about some of these things and if someone could clarify that would be great.

Axis and allies @ gametableonlineposted in Axis & Allies Spring 1942 Edition
Who here plays online at this place? http://www.gametableonline.com/.
I tried to play axis & allies revised (i’m guessing) and they want like $10 bucks to play multi-player. I guess its not a horrible deal if you got some friends you want to play across the states. I’m just curious if people here use it. The computer was easy I steam rolled him bad as axis. I’m sure its not much of an accomplishment.
There any other place you can play this game or the other variants?
thanks,

RE: Confused as *****posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
hi krieghund,
i have one of the milton bradley editions. i am curious to know the 3 different sets of rules. are the 3 rulesets available online. if not can you give me a synopsis of the rule changes.
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=ah/downloads
Here ya go this has d/l’s to a bunch of pdf’s. If i were you i would use the 1940AA rules or revised + add custom units (destroyers, cruisers. artillery ). Then depending on what you do end up doing i would get tech from AA50 or Tech from Revised. I nurf the tech from AA50 a bit. Like paratroopers.

RE: Confused as *****posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Thank You for clarifying. I guess I had the 86 version of Milton Bradly that got me hooked. Great game. The new 1940AA is great as well. The problem I had was with the small board space. Now hearing about this 1940 Pacific/Europe Union is simply amazing. I sure hope they get it right I’ll be playing/buying both for sure. It seems this Pacific version of the game is like $70 bucks everywhere I look was that the original price or is this game just inflated cause I’m late in buying a copy?
Thanks guys this forum has enlightened me so much about this game. Great stuff.

RE: Confused as *****posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940

So… There are so many versions of AA that i don’t know whats going on. Going through these forums it seems there there is a new pacific and Europe out that can be combined. That sounds great.
Are these the versions I need to buy to combine into one massively big game?

Rule Questionsposted in Axis & Allies Spring 1942 Edition
Submarines: Can they attack other subs without a destroyer? It seems like that is not a legal attack.
BlitzKrieg: Ok say you (German Player) have a front of 10 tanks in West Russia with 20 inf. Novosibirsk is unoccupied. The russians have a sizable force on Russia (territory) to defend your attack. So you send in 9 Tanks all your inf to attack. You win (as the G’s). Now can your 1 tank that hasn’t moved blitz through Russia (friendly zone now) and capture Novosibirsk as well?
I’m guessing that its not legal but we are trying to iron that out.
SO not sure if this is an retarded idea. However, we didn’t like subs not being able to attack other subs. So our rules of engagements are as follows. If you want to attack an enemy sub you first have to spot it. This is determined by rolling a 4 5 or 6. If you do spot it then you caught them by surprise on the surface. Then you can attack. However, the defending sub has an option to defend at “1” or try to submerge and disappear by rolling a 1 2 3. 50% chance vs defending at 16% chance. If the attack fails and the other sub doesn’t submerge successfully you repeat till the subs are destroyed or the defending sub evades. Of course the attacker can decide to retreat as well. I have an alternative rule but i figure i run this one by what do you guys think?

RE: The perfect game…posted in Axis & Allies Spring 1942 Edition
I believe the perfect game is one where everyone has a good time! What fun is it to work out the perfect formula that works 100 percent of the time. Or what fun is a perfectly balanced game where if everyone does everything 100 percent correct it always ends in a draw. If that is what we wanted, we would all spend 10 hours playing tic tac toe instead of AA. LOL. I am not that good, but getting better all the time and I ALWAYS enjoy playing and trying new things. Sometimes I have to be happy with my own personal victory instead of destroying my opponent. I can be very happy delaying the win of a superior opponent instead of falling to him in round 4-5. :) As long as there are dice rolls and human opponents we always have a chance to win and can ALWAYS choose to have a great time.
I second this notion. We added tech to the game as well for more variance. The fact that it can throw everything out of balance and new strategies have to be formed around the technology you have. We are using AA50 Tech trees. Can anyone say heavy bombers and paratroopers. Pretty sick.
Uhm, one thing i liked that we do as a standard was that bombers could be used as a transport. Only 1 friendly infantry and it can be dropped off into friendly spaces.

RE: Printing a large scale mapposted in Axis & Allies Spring 1942 Edition
Did you figure this out. I want a bigger map (not quite as big as you described) to play on. I hoping to do this without spending too much money. If i could print out all the pieces individually perhaps I could tape the map together and use that until I get some cash to buy a real nice map later. Yah its not nearly as nice but it would work.

RE: Noob Blindsindedposted in Axis & Allies Spring 1942 Edition
Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up finding the tech info from that AA50 rulebook and used that. I gotta say i’m very disappointed about the size of this board. Love the individual units being unique for each country but man does the board suck.
