I think this is a reason to support Italy with German, so that Italy get above 20 IPC and can take and keep Egypt. If Germany helps Italy with its air force to remove most UK troops in Africa or the Middle East then Italy can get strong.
This supports going to Moscow via the southern way.

I think building a naval base at Sz36 and maybe also a air base is a good idea. It allows you to move your forces fast between Japan and the south. ISo you can attack the US fleet, i the case that the US positions a fleet to take Japan in SZ6. But it is expensive.
Positioning your air force in Kwangtung also allows you to reach Japan and Sz6 without an air base while using your planes to attack Chinese ground forces.

Actually I always counter attacked with Russia, however I build art and planes. Defending was just to boring. Building tanks and mech seems to be better than art, because if the increased mobility.

How are you going to proceed, if Germany does not attack Russia on turn 1 and instead sets up a large stack and starts to move on G2 or G3? Would that affect the Red Blitz?

During on of my games the UK player moved 10 inf and some planes from India to Burma. I found that this put Japan in a difficult position. They could take India, but would not be able to hold it. this would mean having lost ground forces and needing to get new troops via transports. This takes a lot of time.

This would be a great strategy if it really takes out India on Turn 3. I think a lot of things have to go right (meaning Allies’ mistakes) for it to work. For an adjustment to the plan, 3 transports and 1 artillery (not troops) should be your J1 build. Also, in this plan do you DOW on the Western Allies on J2 in order to clear Allies’ blockers? Just one destroyer in SZ37 would critically hurt Japan as you just spent lots of money on Naval and Air Base (30 IPCs for bases. There will be no other money because you lost the 10 IPCs for not being at war with the US)
Also, how or when are you capturing a landing place for your planes from FIC? When I play the Axis, the Allies’ shove everything. Yunnan is stacked every round so that’s not a landing place. The only other landing places besides your 3 carriers (6 planes + 2 bombers = Maybe not enough planes) for your Airbase planes on FIC to land is Burma or Shan State. Again, I see a smart UK player denying both spots for planes to land.
Exactly that happened. Burma and yuanan were stacked. Blocking all landing points for me. I was also blocked.
Now China and the us have the North and I am toast.

Ok I killed now everything in Burma (which is even good if UKP retakes it, because it denies China 6 IPC) and Shan State. So far the combats went well. I build a fighter and minor IPC. I will let China come close to Hong Kong and then kill them with some ground force and my air force if they make the error of offering me a large stack.
As UKP is now unable to do much I will concentrate on the China threat and try to scare the US enough so that they won’t attack me.

The US left Europe thinking that russia and Uk are strong enough to hold out until the Pacific is safe. At least that is what I assume. Ok so I will kill everything and hope that not to many plane are destroyed. That sounds really good.
Maybe I was a bit to afraid to loose my airforce.

the motivation for building an FIC airbase was to be able to attack the US fleet with my aircraft, if they should move into SZ6.

Attacking is cool and more fun than defending.
Ok so my next move will be to kill all around me and go for Burma.

Well that had to do with some bad luck and underestimated China. My goal was to get India and the driver fast.
Ukp had 11 inf in Shan state until I managed to kill them last turn.

two people in our group say that you get better dice results, if you reload the game before each battle. And it looks like they are right. The random generator in TripleA seems not to be that random after all.
How do you set up a dice bot? We play by mail. What is the most easy way of doing this?

G40/Japan: China is killing meposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Hi all,
we are currently playing Axis and Allies Global 1940. I play Japan and we now have turn 4. I have DEI, Phillipines and Malysia. But China has Shanghai and is pushing hard in the north. They destroyed my IC in shanghai with some luck. I can’t get new ground forces from Japan onto the mainland due to the US thread. I need to merge my fleet to avoid the destruction by the US fleet. The US fleet sits at Carolines and is threatining Hong Kong, Malaysia and Japan. If I move my fleet to Japan than Hong Kong or Malaysia are lost. If I stay in the south China is conquering the North and getting stronger.
What can I do against China and the US? I have too few ground troops and if I conquer one territory I have problems to defend it, because I have to withdraw my planes.

Knowing some common strategies and their counters will be a good think. So that you can recognize them and be prepared. Hopefully that will lead to some more uncommon moves.

Strategies and plans will also vary depending on the meta environment. Do you always play with the same people? Do you play online or face-to-face?
I play online with a fixed group of friends and often strategies works that people normally define as unplayable. This is because people have certain playstyles and preferences. Due to a lack of time I make my complete move in 15-30 minutes. Looking at the map an deciding my strategy. Others spend a lot of time planning and playing and thus make less mistakes.
In our last game a G1 Dow worked pretty well, because it was so uncommon in out group that the allies did not know how to respond well. The same happened with our first J1 Dow, which was totally unexpected by the allies and won the game.
I think that Germany is much stronger and more dangerous to the allies than Japan. So I would say that the Allies should concentrate on Europe, because if you focus on Japan first and then Germany the game is lost.

That is a good advice and something nthat is missing in most strategy guides. I wish I had known this a bit earlier. That would have made my decisions easier and my game better.
