@pacifiersboard I’ll save most of my comments for after the game is done. But I will say that I don’t think German victory has been inevitable. Adam has a good chance of winning this next turn, as I’m sure you can see, but if he doesn’t, the long game definitely favours you.

I like the idea of including both dice and TUV and I think they would complement eachother. I haven’t downloaded it yet (waiting for the official update) but I am looking forward to using it. And thanks for doing the work of getting this started.
I would quibble a bit with how we read the bomber example. Apologies in advance if I am completely misunderstanding this, but … If all 10 bombers and the cruiser hit in the first round the TUV calculator would show that the defender beat the average TUV differential, whereas the dice would tell us that the attacker was very lucky. If only one bomber hit instead, the TUV would show the same but the dice would tell us that the attacker was very unlucky.
But in each case above (and in the example Gargantua gave), the outcome in game terms is exactly the same. A cruiser was destroyed which should happen 100% of the time and a bomber was destroyed which should happen 50% of the time. 1/10 is a terrible roll but not meaningfully unlucky when you only need 1 hit. 10/10 is a great roll but is not meaningfully lucky when you only need 1 hit. 0 hits is consequential but only if the cruiser gets a hit in the 2nd round.
Or suppose only 2 bombers hit and the cruiser misses, the hit differential would tell us that the attacker had very poor luck (missed 4.67 possible hits) and the defender had poor but better luck (only missed 0.5 hits). But the consequence in game terms is clearly worse for the defender than for the attacker.
While it appears that 10 dice have 11 outcomes (0 through 10 hits) in game terms, when there is only one opposed unit, there are only two meaningful outcomes. Either they get at least one successful roll or they don’t.
In individual battles, this is not a big deal since one should be able to understand the significance of the hit differential in the moment. But at game’s end, the cumulative count might produce a narrative of the game that is far removed from what actually happened. If one player had more rolls that beat the average where they could under-perform, it will appear that they got more hits. If the other player had more rolls that were below average, but sufficient to win the combat round, they would appear to have gotten fewer hits. It might then appear that one player was much luckier than the other, but in game terms that dice luck had no bearing on the game outcome.
A TUV differential helps correct this but is it possible to also get a hit differential count where inconsequential luck wasn’t included? If the hit differential doesn’t count rounds where both the expected and the actual number of hits exceeded the number of casualties, that would remove most of the inconsequential dice luck. And I think the remainder would be addressed if the combat differential only counted whichever number was smaller, the number of actual hits, or the number of actual casualties. If this could be done, it would get closer to a measure of only the dice luck that had game consequences and the number of hits above or below the expected hits would also equal real (rather than hypothetical) units saved or destroyed in the game.

@simon-tressel Guys everything seems to indicate that to play on the forum, we must all have the same version of TripleA, you can play directly on the Triple A server if you want but not on the forum, also if I have 2.5, I can’t get into the same servers as the player who has version 2.6 or 2.7 so to play you have to agree on which version to play, 2.6 and 2.7 are better but they are empty, nobody plays on them and 2.5 always has players playing.
There have been a lot of posts here so I might be missing some context. But while there may be some exceptions (and there is some flexibility built in to the league so people can play official league games in different formats), players in the league don’t normally play on the server and don’t play in real time. Instead we play by creating a game thread in the forum and then using the forum option to set up a game and post our turns to that thread. There are compatibility issues across different versions and one of the major issues iwth the older release, if I recall correctly, is that it was no longer able to post to the forum (but there was a work around). As long as folks either stick with the official release or install one of the newer pre-releases (doesn’t ahve to be exactly the same one) they should be able to make it work.
Because this is a thread for posting league game results, I’d also suggest moving this over to the general league discussion thread. And if there is a need to walk through setting up a game, just post a request there and I’m sure one of us can do that too.

I don’t know if I had a better solution to what you tried but when I was looking at it I thought you could still try to hold London. Stacking both 110 and London with all the units that could reach would mean Adam had to win 2 90% battles. Obviously he has a good chance at that, but I thought that was the best chance to stop him and of course even if he wins, its possible the cost of it may let you more easily recapture and hold it. Once he adjusted his German move to stack Yugo, I thought I would move the Soviets North so that you could threaten Poland and Germany. And I would have also done what you did which was threaten Italy with all the UK units in reach (apart from those that were needed in London.

@simon33 I don’t recall all the circumstances around the G2 Normandy attack. I think you are right that it didn’t help the axis ultimately, but I imagine Adam thought he would be in a position to hold it for longer and use it to deny allied landings.
If you are going to do 106, 110,111, he will definitely need that sub. The problem is that it means that the UK will scramble,likely trade for a few German air and maybe even lose those combats. He knows I’m going to scramble so has to consider that risk. If you don’t do 111 you avoid the scramble, and have a sub to spare. Those Brazil inf just make earlier US pressure on Europe a bit cheaper but that to me is useful. In practice, hitting that transport can mean the allies are often behind a turn relative to where they otherwise would have been.
I htought initially the extra inf in Yunnan would make him focus on that rather than 37. But taking that BB is valuable. It easily moves West to support the allies in Europe or joins the US fleet and makes a difference as a defensive unit. And he easily took India and pushed China back despite not attacking Yunnan. He did not lose this game in the Pacific.
The games I’ve won against Adam apart from this one were last year’s final, and one maybe 4 years ago.

@AndrewAAGamer On the Europe side, I thought you were really effective and efficient at putting maximum pressure on the Soviets. It meant that you had the option of going to smolensk to force me to retreat instead of attacking Bryansk. If the situation was better in the pacific, I thought you would not have gambled there… On that side, you were also very efficient at putting a tonne of pressure on India and were again quite efficient at getting a lot of Japanese land units available for the attack. It seemed to me that the the problem there was that that focus on getting India meant that you were not able to keep the US out. I think one alternative here might have been preparing for a slower capture of India, and just trying to maximize Japanese income early and keep the US on the outside.

@farmboy the game glitched on wake island. I didnt see dice, and no dice have appeared, but I just won the battle. I’ll roll dice in game for my inf and art at 2, 9 figs at 3, and 5 tacs at 4 and then roll for your 2 inf at 2.

that attack on South France wasn’t supposed to be a bombing raid but since I went through with, easiest to just leave it as it is.
