I think you right to have United States go to Pacific in game.  United States with full Pacific fleet, Japan buy no more ship, Japan lock in spend at least 18 IPC on land unit for Industrial Complex, and Japan lose 2 of 6 Fighter means good time to go Pacific.

United States start to take Islands quickly in that game even with 2 Battleship and 2 Aircraft Carrier for Japan.  He only have 1 big fight with fleet before he no longer have ship force in Pacific.

United Kingdom will have much work to do.  Will have to send land unit to Norway and to Algeria going back and forth each turn to hold Africa and keep Germany from focus on Russia.

I think game you describe would be fun game to play.

I think United States would have rely on long range Bomber and Submarine if Japan win at Midway.

Japan not able to attack United States direct so United States have safe zone on West Coast to build ship and attack Japan.  Hawaii would be main United States outpost in Pacific, with PBY to spot and B-25 and Submarine to sink Japan ship that try to move past Midway.

Nuclear Weapon still end Pacific War in 1945 even if second Doolittle raid required to get bomb in range.

You friend wrong about people in United States.  Around 200,000,000 during World War 2.  United States reach 300,000,000 last year.  Only China and India have 1,000,000,000 people and it not happen until way after World War 2.

If Germany not spend resource on Eastern Front, German Navy exceed United Kingdom Navy.  United Kingdom starve long before 1945.

I see this in games.  Germany problem is United States transport fleet in Sea Zone 12 not only move unit Eastern Canada to Algeria, it also can attack Southern Europe or Western Europe.  This make Germany defend Western Europe and Southern Europe against landing force of 8 or more land unit and keep Germany from attacking Russia strong.

I see first Star Trek recorded.  It was long series of special effects.  It pretty but it not really make film good.  Long trip into Voyager was many scenes that not advance movie.  Star Trek The Motion Picture was 30 minute movie with 2 hours of special effects scene that not mean much.

Star Trek movie are better than Star Wars as group.  First Star Trek was bad.  Star Trek II was very good.  More good Star Trek than bad.  I vote Star Trek.  Star Trek last longer than other series listed.  Start movies 25 years ago and new one coming in summer.  No other choice last so long.

Double IPC value of Non Capital Victory Cities to maximum 10 IPC value.  This give Axis extra 14 IPC and Allies extra 9 IPC.  Would get rid of bid and make Victory Cities more important. Make it so both player not want to trade Victory Cities but want to keep and hold.

Get rid of game play that not make historical sense like Russia abandoning Leningrad, United Kingdom abandoning India, and Germany abandoning Western Europe.  Would encourage United States to go to Pacific Ocean in most games.

New Victory City values:
Karelia S.S.R.:  4
Caucuses:  8
Western Europe:  10
Southern Europe:  10
Kwangtung:  6
Philippine Islands:  6

Idea might need other territory values reduce to keep Russia and Germany from too strong with extra income.  Maybe reduce IPC of Norway, Novosibirsk, Kazakh S.S.R. and Balkans by 1 IPC each.

With you rule, you need exception for capital.

9 Victory City is good rule.  I find that here rather then 8 or 10 in box rules and I like.  Allies, I guess people mean United States, grab the 9 Victory City in United States turn mean Axis not play well and leave opening for Allies.

Japan have India by Turn 4 and Allies not able to trade for many turns after.  That 1 Victory City to Axis.

Unless Germany or Japan fall which is game over Axis, Allies need Western Europe, Southern Europe, Philippines Islands and Kwangtung to have 9 Victory Cities.  If United States has moved into Pacific Ocean that they can take both Philippines Islands and Kwangtung from Japan in their turn then is not “snipe” is bad play by Axis player.

If Axis have only Germany, Japan, India to start turn, Germany in trouble and Japan is on defense.  United States have Pacific Fleet and Allies have control of Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea.  Allies also hold Karelia S.S.R.  Axis not win from that position unless Allies throw game or dice change game big way.  Is surrender for Axis.

It mark 1942.  Anniversary have 2 game for 1941 and 1942.

Is maybe only half of anniversary?

Will be cheaper than Anniversary?  I not buy Anniversary because to much money.  If new is cheaper I maybe buy.  People here say is nice but $100 is much money.  $50 I may buy game.

5 Infantry roll 5 dice for 2 for 10 total
3 Tank roll 3 dice for 3 for 9 total

Infantry defense have better roll then Tank.  You get more Infantry mean enemy must hit more to kill.  Both mean Infantry better defense.
