    • RE: Irony

I think that anyone should be able to own a gun in their home, but those who carry them in public should have to get a permit.

Maybe that’s partly true, but how fast is a King Tiger? Not fast. And it depends on the Crew and how experienced they are. A T-34 with a Veteran crew would beat a King Tiger with an Experienced or Green crew any day.

    • RE: Who was the best military strategist of the leaders of WWII?

Yes, Tojo was the leader of Japan’s military, but Hirohito was the Emperor. Also, none of those leaders are good strategists…Things often got screwed up when they intervened, ESPECIALLY with Hitler. For best Generals/Marshals though, I would have to go with Rommel, Zhukov, or Guderian. I like Guderian because he used to get in fights with Hitler all the time. He actually stood up to him at the table.

Um…whoever said that a Tiger could stop an entire armored division…I hope they aren’t serious…Because that’s a rather ludicrous thing to assert.

    • RE: Survey for May 2004

Sorry, I didn’t clarify. That rule applies to both the Revised Edition and to the Xeno Games World at War expansion. :)

Actually, now that I look, Did you guys even read my post? Cystic, and F_alk, it specifically says that those rules apply to the Revised edition. Maybe you should actually pay attention to what you read?

    • RE: National Advantages

Well, since we haven’t played Revised much, my friends and I haven’t used any advantages in the last couple games. Maybe next time we play though it would be a good idea to include a couple of them since they make the game more interesting.

Haha. Most of your strategies are unusable in the game, especially the revised edition. First of all, American and British units are not allowed on the same territory as Russian units. Secondly, for the revised edition, you are not allowed to occupy neutral countries. :)

But usually when Germany gets invaded when I play it is either from Western Europe or Eastern. I have never actually seen a direct invasion of Germany from Britain or Africa.

    • RE: Grand Theft Auto Vice City

I have it for PC. I like the game basically because of the free-roaming atmosphere. You don’t have to do missions if you don’t want. Plus I think the game is a good avenue for venting some built up stress. :)

Also, let’s not forget Xbox Live, which is a way better online gaming service than PS2 has. Xbox Live is one of the best things yet for gaming. :)

    • RE: My next choice….

My dad said that he used to play BattleCry with his friends, and he said it was awesome. I guess going by his reccomendation, that BattleCry would be the one to check out. I’m going to see if I can get him to buy it for me, since he might play it. :)

    • RE: Consoles

Haha. You’ve got that right. I hate the little controllers, they suck so much. The original is the best controller I’ve ever held. It fits perfectly in my hands, and all the buttons are in really good spots.

And the hard-drive is definitely a plus, it allows you to record music to listen to during some games, or whenever, and eliminates the need for memory cards. It also has a faster processor, (733mhz, as opposed to the PS2’s 266mhz, and the GameCube’s 405mhz), faster GPU, more memory, and many other things that make it a better machine.

Also, being that FPS is my favorite Genre of Console game, the XBox is the best one for me. It has the best library of FPS titles and other action games, such as Halo, Rainbow Six 3, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, Unreal 2, CounterStrike, and upcoming ones such as Halo 2(drool), Half-Life 2, and Doom 3.

I think XBox is the best, but I guess it is a matter of opinion. Just wait till the next console generation.

    • RE: Poll: Real-time or turn based?

For computer games I definitely prefer Real Time, because it’s alot more realistic and fun in my opinion. My favorite RTS of all time would have to be Empires: Dawn of the Modern World. Totally awesome games. The only turn based games I play on the computer are Robert E Lee: Civil War General, Risk 2, and Axis and Allies: Iron Blitz. All my other strategy games are Real Time, such as EDMW, StarCraft, Homeworld, Rise of Nations, AOE 1 and 2 plus Expansions, and Empire Earth. My favorite Genre of games is RTS, followed by FPS. I don’t think there’s anything like a good RTS, because it’s a thinking man’s game.

I do hate the fact, however, that the computer is capable of managing everything at once, while I can only do one thing at a time! That just makes it more of a challenge, though. :)

What I hate the most is when the computer cheats, such as unlimited money(AOE) or automatically knowing where you are without exploring(Starcraft).

      It’s all good, though. :)

    • RE: Revised Edition

I have the older version as well, but I never thought of combining the pieces. I think they give you a specific amount for a reason. I dont’ think it’s a big deal using the chips, although they are only intended for use with infantry and with tanks. Creating more units except for infantry and tanks using the chips is specifically against the rules.

    • RE: Heavy Bombers

Well, what I try to do is destroy the Western US before turn 6. The last game I played I got 3 Battleships, 2 Carriers, 1 destroyer, and 3 fighters in Western US. Then I can leave them there and build some transports to take it over. While I’m waiting I can do some stuff in mainland Asia, including China and Russia if it’s turn 6.

    • RE: Heavy Bombers

When I play Japan, I always attack Hawaii on first turn. I haven’t lost yet, either. Then, second turn you can move up to Western US which means the US can’t put ships in the pacific since it is an enemy occupied territory.
