As for the tactical bomber fig featuring a B-25 Mitchell or B-26 Marauder…  Well, it would allow the history geek to differentiate between the carrier dive bombers and the roll of medium bombers on land.  The Dauntless is similar enough in appearance to the Helldiver and Avenger that with AA50 Hellcats mixed in, there’d be quite a few grummany looking flying bathtubs if another prototypical US divebomber were mixed in.  Other options for tactical could be the P-39 as it had such a huge role in the pacific and was built around a 37mm cannon, but it was outclassed by pretty much everything as a fighter.  But if it’s going to just be another grumman carrier torp bomber, then I vote Avenger.

And as a US fighter, well, I’d like a mustang or a P-40.  The AA50 Hellcat looks enough like a P-47 for me.  And a P-40 would finally get an accurate Flying Tiger.

And absolutely, a DC-3 (C-47) skytrain for transport.

I would also love to see a B-24 piece, but I love the look of the B-29. It’s so art deco, which is also why I like the P-38.

B-26 would be great too for a TB, but a B-25 with the ability to “bring to bear 10 machine guns coming and four going, in addition to the 75 mm cannon, a brace of eight rockets and 3,000 lb (1,360 kg) of bombs.” would be awesome.  I think that the P-51 looks closer to the F6F then a P-47.  Don’t get me wrong I love the P-51, but I’d like to see something different like a P-47 or even a F4U Corsair.  Isn’t the tac bomber we have an Avenger?  A P-39 would be cool too, but that’s more of a fighter then a tac, I think a Dauntless or even a Devastator would be neat.

For the transport there is no question it has to be a C-47.

I agree with previous posters that this is one of the occurrences where WOTC got it right with the B-17’s, but for variety’s sake I vote for B-29’s.  If nothing else they could be used for the Long Range/Heavy Bombers Tech pieces for the USA.  Now if you’re talking US Fighters I vote for P-47’s, and I think that the B-25 would fill the more Tach Bomber Roll then a Strategic one.

I’m looking forward to seeing the Italian planes.

I got my 6 Japanese Tac Bombers and my new battle strip.  The Tac Bombers show signs of stress on the wings, but they aren’t bent. The battle board has very bad impressions from the tails and gear from the bombers.

I started playing 2nd Ed. probably in 2000 or so, when I could find someone to play with.  Then I got a copy of Europe, and loved playing it.  One of my friends had picked up a copy of Revised and we had a session and I couldn’t go back to 2nd Edition so I picked up a copy and have since played the crap out of it.  I eventually got a copy of Pacific and have only played 2 or 3 games of it and didn’t really care for it.  Somewhere along the line I got a copy of D-Day and love it for quick games.  I bought anniversary on day one and only recently have switched over to playing Pacific 1940, which is great now that we have sorted most of the wrinkles out.

So mainly I play A&A50 and A&AP40.  I am looking forward to Europe 1940 and the World Game of 1940 when that comes out.

Actually, in the project thread (dedicated solely to updates and not our aimless banter) it states that they’re hoping to do it for $60 for the complete set, not per country.

So even if it is more … definitely worth considering for the quality!

Thanks for the clarifying.  I was just thinking about how much money it was going to cost to get this all done and thinking that if it was $60ish for an entire set for the six countries, that would make it $10ish for an individual country and that just didn’t seem right.

Once again, just let me reiterate what everyone else on this board has said by saying Thank you FMG!  I have a set of the dice and they are great.  They let us stop using our “cursed” dice, don’t ask.

I can’t discuss price yet as I am not sure what my total cost will be once complete.  I think it is going to be more than the $60 I guesstemated a year a go….

Will the “more than $60”*  be for the entire set of all countries or will it be “more then $60”* for each country individually?  Regardless I will be getting at least one set if not more.

*Used because the price isn’t known yet.

I got a response from them today saying that they just started shipping them out, and that I should receive mine in 2-4 weeks.  Yay!  Although the waiting won’t be fun.

Very nice.  I’ve already used your National Production Chart, putting the NO’s at the bottom was a brilliant idea.  I will have to get the Battle Board, because the two small cardboard strips supplied just don’t cut it.  I am anxiously waiting to see your finished set up charts!
