I like it, like they make many versions which is cool. At first it’s strategic, but if you ever play Axis and Allies risk will be never be strategic again as strategic again.

GCNL is by no means the worst game if there was even such a thing as ‘worst A&A game.’
well i like your answer the best, but I still rather play Bulge or D-Day

RE: Miracle or Good Strategy?posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Sounds like this game lasted way too long. If ANZAC is moving infantry into India and taking Indo-China then Japan is already defeated. Start a new game! @Dylan:
I was the Allies and won that was cool, but I need to know if it was good luck of good strategy. It started off with China trading the Burma road or whatever and China holding the front line at any cost. Then when the other 3 declared war Britain assisted China as much as possible and the US in Manila and the Australian’s knocked out the Japanese in the Southern Pacific and the US in the rest. Australia then transported whatever they could into India. Australia had as much troops as they could now into India they captured French Indo China built a Minor industry and knocked the Japanese out of Asia and captured Korea with a minor industry. The bored Chinese army kept reinforcing the Pacific Asian border and helped Australia hold Korea along with Britain. Britain started bombing Japan while Australia worked on a massive fleet. Australia then lost in a failed attack to knock out the Japanese fleet. The US then finished Japan’s fleet off. the United States and Australia now were reinforcing Korea while Britain reinforced Shanghai and India. The US then started daily bombings on Tokyo, soon assisted by Australia. Britain left Asia because there were enough Chinese stranded they went to Okinawa to land there troops. Japan were weakened enough Britain attacked it with a few planes and failed. Australia then killed a lot of it, but then the US stole the show.
I did start a new game and India fell right away China kept on fighting at all costs and the US player way doing okay, but ANZAC was crushed and the US and Japan had a huge navy battle both had heavy casualties, but the US won. China then made a do or die move which was die (of course) and the US lost Alaska and Yukon. I felt like I couldn’t lose British Columbia (because I live there), but got assraped and Western USA wasn’t able to hold out which they were able to send in full army at Hawaii. :-(

RE: India - The biggest mistake in the game.posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Yes, it’s inaccurate, but so is Japan having that many planes. They make the allies weaker and the axis stronger so both sides have a chance, unlike in reality.
But the Axis almost did win the war the just… didn’t

RE: Plans for global?posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
For Japan I think you should go after ANZAC and just start killing the Chinese and start bombing India.

Okay well it looks like none of these will ever be in an Axis and Allies. Oh well
All these countries are in the game, they are just not seperate powers.
okay i guess i wasn’t specific enough i meant a power, but i read somewhere that Finland and Hungary were pro Axis

RE: Bad News, Good News… How about ANY News!posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
Id like to see 12 victory cities
Washington
Ottawa
London
Paris
Berlin
Warsaw
Rome
Lenningrad
Stalingrad
Moscow
Cairo
BucharestMaking the global game total 20, The axis needing to take 14 for a minor victory, 16 for a major victory and 18 for a crushing defeat
Id also like to see a rule that if London is taken, ANZAC and Canada continue to operate normaly
Nice thinking i would choose
1. New York - USA
2. Toronto - UK/Canada
3. London - UK
4. Cairo - UK
5. Rome - Italy
6. Berlin - Germany
7. Paris - France
8. Moscow - USSR
9. Tripoli - Italy
10. Leningrad or Stalingrad - USSR
11. Warsaw - Germany
12. Dunkirk - France
13. Chicago - USA
14. Some other place? (I know thats 14) -

Actually, personally I’ve never had a problem with the idea of Ottawa being a VC.
It’s an absolute pain to capture sure but… realistically what else would have made the US throw in the towel?
Cairo? Not to say Cairo shouldn’t be a VC but c’mon comparing the strategic impact… one you’re losing sleep about oil field IPCs and the Suez but the other… man you might as well start checking Amazon.com for discount English-German dictionaries!

Meh, gives more reasons for the Allies to put troops in the center of the board rather than exist on the fringes… The US still had awesome production advantages but if you’d have cut the Middle Eastern oil supplies to the Allies it should be reflected somehow in game. Canada? How in hell are the Axis realistically supposed to take and hold that for a turn? You got both Britain and the US right there. Canada should not be the final say on how a game ends… “With the seizure of Ottawa, the Allied powers have conceded to the military superiority of the Axis powers and have declared a ceasefire…” Right.
build industries in Alaska and Brazil (Japan and Italy) and take UK first then the US are alone to defend Ottawa

RE: Permanent?posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
@Frontovik:
always wanted an eastern front map
actually, the eastern front at the big world 1942 map of tripleA is quite good
but they should add 2 cities then: smolensk and kiev between ukraine-southern russia en belorussia-west russiaIf that was gonna happen do you think it would be Germany and the Soviet Union or do you think that perhaps Finland or Hungary or something in it?

RE: Miracle or Good Strategy?posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
It’s also unclear whether Japan declared war on the US or Britain first, or if the UK moved into china before Japan declared war, in which case all three could not declare war at the same time: The US would not be able to declare war until combat move of fourth turn or Japan attacked them. The US can’t just up and decide to get in the war.
It was after turn 3

Maybe the famous Blitzkrieng (I know thats not spelled right,) or para troops

RE: Permanent?posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
I was more wondering for future games will these guys be in it
my guess is this will be the last global game for a long time. the next will be a series of smaller scale battles, much like D-Day or Battle of the Bulge. It will depend on the battle which countries will be involved
Well they will be cheaper most likely, so newer fans can start to build an Axis and Allies library, of which mine is Spring 1942 and soon Battle of the Bulge, but I have played most of them online or in real life

So i guess Canada is not a power
No. It’s officially been ruled out and there wasn’t much hope for it anyway.
Will the other Canadian Provinces/Territories still have a Canadian logo or will they just replace it with a British logo or do you think Canada will have some unites in British control. or should i just deal with it that Canada are just screwed from the game
If you want to find out about the Canadian situation, check out one of the threads about Canada. This one will probably be best for what you’re asking right now. http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=17683.90
Wow I think we should just wait until it comes to see what happens in Canada. In summer it will happen the epic war will start

Is this the worse game?posted in Axis & Allies Guadalcanal
It’s okay, but still. Like the 1st and 2nd edition are classics. Revised, a more realistic map, D-Day a good battle Battle of the bulge a better battle Pacific and Europe more advanced maps Spring 1942 a better version of the Revised, Don’t even question the 50AAE and Pacific 1940 is just awesome. This is like just taking islands, like if you prefer islands hopping you might like this better then D-Day and Bulge, but who prefers that other then your idiot friends who plays the US every game.
Nahh just kidding the US are pretty good, but still
