      What failed miserably however, was the advent of movement counters that were supposed to follow your aircraft pieces.  What a waste of time and resources.  In 500 games I’ve never seen them used.

      I always use them to mark how many movement points are left on my air move after combat.

      A declaration of war step in the sequence of play right before combat moves might have been a good idea with the exception being the US Automatic DOW.

      Thanks for the quick reply. I think the rules should be errated as follows:
      Page 14 under Strategic Bombing, 2nd paragraph,2nd sentence should read. Escort fighters can escort and protect the bombers and they can originate from any territory and carrier.

      Also, Page 12 under Air Units 2nd para, last sentence should read:
      Fighters or tactical bombers can move their full four spaces to attack in a sea zone instead of saving movement, but only if carriers  with sufficient basing capacity for all attacking planes could be there for them to land on by the conclusion of the Mobilization phase.
      I my game Japan wants to attack the US feet in the Line Islands on j2 with 15 fighters and TB but can get only 1 carrier there to land on. So only 2 can move there and attack.

      I agree, this game has a lot of options and improvments over the old Pacific game, which was well liked.

    • Some questions

      1. Say a player moves 12 fighters from a land base without a port four spaces to attack enemy ships, but he can only get 1 carrier to that sea zone for landing and there is no friendly island. Can the player move all 12 fighters or just 2?
      2.Under strat bombing - can fighters escort from a carrier? The rules specify territory.
      3. Can US get NO for Okinawa, Iwo if UK or ANZAC take control?
