      @Gargantua said in My Body Is Ready:
      I would encourage the dev team to code a general profile setting AND an option during NCM to custom set OOL (order of loss) for any given territory, outside of the basic parameters.

      quoting myself for Djensen’s benefit :)

      And my intent was as others have noted. NOT a mandatory prompt, a right click on a territory or SZ during NCM, OR it could a prompt just AFTER placement which could have a SKIP option. And the information will be SECRET. The attacker will not know their opponents OOL intentions.

      Talking Technology here…

      Air D.O.T.s:

      Somebody already brought this up. This does technology imply that you may initiate (start) a combat without any land units on your side and then have that extra round of combat? Or does this technology only apply if you start combat while having land units present?

      If it is the former (you can start combat with no land units on your side) then this technology seems to be rather powerful… What do others think? Any official word on this?

      @655321
      If you read this thread you’d fine that the short version of my verdict on the game was:

      fun has balance issues for competitive play

      So you’re in good company here. Most of the haters are over on the G40 board.

      @Kreuzfeld:

      CVs are good. However, the reason DDs are bad, isn’t that it is a “bad” combatship if you plan on attacking. It is just that the TTs really are good combatships in the game. You will  usually have enough heavy ships surviving the first turn. Those ships combined with TTs will be enough to stop the luftwaffe. The TTs really are great combatships in this game. (seriously)

      I understand that TTs are the best ship economy-wise, but I believe that a CV may be an extremely cost-efficient buy for the first turn only (because you have the two FTRs in UK that can land on the carrier no problem).  Later in the game the CV would become extremely cost-inefficient, of course (you’re paying 16 for a 1 HP 3 DEF when you could be spending that same 16 IPC for 2 HP of 1 DEF that can also transport units).

      @Kreuzfeld:

      I usually land in africa until my pacific fleet makes it to the atlantic. then I split and send uk into norway and start landing in the americans in europe the round after that.

      Do you advocate sending the Indian Fleet south?  What do you do about the TT in SZ59?  When I used to play Revised/42/42SE I always remember going out of my way to eliminate it (as forcing Japan to buy more TTs is a good way to buy the allies precious time).

      Finally posting after lurking for almost a decade now.  Hi everyone.

      There’s going to be a Revised (2004 Edition) tournament at the WBC tournament this year (It’s an annual boardgaming/wargaming tournament/convention.  They typically play Avalon Hill and GMT games.).

      The tournament is going to be from Friday, July 21 (Preliminaries) until Saturday, July 22 (Semifinals/Finals).  The convention itself is continuing for the rest of the week (July 22-30).
      The format uses a unique ruleset to make the game playable in a limited amount of time.  I can post the rules if you’re interested.

      Link(s) to Event Website:
      boardgamers.org (Can’t actually post links but you get the idea.  A search of “World Boardgaming Championships” will take you to the page as well)

      Ruleset:
      @WBC:

      Time Limit: 4:30 hrs Standard Bidding.

      Adjudication System-
      The determination of who wins a tournament game will be based upon the control of Victory Territories (VTs). The Victory City method of determining a winner will NOT be used. Each side controls 12 Victory Territories at the beginning of the game. The Victory Territories are listed below.

      AXIS POWERS
      GERMANY
      Germany
      Western Europe
      Southern Europe
      Eastern Europe
      Ukraine SSR
      Norway

      JAPAN
      Japan
      Manchuria
      French Indochina
      Philippine Islands
      East Indies
      Borneo

      ALLIED POWERS
      USSR
      Russia
      Caucasus
      Archangel
      Novosibirsk

      UK
      United Kingdom
      India
      Anglo-Egypt
      Australia

      USA
      Eastern US
      Western US
      Hawaiian Islands
      Sinkiang

      If a player holds 18 (or more) VTs for a full round of game play (From the end of a country’s turn to the beginning of that same country’s next turn.), then that player automatically wins the game.

      In the event of a VT tie at the end of the game, whichever side increased its IPC total is the winner. If the game is still tied after reviewing the IPC totals, then the GM will make a determination of the winner based upon the game situation at the time the game ended.

      If a player chooses to concede a game before it has reached the 18 VT automatic win threshold or the game time limit (4.5 hrs), a default score of 19 VTs and +30 IPCs will be awarded to the winner.

      GM (Tournament Organizer.  He can answer any questions better than I can probably) : Craig Yope (NOT ME)
      I don’t know the rules for sending email addresses out, so I’d have to PM it to anyone who’s interested.
