@VictoryFirst As I’ve said to TGC in private chats, I am still very much of the impression that the game is massively pro-Axis. I just think that the changes to the setup are (potentially) fewer and need to focus more on the Med/Atlantic than the eastern front. More games will help 100% determine that, though.

@VictoryFirst Caveat to what’s being said here: UK buying Fighters in addition to buying enough navy to not get wiped by the German airforce proved unrealistic during testing. I tried a variant of that (a mix of US/UK Fighters/Carriers) before moving on to what I’m doing now.

@SuperbattleshipYamato Yeah after taking a crash course/refresher on what went down during the interwar period in the Pacific it’s crazy to think that with some tweaking Japan and a version of China could have wound up as BFFs instead of arch-enemies.
In most history classes in the US the European side of things gets covered in detail (well only post 1933. H-Man’s rise is usually just handwaved as "evil man came out of NOWHERE and TOOK OVER German FOR NO REASON). Japan is typically just portrayed as an opportunistic backstabber of a country that was bullying China, who was facing internal divisions for vaguely explained reasons.

Other thoughts while waiting;

The 4 extra Soviet INF off the bid (instead of the naval placement I tried last game) makes a world of difference when doing numbers-crunching. After losing the last game we did, I went back and checked what would have happened if Moscow had +4 INF, the % would have shifted to something like 6X% German-favored instead of the ~90% result we got.

I tried comparing the Germany Vs. USA income spread for this game but it didn’t add up. Germany actually pulled in more money this game Vs. the previous one (probably from nabbing Caucasus a few times). Furthermore, USSR’s income was net lower as well.
Basically, I have no clue what happened. It may just be the alternate bid placement for Soviets but I suspect there’s something going on with the margins units lost during minor trades along the eastern front. You might want to do a deep dive on what exactly went on here after the game is over.
