The website is back up and it should have now have a 99% up time. Much hardware on the server was replaced and a backup failover server was setup.

      Sorry about the downtime.

Sorry about the downtime everybody. Every once in a while the server mysteriously dies and it takes several hours to get it back online.

      Thanks for understanding.

I have just recently setup avatars on the website. An avatar in an image that appears just below your name on the left hand side of your posted message.

Currently, there are not many avatars and they are not very good.

I’m looking for Axis & Allies themed avatars so if you would like to make some cool avatars for yourself and others, the max image size is 60x60. Then just zip and send your images to webmaster@axisandallies.org and send me a private message that you have sent me some avatars.

      To choose an avatar…

Click on the Profile link in the upper right corner of the page.

Scroll to the bottom of the page.

      Click the “Show Gallery” button.

Choose a category from the “Select category” drop down menu and press the “Go” buton.

Click the radio button of the avatar you want.

Scroll to the bottom and click “Select Avatar”

Important: On the profile page scroll to the bottom and click “Submit”

      To “delete” your avatar …

Click on the Profile link in the upper right corner of the page.

Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Check the “Delete Image” checkbox. (Note: this will not permanently delete the image from the website, it will still be there for later use).

      Click the “Submit” button

Well, if your local video store doesn’t have it, then by all means, go ahead! More power to ya.

However, for a working Joe like me, I just try to support local industry a much as I can. I’ll even foot the tab if the Chain Store sells it at a lower price, unless as the difference isn’t too radical. (like when I bought my second copy of A&A for $20 cheaper online than if I had bought it at my local hobby store)

It seems that the IP address of the server changed Tuesday night and I didn’t find out until last night. So I updated DNS and everything seems to be working this morning. It may take longer for the change to affect some people but they won’t be able to read this until that happens anyway.

      Sorry about the mixup everybody.

Be sure to search for the state or city as well as cities near you. When you get results in the search, reply to them even if they are old. We have folks that have been on here since 2002 and they’re still active.

      To All “Anonymous” Posters,

Can you do one of two things for us. Either register for a username (the email address requirement is only used for forgotten passwords) OR manually type in a signature at the end of your post.

We just need a way to distinguish between the different Anonymous posters especially within a single topic.

      Thanks.

now that i’ve played a few times since the last comment, a sub in the atlantic helps germany alot, since it allows you to clear all their ships, and take the most valuable convoys on turn one with at least 8 subs left over (usually more) although saving isn’t bad too. Otherwise put artillary in poland for the initial strafe. Bids in africa are a waste.

as allies, i’m thinking that adding armor and infantry to russia is good (allies get usually 24 ipcs because of the bid) This alllows russia to take finland and then norway. This is important because it allows the allies to fly fighters to norway which is good! also boosts the russian income. Allies have a lot of options because of the large ipc’s they are able to place.

Well a number for a Anonymous poster is strange, since it contridicts the philiopshy behind Anonymous posting.

Oh and just a question, how many of you were Anonymous posters before becoming regulars? I use to post Anonymously a lot before finally signing up.
