The FAQ has been updated for Contested Skies. Apparently the addition of airplanes has thrown a wrench in some of the existing rules and abilities.

I guess my challenge would be getting used to those maps again.

I was thinking of lettered columns and numbered rows, like battleship. Use the facing as described above. Counting movements should not be a prob. I think a code chart for unit shorthand would be wise too, to speed the play.

I doesn’t feel like the scenario or even the A&A mini game itself was play tested very much.  I hope for set 3 they make a new starter pack with revised rules.

You’re probably right about the scenario not being play tested much. As for the game, I’m sure it was play tested a lot but with the wrong focus in mind. Play testing probably involved:

Play testers that are more used to play testing board games like Axis & Allies.

Play testing with the minimum age limit in mind. Keep it simple and “fun” for the kids.

I have heard that they didn’t expect the target market for this game to be older both in age and maturity (Some teenagers are just more mature and adult than others).

But it takes a while to fix things like this in a fast releasing collectible miniatures game.

Has anybody finished any repaints? If so, please post the pictures. I’m sure all of us would like to see them.

Yeah, unless you’re in the only cover hex for ways around, it can be a problem. I usually only use them  as I would a turretless vehicle tho. Rarely do I need a 360 vantage.

Off topic for a second, but you know what would really be cool? An online live dice roller so people could play this table-top game long distance. Kind of like the old postal space battles a friend of mine used to play. When I trade posts on this stuff I wind up wanting to play the people I post with…so few people play this game… :-(

Oh man got one of the best boosters, got the bofors, the zero, the MGC (freakin tight anti-tank-tank), SS Stormtrooper, german stug III, ummm and some other sweet shit like the jap armored truck, the only shitty thing i got was the american observing jeep, lol, it blows. PEACE
