I would like to do an article for the website about folks that have created custom maps for playing any version of Axis & Allies. I would like pictures and instructions on how to get it done. It can be anything from the vinyl rollup maps, which seem to be popular, to custom painted maps.

      ?

I would be happy to pay $30 for a nice polo (short sleeved, preferably with pocket but not required, and in a dark or earth tone color).  Embroidered rather than decal or screen print (embroidery is now actually pretty cheap, for small chest emblems it is usually cheaper than screen print)

Just let me see a pic in advance, and give me an addy to send my check.

Barbarossa was started too late to get the job done by the onset of winter, but they had to wait for the rains to let up and the dirt roads to dry out anyway. that pretty well covers the "too damned BIG " part of the problem.

      O

It would be nice if game-specific articles metioned the particular game in the subject. Ie “[AA50] Russian Far East tactics” or “[Revised] German opening moves”

Hey Djensen, checked back in and noticed this… I use BGG to decide what games I should purchase on my limited gaming budget. The thing that makes the site is the people who contribute loads of feedback on games and what you will enjoy based on your preferences, but like Yanny said, it is one clunky place to navigate. I particularly don’t like the geeklist navigation where it always jumps you back to page top…

      That’s my 2 cents…

I have several copies of CotE. I got them to play miniatures with. Painted up and all the figures and paced them on multiple stands as cohorts.
The game was lacking special events, so we made up some cards. Gothic invasion- retreat all army units from Gaul, Vesuvius erupts- lose 1/2 units in southern Italy, Plauge in Athens- troops in Greece are decimated- lose 1/2 your force there. There were good cards too, like, Good harvest-gain 5 gold! Deplomacy- no one can attack you this turn, as long as you don’t attack anyone else.
It really livened up the game and cold put the brakes on someones steam-roller invasions. I liked it alot myself. I am tempted to get the newer version soon.
Played FA back in the 80s’ too, but didn’t like it as much as AA.
Shogun is a great multiplayer game due to the deplomacy. Had to paint those armies too.
Also had that Bucaneer game for awhile. Couldn’t get anyone to play it though, so I traded it for another CotE game, More cohorts!

I actually thought that I was buying Cities and Knights, but like an idiot bought the 5-6 player C/K expansion instead. It’s next on my list.

I’d have a lot of fun contributing to a Settlers website. I don’t play much A&A anymore (college and all), but I do play a lot of Settlers, Atlantic Storm, and Illuminati.

All Axis & Allies games. Some American Civil War games. Also Railroad Tycoon. No time or players for any others. I thought that I would like online versions of AA but the commitment to others that I do not know is awkward. I feel bad if I start and then have to leave before the game is over. If its someone that I know then we can always save and continue later. I am involved with this forum only.
