      @F_alk:

      Maybe fight before turn 5 ? That would bring back some counters at least :) :)

      :lol:
      Yeah, have you done any battles by turn 5? What’s your situation like by turn 5, usually? Are the Axis and Allies economies more or less balanced? Open things up with UK, Japan and/or US to break the stalemate. :D

      You can have as many chips under the plastic units as you want. If you run out of chips you can use anything as substitute (using the flag marker is a good idea).
      However, the number of groups of units is limited by the number plastic units, but not the number of units per group. For example, you can have at most 2 stacks of bomber, unless you buy another set of plastic units.

      Use the Indian TRN to counterattack Egypt from India if it’s taken. Or take INFs from Egypt and Syria to reinforce Indian IC (if built). The Indian IC must be built in UK1 and needs to be reinforced right away. The Aus INFs are too far for that purpose.

      What a mess! :D
      Russia bought a factory? That’s unheard of. :o

      I’ve done incredibly well with Japan

      Well…not really. :roll:
      The good news is UK and US cannot really hurt you without any transport (they have a total of 1 from what you wrote :lol: ). So for now you’re only fighting Russia (an unusually powerful Russia) until UK and US wakes up.
      The Axis need infantry, and lots of them.
      Here is what I’ll do (but I’m afraid it’s a lost cause):
      Germany:
      Not much can be done. Use bomber to take out the UK transport (might tip him/her off but do it anyway). Then SBR Russian until it’s lost. Pull back into Germany except 1 INF each on WEu and SEu. Strafe when possible. Otherwise do nothing but SBR until Japan comes to your rescue.
      Japan:
      Turn 1:
      Pull all your navy (except those in FIC) back to Japan sz. Buy 1 transport and the rest INFs per turn until at least 5 transport in Japan sz. Attack Egypt with 2 INFs and navy from FIC and FTR from India. Move 2 Kwangtung and 4 Japan INFs to Man. Move all tanks to China and/or Man if Singkiang is not taken. Move India tank to Kwangtung if it is. Fly Japan FTR to FIC. Put INFs in FIC and Singkiang (if not taken) and the rest in Japan. Need some good dice to take Egypt.
      Turn 2:
      Buy trans/infs. Hit Yakut with everything if it has no AA. Otherwise pull back from SFE except for 1 Inf. Retake India from FIC and/or Ftrs. Retake China/Kwangtung from Man. as needed if not attacking Yakut. Have fun in Africa while you can. Don’t risk Ftrs against AA. Don’t forget to put 2 Infs in Egypt to possibly attack Kazakh and Caucause from Persia. Put the Red Sea navy back to Japan. Park your planes on ACs until they’re needed further inland or on land defence.

      With little UK and US help Germany should hold out for a while. Play cautiously with Japan. If Japan survives the US naval attack then there is hope. :D

    • RE: Placing new naval units

      P. 19 2nd edition rules:
      “When units of the same alliance are in the same territory or sea zone, a Multi-Player Force is said to be present. Such forces can defend together–they CANNOT attack together.
      Attacking separately–when units of the same alliance in the same space wish to attack, each attacker fires his or her own units and does so no his or her own turn.”
      I don’t know 3rd edition rules and as you stated 2nd edition allows “naval occupation”. But unless the above rule is change in 3rd edition, it should apply to your situation.
      @Ozone27:

      Which brings us to a conundrum I haven’t yet solved. Say you place new naval units onto an enemy-occupied SZ. Now what if on your ally’s turn, he or she attacks the enemy units in said SZ? Are your units allowed to join the fight as an “allied force”, or are your units considered to be “not involved”? I’ve always wondered about this…

    • RE: Techs???

      Yes, no new ICs helps the Axis by removing the Kill Japan First option if that’s the Allies style.

    • RE: Attacking sub withdrawl after a naval victory?

      P. 17 2nd edition rules:
      Submarine “can withdraw from a battle after ANY round of firing”.
      I guess that includes the last round. :o

    • RE: Kamikazi fighters

      Since the planes could have landed on the carrier after the battle if you have not remove it as a casualty, the attack is legal and it’s not considered kamikazi. However, if the planes have no legal way to land after the battle in non-combat movement, they are lost.

      @TG:

      But who’s the guy with the blackbeard that carries that huge sword again? I forgot his name… :(

      I think you’re talking about Guan Yu. Lui Bei, Zhang Fei and Guan Yu are sworn-brothers.
      Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Zhao Yun, Ma Chao and Huang Zhong are known as the Five Tigers. They are the strongest all around generals in the game. Lu Bu has the highest strength of all, but very low intelligent and charisma. I bet you already know that. :D

    • RE: Techs???

      @Guest:

      You wouldn’t be able to do this on the pc, but you could give Japan two hit battleships. They did have the largest battleships ever built. Not that it would really make a damn bit of difference in the long run.

      Yes giving 2HBB only to Japan does give Japan a much needed advantage (to do Pearl) without making the UK navy hard to kill, but I’ve to still play with RR though. I can play w/o ax ad but RR is a must.

    • RE: Techs???

      @Inxduk:

      the cd doesn’t let you roll more than 6 at a time. Is this a real rule? could usa roll 7 the first and second turns?

      In the 2nd edition rules, you can “buy as many as you wish”. I don’t know if that’s true in 3rd edition…
      @Inxduk:

      if usa get’s unlucky, it’s over, but with luck…

      Exactly! Depending on the luck of the dice to win is lazy. :D
      @Inxduk:

      what about instead of rr or bid or aa, give germany supersubs and rockets. This would be historically accurate. Then germany would fight for the right to tek, since the odds are really good.

      I think the Axis is hurt too much w/o rr. Besides does Japan get anything?

    • RE: What to do with Japanese transport in Indian Ocean?

      Take the transport to Africa and make some quick bucks while you can. Australia can wait. The Japan SZ will have 5 or more transports in no time anyway. Your Pearl fleet should rendezvous with the African transport ASAP. But if US rebuilds its Pacific fleet, park them in the Japan SZ.

      FYI:
      Ch’in defeated Ch’i, Ch’u, Yen, Han, Chao and Wei, and ruled from 221BC-206BC. Someone should make a game out of it. Now I see where the name China comes from. :roll:

      Xi, should we start calling you Ch’i? :wink:
