When you get bored with 2nd ed, buy Revised. After you buy revised the old game will gather dust.

RE: Rommel, 12th SS and Normandyposted in World War II History
I think Rommel had a lot of ideas that would have made things harder, but of the five beach heads all were successful, that has to tell you something. If the odds were even enough to be shifted the other way by the move ment of one division, you’d think at least one of the landings would have failed. Hitlerjugend has a tough division but they weren’t that tough.
Romulus: Hell yeah, those Sven Hassel books are awesome. I was a Corporal in the army for a couple years and used to call myself the fuhrers finest Corporal… no one realy got it…
btw I’m moving this to the History forum

RE: UK Pacific Fleet Unificationposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I saw a guy in a game move the entire indian fleet AC,DD,Ftr,Trn to the Kwang Transport. He lost it all on J1, but in doing so forced the Japs to unite most of their fleet in Kwang and the Aus fleet ended up joining the Pearl fleet anong with the San Deigo Fleet. I don’t know if it’s worth the sacrifice and I don’t think I’d do it, but the guy had balls anyway…

Yeah, the Poles major contribution to the effort ended up being a distraction for a few days. I think I rememeber reading that like 8 of the Polish made it out with out being captured or killed.

@cystic:
I certainly do hope you have the time and ability to return (and not b/c you are laid up in a hospital or something). Maybe you’ll make that trip to Manitoba yet. Frood and i will be waiting with real beer.
I will make it to Manitoba and preferably before I’m too old to enjoy it.
@LT04:Well I wish you good luck. May the force be with you.
LT
My dog tags say “Jedi” I’m covered
I don’t know that this counts for much but it is all I got.
I would find it disagreeable to hear you didn’t make it back intact in mind and body. Thanks for serving.
It counts for me, Don’t worry too much about my mind it’s not completely intact as it is.

RE: Arnhem and air-dropped Artilleryposted in World War II History
@LT04:
Was Arnhem the 82nd, 101st or the British 6th’s set of bridges?
LT
Arnham was the British Objective, the 101st landed near Eindhoven and the 82nd landed near Nijmegen
The 101st was closest to XXX corp and the british were at the “bridge to far”

I would say when you consider the number of actual guns with the number of actual men you might have been a bit heavy, but there is a base for it…

lol, I think it’s Bravery mixed with gulibility:
“Don’t worry fellas XXX corp will be there in two days, plenty of time to relieve you.”
I know they were resupplied by air a couple times, so maybe they got more ammo, but I read that the usual trailer for ammo wouldn’t fit in the glider so they were limited to the amount of ammo they could cram in the jeep. I supose when the ammo for the gun ran out they became under equiped Infantry…

RE: What do you keep your pieces in?posted in Player Help
I have plano boxes in a canvas bag, 5 large boxes one for each player and two smaller boxes for ICs, AAA, dice, chips etc. I have a revised set an original set, a world at war set and a War Game set. It’s been along time since I ran out of Chips ;)
My mini’s are in larger Plano boxes 1 for each country with a box of mixed small nations and Germany and the US have two boxes, altogether ten boxes I think…
