    • RE: Battleground Europe: WWII Online

      @Gewehr:

      I was curous if anyone here has played this game.

      http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=wwii+online&search_type=&aq=1&oq=wwii+

      This game is crazy, it’s like real war(A&A down to the soilder). You can be a bomber, fighter, sniper, tank, AT gun, AA gun, sniper, parachuter, ship, average soilder, mortor and artilery crew, ect, in any fleet, squadren or division. Everything and anything while fighting through every single inch of Europe on one big virtual map. Theres supply lines, production, key capture points. Best of all and unlike other games, you can’t win on your own, you need teamwork. Only bad part though, is the fact that theres a perscription. It’s like 15 bucks or something every month.

      Is this a fruedian slip?  LOL,

      Perscription:   a written direction for a therapeutic or corrective agent

      Subscription: an arrangement for providing, receiving, or making use of something of a continuing or periodic nature on a prepayment plan

      I normaly don’t correct grammer, but this was too funny  :-D

    • RE: New ideas…

      FYI, do what yo uwant with it:
      From Wikipedia

      Iceland
      Main article: Iceland during World War II
      From 1918 until 1944 Iceland was self-governing, but the Danish King was Head of State of both Denmark and Iceland. As with the Faroe Islands, the United Kingdom occupied Iceland (to pre-empt a German occupation) but later turned it over to the United States, before that country entered the war in 1941. Iceland became a fully independent republic in 1944 and has remained so thereafter.

      Greenland
      See also: History of Greenland: Strategic Importance and History of Greenland during World War II
      Regarding Greenland, on April 9, 1941, the Danish envoy (ambassador) to the United States, Henrik Kauffmann, signed a treaty with the U.S., authorising it to defend Greenland and construct military stations there. Kauffmann was supported in this decision by the Danish diplomats in the United States and the local authorities in Greenland. Signing this treaty “in the name of the King” was a clear violation of his diplomatic powers, but Kauffmann argued that he would not receive orders from an occupied Copenhagen.

    • RE: Carrier Based Fighters

      @Crazy:

      :|
      Seems to me, what Jennifer wants to get the OK opinion of this group is to do what we call in the Navy, a; Cross Deck Operation, or more commonly called, Cross Decking. That is when two task forces meet up and they swap units with the other task force. This can be completed usually within a 24 to 48 hour time period, depending on the amount of units that have to be swapped out. This is well within the time frame of a game turn, and since there is nothing in the rules that specifically addresses this issue, then I say go with what is perfectly resonable to do.
      That is my vote, if I have one that is. :lol:

      Yes this is a normal thing in real life, but Axis and Allies isn’t real life it’s a game.  “Cross Decking” can be a rule in CJTR 1.0

    • RE: Carrier Based Fighters

      OK here you go, I don’t think coment is required.

      From the box rules:
      Page 13 (Combat move Aircraft Carriers)
      Aircraft Carriers
      Aircraft carriers can move during this phase, but first they must “launch” any of their fighters that are to engage in combat this turn. (You don’t have to launch all fighters on a carrier.) The fighters can then make a combat move from the carrier’s sea zone. Fighters that you don’t launch before moving the aircraft carrier are cargo (generally, these are fighters belonging to a friendly power). Cargo cannot take part in combat and is destroyed if the carrier is destroyed. Whether it moves during the combat move or noncombat move phase, an aircraft carrier allows friendly fighters to land on it in the sea zone where it finishes its move.

      Page 30 (Aircraft Carriers)
      Carry Fighters: An aircraft carrier can carry up to two fighters, including those belonging to friendly powers. Fighters from friendly powers can take off and land from your carriers, but only during that power’s turn. A fighter must be launched from the carrier’s initial position to participate in an attack this turn. If the carrier moves first, the fighters on board are cargo. Fighters belonging to friendly powers on attacking carriers are always treated as cargo, as it is not their turn. Your aircraft carrier can move to a sea zone where one of your fighters has ended its move (and in fact, it must do so) but cannot move any farther that turn.
      Fighter Defense: Whenever a carrier is attacked, its fighters (even those belonging to friendly powers) are considered to be defending in the air and can be chosen as casualties rather than the carrier. (However, a fighter can’t be chosen as a casualty from a submarine hit, because submarines can attack only sea units. See Submarines, on page 32.)

      and

      From LHTR 2.0
      Page 10 (Combat movement Aircraft Carriers)
      Aircraft Carriers
      Aircraft carriers can move during this phase. Any fighters belonging to the aircraft carrier owner launch before the carrier moves and move independently of the carrier. These fighters can make a combat move from the carrier’s sea zone, or they can remain in the sea zone until the noncombat move phase.

      Guest fighters belonging to a friendly power on board your carrier must remain on board as cargo if the carrier moves in combat. They cannot take part in combat and are destroyed if the carrier is destroyed.

      Whether it moves during the combat move or noncombat move phase, an aircraft carrier allows friendly fighters to land on it in the sea zone where it finishes its move.

      Page 28 Aircraft Carriers
      Special Abilities:
      Carry Fighters:
      An aircraft carrier can carry up to two fighters, including those belonging to friendly powers. Fighters from friendly powers can take off and land from your carriers, but only during that power’s turn. Any fighters belonging to the aircraft carrier owner move independently of the carrier. These fighters can make a combat move from the carrier’s original sea zone, or they can remain in the original sea zone until the noncombat move phase. Fighters belonging to friendly powers on attacking carriers are always treated as cargo, as it is not their turn. Your aircraft carrier can move to or remain in a sea zone where one of your fighters will end its noncombat move (and in fact, it must do so if it is able).

      Fighter Defense: Whenever a carrier is attacked, its fighters (even those belonging to friendly powers) are considered to be defending in the air and can be chosen as casualties rather than the carrier. (However, a fighter can’t be chosen as a casualty from a submarine hit, because submarines can attack only sea units).

      In case it’s not obvious they’re pretty similar.

      Exactly, I don’t think you would compare Sam Adams Utopias with sex in a canoe, that is if you have the $100 to blow on a bottle of “beer”.

      I put beer in quotes, because 25+ apv is damn near whiskey let alone barley wine ;)

      I am going to lock this thread now. I have eddited and deleted and now given up.

      The question was asked, the question was answered to the satisfaction of the individual making the inquiry.

      Jen if you want to argue this start a new thread. (btw you’re wrong)

      Everyone else if you are satisfied then don’t respond to her thread.

      Please be nice, I have games to play… :-)

    • RE: What sucks? Besides Gamer that is.

      @mateooo:

      #5 commanders in transports getting to use their abilities (how exactly is that resourceful hero using the turret of a tank from inside an Easy Eight? It can happen by the rules.

      This still doesn’t make sense.
      Improvisation—If a Soldier or Vehicle is destroyed in the same hex as this unit, this unit can use the attack values of destroyed unit as long as it remains in the destroyed unit’s hex.

      If the hero is in the E8 and it’s distroyed, he’s distroyed too.

    • RE: What sucks? Besides Gamer that is.

      #1 I agree, if you can’t make the move with out over stacking you shouldn’t be able to do it.

      #2 I disagree, when halftracks were expensive you couldn’t use them, yuo just need to learn to defend against them.

      #3 I think that units should be designated as anti air and if they’re not they shouldn’t be able to attack air, there are alot of unit’s in this game that in reality wouldn’t stand a chance of hitting a plane, and yet in the game they do regularly.

      #4 Just agree ahead of time what limits should be.

      #5 Transport with a tank is on the tank, if anything units riding on a tank should be exposed to fire.

      #6 no comment

      @Motdc:

      Deploy:

      Poland and Attacker Army A are revealed and deployed as normal, with Poland deploying second.  Then Attacker Army B is revealed and deployed.  Attacker wins turn 1 initiative.

      Is this the standard 5 hex deployment?

    • RE: Luksusowa scenario for your review

      Probably true…

      I always thought that giving the germans the MG 42 was dumb, considering it was just an upgraded mg34

      The stuka is just for fun, it’s probably not worth the cost anyway

      I’d have to look more closely to see what I think of playability, best way is to try it…

      If you set it up I play it
