    • RE: Japanese Invasion–first and second moves

Before you ask I will explain.

      Turn one

Russia moves 2 Inf from Eve to Novo

UK builds an IC in India, moves the transport to Aus, the Inf from syr to Persia, two fighters to Kar.

The US builds an IC in Sin, evacuates China to Sin.

      Turn two

Russia moves 2 Inf from Novo to Sin, two fighters from Kar to Sin

Britain build 3 Inf in India transport 2 Inf from Aus to Ind, move 1Inf from Persia to India, move 2 Ftr from Kar to India

Us build two Inf. in Sin.

At this point I don’t think you will be attacking India or Sinkiang as you are clearly out matched. You will of course be able to over take the production of 5 Inf per turn But I believe it will be to long of a delay.

I think India and China need to be attacked on the first turn to set up the fall of sinkiang on turn two. If Russia attacks Manchuria they are setting themselves up for a swift counter-attack and sacrificing a valuable tank in the process.

    • RE: Japanese Invasion–first and second moves

I think waiting even one turn to start agresively atacking Britan and the US in asia is a mistake. If you used this against me you would be facing 10 Inf and 3 Ftrs in India and 12 Inf and 3 Ftrs in Sinkiang by the time you got there. This is not a very big investment for the Allies and it can be just enough delay to allow the allies to bolster the defenses of russia and stall the Japanese advance.

    • RE: How long do your board games usually last?

The last game I played went about 20 hours before we called it. I think it could have gone another 20 but we all wanted to start a new game from scratch after we adopt some house rules. I have managed to find enough people in our area to get a group to gether to play hopefully once a month. It has been my experience that games are rarely finnished usualy one side gives up. I’m speaking of face to face board games of course. Internet games seem to go three hours on average for me. But nothing compares to a five or six (World @ War) player face to face game.

    • RE: Axis & Allies Europe Map

I haven’t seen the Europe @ War map available for down load, but I’ve heard it is good.

As for a back ground for your map, I’ve been studing on that a bit and I think Ive come up with a solution for me. I am going to atachit directly to our game table. I have a folding table that I am going to remove the top of and replace with a piece of plywood the same size as my map. If I need to take it some where I’ll fold it up and slide it in to my truck.

    • RE: Axis & Allies Europe Map

Xeno Games has a Europe expansion that came out before the A/H version.

How are you enlarging the map? I am doing the same thing. I down loaded it and changed it to a bmp file, so that I could cut off some of the boxes and possibly modify the colors. I have printed it in black and white, well more like shades of grey. The one I printed is three feet tall and about five feet long, which is the size of our game table. It will be prety damn cool when I’m done.

    • RE: Can allies win?

Have you tried this in a game? I’m not saying that it won’t work because I haven’t tried it myself, It just seems a bit risky.
If you plan on taking Japan first I supose this is a way to get started.

      Waffen-

You just discribed exactly the new house rule my friends and I came up with. We left heavy bombers at 3 dice but the fighter defence is right on.

    • RE: Questions about A&A europe

It seems to me that the AAA would have been used defensively durring the attack and therfore can’t be moved durring noncombat.

      My opinion.

    • RE: Yanny & Greensleves

I play on the zone with a burned copy and have no problem. Have you installed the patches? Do you have directX installed. How many time did you try to play? This has happened in games I’ve played before. My best advice is to try to get in a game with someone with good latency. Thats the colored bars under the names in the Zone.

I’d like to get that battlecom from you. I already have a five player face to face scheduled for this weekend so I’m afraid I’m out for the online thing.

    • Who are you?

I’m curious about the people who share my interest in this game. If you would, tell everyone a little about yourself. I’ll start.

My name is William Cook I’m 29 I live in Phoenix Arizona. I’m Married and have 2 kids. I started playing A&A when I was in high school about 15 years ago. I played for 8 or 9 years, through highschool and college. I stopped playing for a couple years, but last year I pulled out the old box and blew off the dust. I have managed to get a group together here in Phoenix to play, hopefully semi-regularly. I have also tried playing by E-mail and online, but nothing beats five guys in the same room moving pieces with one hand and shoveling beer and pretzels with the other!

I ran a little longer than I intended there, but I would like to know some basics about the people here.

    • RE: Can allies win?

I like to evacuate India and China into Sinkang and have America build the industrial Complex there. America has the money to build Infantry with the occasional fighter there. This can delay the japs for a long time.

    • Rules

If you are anything like me your game box(or boxes I have 4) are beat up and taped back together repeatedly. Also the rule book can be hard to find. This website has printable rules for most new Hasbro games including all three versions of Axis & Allies.

      Waffen
The Infantry placement you use is not in the rules. It is in the World @ War expansion, and I like the idea, however it makes it tough to discus strategy when you play by different rules.
I like the invasion of Hawaii idea. Especialy the panama follow through.

    • RE: New guy.

A friend of mine took his board to a reprographics place and had them color photocopy and enlarge it to like 6 feet long. However 200 bucks is a steep price to pay.
I have just finnished reproduceing the map in AutoCAD. I dont have a color plotter so I will have to have it printed. I don’t know the cost yet.
