RE: New Quoteposted in General Discussion
Yep, I worked on the fire sprinklers. I is unbeliveable that they can aircondition that thing butwithin a couple hours they can drop the temperature over 20 degrees. I don’t think it helps the field much but the stands are quite comfortable even when it is 100 degrees out side.
It’s amazing to watch the roof open, they open it up before some of the games and at the end of others.

What if you increased the term and stagered the times that terms started and expired?
Just a thought.
Sounds kind of like jury duty.

Damn mets!
And I’m not just another fan, I live here, and I became a baseball fan when we got the team. I even worked on the construction of the ballpark. It’s to bad that an average fan can’t afford to go to the world series, I guess I will have to save my pennies and get season tickets.

Imagine living in Yanny’s perfect world, it’s easy if you try… I might say your a dreamer, but your not the only one…
Hehe…
I was going to say that Yanny is young enough to be J.L. reincarnated but it reminded me that he was born when I was in highschool and that is depressing.

RE: New Gameposted in General Discussion
I am in the competition game and also in game 5. The commpetition game is the one that is just starting, if you e-mail the moderator he will put you on the list to get a country. The nations are all assigned, however sign up started like 6 months ago and some people have droped out. There are three people on the waiting list now, but they will most likely be in the game after the first turn. Also throughout the game large countries are subjust to occasional revolutions which bring in new players as well.
In the comp game I am the Deutschmeister of the Teutonic Order. I am a small nation with powerful allies;)
Game five has been going on for a year and is extreemly complicated. I got into game 5 while I was waiting for the competition game to start so I could learn the basics. And I ended up with a rebel movement that gianed independance in africa called the Uige Liberation Front. Hehe…
If you enjoy politics and diplomacy this game rules.

New Gameposted in General Discussion
I found this new game online that is awesome. It is called 1483. It is a game of Imperial age conquest. you plan your moves and conduct diplomacy then send in your orders via e-mail. There are 72 live players so the diplomacy is awesome. The turns are about 1 a week, so there is plenty of time for player interaction, plots and counterplots. Best of all its free and that is my favorite kind of game!
This is the link: http://www.guildofblades.com/interactive/1483.html
If anyone is interested let me know and I can help you get started. The game I just got into hasn’t started yet and there may be positions available.

RE: The Penguin Joke…posted in General Discussion
A reporter goes to a rest home to see a famous old bear hunter. The nurse wheels the wrinkled old man to the viewing area. The reporter asks him about the biggest bear he ever shot. The old man says, “well I was deep in the bush and I was on the trail of griz. My dogs had a good scent and soon had em cornered. I was looking at a huge old boar with razor sharp claws and fangs. The bear tore up my dogs in seconds and then charged me with a bellowing GRRRRR!” The reporter, jotting down notes said, “then what happened?” the little old man looked at him sheepishly and said, “I soiled myself.” The reporter says, “Well that is perfectly understandable in that situation.” “No”, says the old man, “just now when I said GRRRR!”

Feudalism
You have two cows. Your lord takes some of the milk.Pure Socialism
You have two cows. The government takes them and puts them in a barn with everyone else’s cows. You have to take care of all the cows. The government gives you all the milk you need.Bureaucratic Socialism
Your cows are cared for by ex-chicken farmers. You have to take care of the chickens the government took from the chicken farmers. The government gives you as much milk and eggs the regulations say you should need.Fascism
You have two cows. The government takes both, hires you to take care of them, and sells you the milk.Pure Communism
You have two cows. Your neighbors help you take care of them, and you all share the milk.Real World Communism
You share two cows with your neighbors. You and your neighbors bicker about who has the most “ability” and who has the most “need”. Meanwhile, no one works, no one gets any milk, and the cows drop dead of starvation.Russian Communism
You have two cows. You have to take care of them, but the government takes all the milk. You steal back as much milk as you can and sell it on the black market.Perestroika
You have two cows. You have to take care of them, but the Mafia takes all the milk. You steal back as much milk as you can and sell it on the “free” market.Cambodian Communism
You have two cows. The government takes both and shoots you.Militarianism
You have two cows. The government takes both and drafts you.Totalitarianism
You have two cows. The government takes them and denies they ever existed. Milk is banned.Pure Democracy
You have two cows. Your neighbors decide who gets the milk.Representative Democracy
You have two cows. Your neighbors pick someone to tell you who gets the milk.British Democracy
You have two cows. You feed them sheeps’ brains and they go mad. The government doesn’t do anything.Bureaucracy
You have two cows. At first the government regulates what you can feed them and when you can milk them. Then it pays you not to milk them. Then it takes both, shoots one, milks the other and pours the milk down the drain. Then it requires you to fill out forms accounting for the missing cows.Pure Anarchy
You have two cows. Either you sell the milk at a fair price or your neighbors try to take the cows and kill you.Pure Capitalism
You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.Capitalism
You don’t have any cows. The bank will not lend you money to buy cows, because you don’t have any cows to put up as collateral.Enviromentalism
You have two cows. The government bans you from milking or killing them.Political Correctness
You are associated with (the concept of “ownership” is a symbol of the phallo centric, war mongering, intolerant past) two differently - aged (but no less valuable to society) bovines of non-specified gender.Surrealism
You have two giraffes. The government requires you to take harmonica lessons. -

RE: How long is one turn?posted in Axis & Allies Classic
I consider one turn a season. The only reason I like to know how long a turn is, is so I can compare my progress to the real war. Just something I think is fun.

It wasn’t your oppinion that worried me it was the fact that you called him a “sweetheart”.
You see there aren’t many females that post here, in fact I don’t know of any others.
Looking forward to hearing more of your oppinions.
