Yep, I worked on the fire sprinklers. I is unbeliveable that they can aircondition that thing butwithin a couple hours they can drop the temperature over 20 degrees. I don’t think it helps the field much but the stands are quite comfortable even when it is 100 degrees out side.

It’s amazing to watch the roof open, they open it up before some of the games and at the end of others.

Is it my imagineation or does this site go down ever couple days for a short while?

What if you increased the term and stagered the times that terms started and expired?

Just a thought.

And I’m not just another fan, I live here, and I became a baseball fan when we got the team. I even worked on the construction of the ballpark.

It’s to bad that an average fan can’t afford to go to the world series, I guess I will have to save my pennies and get season tickets. :smile:

I was going to say that Yanny is young enough to be J.L. reincarnated but it reminded me that he was born when I was in highschool and that is depressing. :sad:

I am in the competition game and also in game 5. The commpetition game is the one that is just starting, if you e-mail the moderator he will put you on the list to get a country. The nations are all assigned, however sign up started like 6 months ago and some people have droped out. There are three people on the waiting list now, but they will most likely be in the game after the first turn. Also throughout the game large countries are subjust to occasional revolutions which bring in new players as well.

In the comp game I am the Deutschmeister of the Teutonic Order. I am a small nation with powerful allies;)

Game five has been going on for a year and is extreemly complicated. I got into game 5 while I was waiting for the competition game to start so I could learn the basics. And I ended up with a rebel movement that gianed independance in africa called the Uige Liberation Front. Hehe…

I found this new game online that is awesome. It is called 1483. It is a game of Imperial age conquest. you plan your moves and conduct diplomacy then send in your orders via e-mail. There are 72 live players so the diplomacy is awesome. The turns are about 1 a week, so there is plenty of time for player interaction, plots and counterplots. Best of all its free and that is my favorite kind of game!

Its been going around for years I just saw it again on another forum and it reminded me of some of the discutions I’ve heard here so I posted it. :smile:

Feudalism
You have two cows. Your lord takes some of the milk.

Pure Socialism
You have two cows. The government takes them and puts them in a barn with everyone else’s cows. You have to take care of all the cows. The government gives you all the milk you need.

Bureaucratic Socialism
Your cows are cared for by ex-chicken farmers. You have to take care of the chickens the government took from the chicken farmers. The government gives you as much milk and eggs the regulations say you should need.

Fascism
You have two cows. The government takes both, hires you to take care of them, and sells you the milk.

Pure Communism
You have two cows. Your neighbors help you take care of them, and you all share the milk.

Real World Communism
You share two cows with your neighbors. You and your neighbors bicker about who has the most “ability” and who has the most “need”. Meanwhile, no one works, no one gets any milk, and the cows drop dead of starvation.

Russian Communism
You have two cows. You have to take care of them, but the government takes all the milk. You steal back as much milk as you can and sell it on the black market.
