Why is it that many of the same kinds of people who believe that America should invade other countries to prevent them from having weapons capable of killing many people from a distance believe that they should be allowed to own weapons capable of killing many people from a distance?

Umm, we’re talking chemical and biological weapons here, possibly even nuclear. That presents an entirely more dangerous potential for human casualties than any firearm you can show me. They can’t even be compared with each other using the same line of reasoning.

Besides, we don’t stop everyone else from having WMD’s. We try to stop crazy & dangerous people from having WMD’s. Just as we try to stop crazy & dangerous people from acquiring guns.

Wow, that’s hilarious.

The funny part about it is that exact same thing happened the other day when I was down at the beach. A couple of girls were selling snacks out of their wagon, and a man came up to them and said “You need a permit to sell those snacks to the public.” It was absolutely hilarious was happened next, when one of the girls pulled out a city-permit and waved it at him. You should have seen the guys face, his jaw just dropped. :P Her dad had went down to city hall and gotten one the day before as a “just-in-case” thing, but it turned out to be a very wise thing to do.

It’s beyond the point in terms of whether we should revolve our national security around it. You have to be prepared for everything. I could ask the same question in terms of “when’s the last time somebody launched a nuke at us?” Now, does that mean we shouldn’t take precautions against such enemies?
