    • RE: War bonds: A better way for technology and turn order.

      1. War bonds is a place holder name…… i couldnt come up with a better one. They have nothing to do with like actually  money. Maybe sr ( strategic resource)?

      2. My name is DessertFox. ( its like a joke)

      3. The recover casualties  thing is a bit questionable. The reason behind it is that they are not dead, but are hurt or wounded or damaged. Being able to repair them or fix them would be a neat concept. Also i think that having only two uses for war bonds is a little silly. Having more option is better.

      4. Baron, i dont mean to be rude, but could you explain that in simpler terms? Im alittle confused.

    • War bonds: A better way for technology and turn order.

Hey so after reading the War Room rule book, i came up with an idea to  add some elements to axis and allies: Bonds.

A nation collects bonds at the end of the round. You collect 1 bond for every 10 ipcs you collect. HOWEVER, you only count your basic income, without nationl objectives, leftover money, or money gain by capturing a capital. For example, lets say Germany is earning 40 dollars per turn. But this is turn two. They captured Paris last turn, so they actually have around 70-ish dollars. They still only get 4 bonds, because thats how much they earn per turn

You can use bonds in two ways, and the third way is going to need some testing.

      1. Turn order
      2. Technology
      3.Recovery

      1. Turn order.

Every player at the begining of the round writes down their bid. After everybody  writes their bond bids, they reveal them and pay for them. (Sounds Familar?)

      2. Technology

You may invest in technology. During the technology  phase, you may spend as many bonds on technology  as you want. You pick a technology,  then invest in as many bonds you want. You may invest in mutiple technologies. If you want to change any previous, investments, you may pay 1 bond, then you may change whatever you want. Ottherwise, everything else is the same. Roll for what every bonds you have have in each investment, so on.

The tech War Bonds, is the same with a twist, now you will gain an additional bond every turn.

      3. Recover

This is the one that could be op and needs testing. After you win a battle, you may spend bonds to recover casualties. You may recover up to 10 ipcs of one unit type. However, they are not cumilative.  For example, if i wanted to recover tanks, i can only recover 1 tank with 1 war bond. However i cant spend 2 war bonds and recover 3. I think it needs alot of work and should be tested throughly.

I have always played with the first since anniversary came out. Choosing techs is such a more realistic design and personally getting the advanced aa gun for america sucks. :x

    • Attila the Hun board game: Yeah or Na?

      Hey guys

I was thinking of a cool idea for a board game i am considering making. i have always tinkered around with board games and am considering making one myself. I am considering making a board game about the fall of the roman empire. It would be a sorta free for all game with the goal of conquering Rome within a certain round limit. What are your thoughts?

Do the tournament rules count as house rules? I didn’t because it was made by Larry. I think the game is amazing with those rules and is my favorite axis and allies game ever!!!

    • Axis and Allies expansion?

Hey so my dad loves axis and allies.  My dad currently has all of them… even the nova game one (although in a battered state). He has these strange tokens for classic. They have destroyers, kamikazes, pillboxes, no fly zones, and more. I have been trying to find the rules online but cant. Any help?

    • Factories in World War One?

I have heard some ideas floating around that Germany should have a factory in Munich. I was thinking that ther might be a possibility that ther could be more. I was think you could put a factory in rhe following

      Budepest
Munich (Ruhr if you wan to be historical accurate)
      Canada

      Any thought?

I guess this is really a problem in games like revised where there is no way to convoy. I mean, this scenario doesnt happen often, but it has happened.

    • The Inherent Problem with Axis and Allies

Hey so I have one issue with Axis and Allies.

Say the Allies have liberated France, took Poland, and are on the doorsteps of Berlin. That’s where what I like to call “phony war” syndrome. Its where both sides do not want to attack each other. For if the Allies attack, and lose, then Germany survives and may have enough to take back some territories. Germany Doesn’t what to attack, cause he will lose his capital. Its even worse for Japan. With Some foresight, Japan can become a fortress, having huge stacks of infantry, and lots of planes. Its almost impossible to amphibious assault Japan with Transports. Maybe if it was like one round of combat, it would fix this. Eventually however, the Allies just out produce Germany and maybe Japan, but it takes longer than it should. Any suggestions?

How about we abandon vc and go for a straight capture two capitals? One of those capitalsites for the allies has to  each Tokyo and one for the axis has to be Moscow. Calcutta would not count.

What do you guys think of Germany making sea units purchases for the first few turns. Reason being,  Germany has enough troops for the first few turns at least. Thought?

    • RE: Attack UK?

I would like to see a game where Germany try sealion. It really depends ion the rolls at jutland. I have a plan in mind but it probably won’t work an experienced player. I was thinking turn one, buy 5 tt on kiel. If Jutland goes well,  next turn put 1 tt on Scott land, one on yorkshire and if GB doesn’t buy ships and France doesn’t put ships there, three tt on whales. If that happens, it’s game over. But again ypthat relies on a lot of elements going well and pure stupidity on GB part. Anybody thought of  like a two or three star plan for great Britain?

Hey so I was just curious. What are some good first round purchases for each nation? I have a good idea but I want to hear what others think.

    • RE: Complexes Clarification requested.

      1. No. Norway did not begin the game controlled by US. Germany can build a major factory there but I once us takes over, it will become a minor one.

      2. Yes but not a major one.
