      I dont believe in bids. I play with ygh rules and that works just fine. My only problem is with the USA. i cant seem to find a strategy that is effective on both sides. Other than that, no problems.

      Like cow said, always go for the weaker one. Generally, cairo is weaker (cause no major), but if cairos beefed up, then later sealion should be an option. You certainly have the funds for it if you get moscow + those sweet oilfields.and vcs. If you dont, get them. You shouldnt wven think about sealions or cairo intil you get those things. Then decide.

      Never thought of that. But the uk should at least be weary of sending those fighters as that is an almost guarantee death for those guys. Maybe send one or two, but nothing more then that.

      Yeah ive always found the paratroopers one worthless. I say everybody should have it at the start. It would certainly add more flavor to the game at the very least.

      If the british player scrambles in 110, then do sealion. If uk scrambles, he losses 30 ipcs worth od his most important defensive unit in the game. Ppl say a good defense is infantry, which is true, but many ppl are missing a crucial aspect and that is fighters. A combanation of infantry +fighters are the best defense. So when he is scrambling those fighters, he has given up any chance of defending london.

      Another advantage to doing afrika korps is that if your playing with ygh rules thats a vp right there.

      Also i think japan should do a calcutta crush along with afrika korps. That way, uk cant send fighters from india into egypt, otherwise lose infia and/or the possibility  of taking india back

      If japan does an india crush, its no use defending india. But what you can do is use the money for the 3 or 4 turns you have and bulid offensivse units, let him take india, then attack india. Just a thought.

      Yes i really miss all of the unique  rules these older games had to offer. Like the j1 kill everything rules, or the allies paying for oil rule in europe. Convoying was wayyy beter in these games, but the problem i have with it is that its not an attack. Maybe we should have the ships roll dice and whenever they hit, the other player loses money, ON THE TURN OF THE AGGRESOR! The problem i have is that by the time its the enemies turn, they have destroyed  you fleet that was blockading you convoy. Having it be an attack would fix so many issues when it comes to convoying.

      A kff strategy  is possible. You have to go hard on it and you kill utaly as well. The goal is to have austria and germany team up on france. Becuase  of your intial forces, i find that if placed properly, you can stil hold off russia and even take it. Also a game of ww1 should take  less than 3hr. 5 max. I find it impossible  to believe that with tourney rules a game can go on for 17 hrs.

      I was also thinking for the allies, that sonce they get shafted in the NO department, then we could make NO that rewards them with bonds, or whatever you want to call them.

      Ok, but why not play with the highest bidder goes first?

      Also if you want this would be a house rule. You could have certain territories have bonds in them, say iraq starts with 1 bond in addition to its income. You can balence it.

      Also, like i said earlier, these are not actually bonds from the government. Its a placeholder name. It was the best i could come up with. If you would like to create a better one, feel free. Im not attached  to the name.

      And btw, i didnt know germany spent oil before marching their tanks into barbarosa to get the initiative on russia.
