RE: We need an allied playbook.posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Keep in mind buying bombers forces the axis player to keep valuable fighters on the defensive rather than Moscow for fear of getting bombed to death.

RE: Another attempt at an Allied playbook.posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
A far more effective strategy for me as the allied player is a meat grinder. Sending enough units every turn to Normandy, Holland, Denmark, or western Germany, having them take it back, rinse and repeat every turn. Thats forcing them to buy and reserve units for the western front. Eventually they will have to give in because of the needed consolidation, especially if German tries and fails to take Moscow.

RE: We need an allied playbook.posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
The purpose of the allied playbook is to come up with strategies without a bid. Putting a bid on the game brings up too many variables. How much extra money, where it going, etc. Those kinds of discussions are best reserved for another topic as this topic’s main focus is on strategy. I believe that the allies can win without a bid. It just very difficult hence the need for the allied playbook.

Why would you waste Japanese lives for Yunnan? Japan starts with lots of air but very few infantry and they are all spread out. Better consolidate those guys at honan and meet up with other japanese units and taking it next turn for sure.

RE: How many G40 games have you played?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
You definitely should try wining without bids. If you look at the allied playbook and the victory conditions thread, we are definitely making progress. Global is not an average axis and allies game. It is completely different and is tilted towards the allies. What you need to win with the allies is a battle plan and stick with it. And remember, America is the key Come up with a plan for America and stick with it. React if you can but focus on the plan. If its a good plan, then you will win. If its a bad one you will fail.

It takes time, but eventually if you hit normandy, belgium, and denmark consistatly, you will. And once you do, you will be able to land us planes there and it becomes a fortress.
