    • RE: 7.62/ 30-6 vs. 5.56x45

      According to the creator of the AK, Mikhail Kalashikov, the 7.62 is the best calibre, better than the 5.45 calibre used in the AK74. Also, I like big calibres. I have read some convincing things about 7.62v5.56 that favor the former.

      I always “invade” Ireland when I am setting up the board for GB. You just cant fit everything on that little island.

      For my English class which has just completed The Giver

      Dude, how old are you? That book’s recommended grade level is grade 5. But isn’t making up a utopia a little advanced for grade 5’s? This is confusing.

      In Seventh Grade. Also, I had read the book before when I was in 5th grade or the summer before between 4th and fifth.

      I have read that according to the army the average engagement happens within 300 meters. Thus, an AK47 would work fine. Also, I am thinking more along the lines of a 7.62x51 not a 7.62x39 like the AK47.

      Which calibre is better for the army? I say the 30-6 is because if you have twenty rounds in a mag and it is only semi auto you will A) Not waste ammo as easily as a M-16 and B) Have better knock down power.

      For my utopian community the export will be textiles. Like armstrong. Then my commie gov’t will use the money from the exports to import clothing, food, furniture, books, school supplies, etc. Also, there will a college that will earn money from tuition, and that will also go to the treasury.

      @dezrtfish:

      From what I’ve read here you should look up some info on Sparta and base your project on them. The only problem would be the issues with the lower classes. But hey I’m sure you could figure it out.

      I’ve thought of Sparta. Right now in SS class we are studying the Athenians and the Spartans. I am learning nothing because I have watched this like 3 hr long history channel thing on the Spartans twice. There life worked for them and the only problem they had was with slaves.

      @MuthaRussia:

      Yeah, your right, but who says all fascist leaders murder all there citizens? :-?
      Mussolini didnt, he was actaully quite nice to the italians, he just got numerous soldiers killed, because italians are lovers, not fighters!

      Amore! :lol:

      He killed them. He sent to war in metal coffins. (I am refering to the Italian tanks.) Anyone who sends his people to fight a war for which they are not prepared for is a murderer of his citizens.

    • RE: Fav music genre?

      OFF. (As in radio, cd player, record player, and tape player.) Except for the Beatles, Billy Joel, and the Chipmunks. (My family has a Christmas CD with the Chipmunks on it.) I don’t really like music. Classical is ok too I guess.

      A utopia is a peaceful place. Also, everything has to beneficial for everyone in this project.

      @Janus1:

      fascism is a system ideally suited to war. a small, peaceful community like the one described would be ill-suited to be at war for any length of time. the military from a group this small would be very small indeed. and i still dont think you know what fascism or communism are. they are opposing ideologies, so it is hard to believe you know what they are, and would have communism as your second choice. i think your just an idiot playing at politics, because you think facism and hitler are cool.

      Athletic programs would be essentially war games, and I would have a large wall surrounding the community with AA and 18 inch guns. However, the military will be swiss-like, meant purely for defense. (If it didn’t have to be a Utopia, I would have a completely mercenary community with a home meant for just breeding and raising young soldiers.)

      Then why do you call your self a republican? You seemed to agree to things that are more to the right.

      You need a government because people will be people. A utopia doesn’t come with perfect people.

      @Janus1:

      Desertfox…im honored to be on your “waiting to hear from list”, how did i earn a spot there?

      You are a republican. Also, you seem to be capitalistic unlike many others who seem to be commies. MuthaRussia is active in most political forums and seemed to communist. Thus I had two opposing view points.

      @MuthaRussia:

      I read the giver a few yrs back in school and hated it!!!
      The ending is dumb, but i really believe a fascism would be utopia!

      I hated the ending too!!!

      Marxism seems the best to me so far. I was wondering if having everyone being issued Summer, winter, fall, and spring clothing is a bad thing. Also, I was thinking about alloting each citizen a certain amount of points, and then they could buy stuff.

      What I ment by communist is pure one hundred percent socialism without any political party. This is a small commune so there is not much power to be gathered. Everyone gets the same objects and food (except when they slack off, then they have food privilages temperarally removed. For instance they might loose a meal.)

    • Utopia

      For my English class which has just completed The Giver I must create a utopia. Sadly I have come to the conclusion that the best government type for a utopia would be communism. :cry: (I like capitalism.) However if any can prove me wrong, please do so. Or if you can prove to me that communism truly is the best. I am looking forward to comments from Janus1 and MuthaRussia.

      Are you guys just posting for post count or what?

      Anyhoo, I love playing as the Axis because I am a German at heart and I am technically 5/8 German (7/8 if you include British which can be arguably German because of the Anglo-Saxons who came from Germany.) Playing as the Fatherland, trying to devise new strategies is just awesome.

    • RE: How Long Does Russia Usually Stay In The Game?

      Either Russia is taken out quickly or they will remain in the game for a while. It’s hard to believe Russia would be taken out on the 4-5 turn because by then they could have organized a decent defense of Moscow.
