I would like to play a game as the allies on this map, with no tech. I would like all the settings in keeping with the board game version, Alpha 3 rules, regular dice.
I have never done play by forum - only played a couple of AAA games vs. the inept AI. If anyone wants to stomp me I’m ready to learn!
Where are these 3.9 rules that people refer to? Are they just for online play? At the Larry Harris site the latest I can see is 3.0.
I have HOI3 and have played many hours. If you like building, organizing and naming your own units, you’ll love this game. It can be very immersive with the right soundtrack playing in the background.

OK thanks! So basically its everywhere you see a british roundel on the Europe map, except west India, plus Ukon & British Columbia from the Pacific map?
It says in alpha 3:
“5 IPCs if the United Kingdom controls all of its original territories in its European economy (see pg. 32).”
What territories are these? Do they include African? Where is this page 32?
NEW GUY QUESTION: While reading these boards I keep seeing “that’s a 30%” or “I wouldn’t attack unless I had a 60%” - how are you arriving at these percentages and what exactly do they mean?
It appears from the rulebook that ships can only be repaired at a friendly operative naval base. Is this right? It seems kind of odd that you can build a BB from scratch at a territory containing only an IC, but can’t repair the ship there?
Also, can the USA get their ship repaired at a Russian naval base? It says “any friendly.”
Seems odd that the Russians would carry US parts.

Not to mention all the hordes of T-34s - the Germans couldn’t move a foot further in Axis and Allies if that number was historically represented.

As IL said, it is Imperious Leaders Spring 1942 map with neutrals, printed out at a local printer. I don’t have the whole 1941 game - just bought a set of pieces from Ebay and supplements from historicalboardgaming.com. I don’t even know what to call my game anymore - since I’ve added Italy now, it’s more like Anniversary Edition. It’s kind of a mix of what I like about all the games in the series - lol.
In the latest Alpha+3 rules, Larry changed the SBR rules for escorts and interceptors.
This game came out 10 months after that 10/10/11 post on his site, so it has changed again. That’s one thing that makes this game frustrating - it’s not like chess where the rules have been around for hundreds of years. The rules are still fluid and keep changing.
