    • RE: Deployment Question

      @Motdc:

      While yes, the Commisar’s bonus (+1 after a “Bravery Enforcement”) applies to himself, no he cannot off himself.  Or rather, the moment the Commisar is removed from play, he no longer grants any bonuses.  No unit can effect the game if it has been removed from play.

      Mot

      Actually your right, In the game we played with Soviets and Japan I had 2 commisars so it was legal.

      Sorry Tekboi about the wrong info. :-D

    • RE: Deployment Question

      @tekboi:

      When you deploy vehicles that have the transport function - can you deploy them with troops already on board?  Or do the troops need to board on their first movement phase?

      Also, one of my “special abilities” says that in order to make my nearby units brave, I have to destroy one of my own units.

      Does this mean what I think it means?  i.e.  My comissar kills a soldier, and everyone else is more scared of me than the enemy, so they fight harder….  (Of course it has to be a Russian… stereotypically)  :-P

      (When you use this rule, do you immediately remove the unit, or does he stil get an attack that turn?)

      Thanks

      Yes you can deploy with unit already on transport.  Most important is that units can only mount or dismount on MOVEMENT phase.  With the exception of a Panzergrenadier from Germany (mechanised tactic special ability), this unit can board on movement phase and then dismount at the end of movement phase.  But again it has to be on movement phase.  If any unit is mounted on transport during assault phase they will be stuck on that transport until next rounds movement phase.

      Bravery enforcement is a pretty ruthless tactic.  I interpret it exactly the same way as you mentioned that the soldiers get scared sh!t and out of fear of dying by there own command fight real hard.  They are removed immediately and can not make attacks.  Keep in mind that the Commisar can also off himself to give bravery to his remaiing comrades.  Commander abilities also apply to themselves.

      everyone’s brought up great bands.  what happened to music nowadays?

      I think new bands play guitar like Mike Tyson speaks english.  Very Broken
      They learn 4 or more open pos. chords and then play strum all six strings anyway.  :|

    • RE: Another noob question.. infantry vs. armor…

      Welcome Tekboi to our AAM forum.  :-)

      In regards to what you posted, picture this situation…
      Tanks aint’ that tough.  Imagine having a King Tiger only against 2 SE Paras (even worse if they’re next to the SE Capt.).  At round 7 your King Tiger would have to stay exactly adjacent or inside the objective.  Nowhere to run because you would lose for not being near objective.  Now short range you would need 6 of 7 to kill an SE Para, 5 of 7 won’t help because they will only shrug off their disruption next turn with special ability “hard charger”.  These maniacal SE Para’s would pounce all over King Tiger and Close assault at 9 dice (10 dice if SE Capt. is present) against a rear DEF. of 6.  Let’s say 1 SE Para disrupt’s King Tiger now rear Def. drops to 5.  You can figure out what happens next to King Tiger.  I’ll take my chances with the “meat” in this situation anyday.

      You were looking for soldiers with a meaningful role, well here are a few.  These guys are HARDCORE.

      29 points of “meat” taking out a 62 point unit… OUCH  :evil:

      Absolutely, You control the sequence of your assault.  I knew you were gonna pull that stunt :-P

      In other words, move NCO into position to assist friendly unit with 2-6 med range.
      Sounds legit to me :x

      Finaly a transport that can carry two soldiers, unfortunately it’s realy weak.

      and another M3, it’s a nice looking mini, but it’s another M3…

      US M3
      US M3 Lee
      UK M3 Grant
      UK M3 Stuart
      SU M3 Lee

      I believe there are only 6 Shermans so far so they better make a tan one for Africa…

      Wow I missed this post the first time around.  But WOW :-o :-o :-o :-o :-o :-o :-o
      This is right up my alley.  Can you imagine rolling up with 2 Flamethrowers on this unit and for 4 bucks.  The americans will be invincible.  I wanna use this combo to take me out a Vet king Tiger :evil:

    • RE: Questions

      Why would opposing infantry be afraid of a cossack captain that they can’t even see if he is riding “inside” a tank.
      If he is riding outside the tank then it would make sense for intimidation to take affect.  And since Cossack would be riding outside of tank he should be subject to enemy fire.  HHR house rules states alot of these units as having exposed transport not transport ability.  We should take a vote and get rid of this cheesy tactic.  Also as far as the Brumbaar; Brumbaars blast should work on units on exposed transports not on transports.

    • RE: Covering fire

      I’d agree so you can win init.  I do recall playing a game with Mot where I had an SS Haupts (he might have had a commander too, I don’t remember).  But he came at me with 6 bars ( I had way more superior inf’s ).  It didn’t matter, the luck went his way and he won init 6 out of 8 rounds or something ridiculous like that.  My guys didn’t get to fire all game long :x

      @Half-Track:

      “wacking” and “it” should be used carefully in the same sentence, especially with DK…

      I don’t know about that.  This stallion don’t need to do that.  You know how long my list is. :-D  Easy there "Mr. Undercover Peepshow addict.

    • RE: Covering fire

      yes but naturally only in the attk phase,
      because in the movement phase Bar has not yet made “covering fire”
      Any unit attked by covering fire may not attk period in that phase.
      Remember covering fire really only works if you win init and go 1st
