Has anyone tried a big attack on Hawaii and NSW on J4 along with taking the Phillipans J5. Win in J5 before any allied pruches make a difference.

    • Naval Changes

This is my second solution to the naval problems in P40.

      (8) Destroyers-In the real world where are escort unit. They become 1-2, but for each Battleship, Carrier or Transport casues 1 destoryer to attack on 2.

      (11) Crusiers-In the real war these where used to add punch to a fleet, where a battleship could not be givin. It it is not with a capital ship, it takes 2 hits. Cannot shore bombard after taking 1 hit, untill reparied.
They may also can be held back form a naval battle to shore bombard.

(18)-Same but can be held back from battles to shore bombard.

    • RE: Naval Repricing

It would mean there was more to naval warfare than destroyers and subs.

    • Naval Repricing

Everyone seams to think that for defensive naval work, buy destroyers, use subs if you need some attacking pounch and use carriers for shore bombarding. :?
      Also, nobody wants Tacks. :x

      My ideas

      Battleships-18 IPCs
Crusiers-11 IPCs (lets Tacks defend on 4      )
Destroyer-8 (1 to 1 sub ability) Cannot disrupt convoys
      Sub-7 (Normal)

      Anyone like it.

    • RE: Non-Aggresion Treaty

But some people like a global plan, taking down Russia quickly, then UK, then US.

It was very hard and I still like my infantry NO, because it allows the units to land on the frount, without making them an attacking force.

    • RE: Why wait as Japan?

The Advantages of a J1 strike is the early capture of Kong Kong, along with the destruction of the Brittish transports+Battleship. You can also get either the Phillipans, Hawaii or NSW. You can also take out the transport (USA), the Phillipans navy and the ANZAC navy. But you will be weak in Chain (Yunnan impossibe?) and have a huge US Navy ready to strike by J4. Unless you act fast you will loose you navy, the the DEIs will be taken off you, then its only a matter of time.

      I like J2, and sometimes J3.

    • RE: Non-Aggresion Treaty

      @Tavenier:

Maybe a NO for still having the non/agg treaty?

In a way we already do, because if they are not at war, they do not have to send forces aginst each other.

Also, say it can be a break off to Non-Aggression Treaty if Russia moves into China or India.

And I think 1 infantry per turn would be better.

    • Non-Aggresion Treaty

In the global game how will you manage the Japan-Russia issue.

I HATE having Japan attacking Russia because Moscow is the easiest capital.

My suggestion is a special NO for Japan and Russia to represent the fear of another war front.

)If Japan attacks Russia (moves into any Russian territory or convoy space) then Russia may mobilise 2 infantry during each Japense '‘non-combat move’. These may only be placed in a terriory withen 2 spaces of a Japenese unit. This last for
      A-Until Moscow falls
B-Japan move out of every origanal territory

The same rules apply to Japan if attacked by Russia (but in vice-virsa).

    • RE: Question: Number of Players in AAE/AAP40 World Game

      You could try victory aims.

      UK-Italy
      USA-Phillipans/Paris
      Russia-Warsaw

      Germany-Starlingrad
      Italy-Cairo
      Japan-Honolou

We could have 2 easy, 2 medium, and 2 hard; depending on how long you want to play for

    • RE: Reactions on the FAQ

I am from Aus, and NSW is very wrong.

It had the second bigest port in the south Pacific (behing Singapor), had 50% of ANZAC fighters, 50% of infantry, all heavy equipemt and had 8 million people.

And to show this it gets a minor IC, 2IPC income and 1 infantry. I think it should get 1 IPC boost, Victoria get 1 IPC boost and NT go to nothing.

Move all of queensland units to NSW and leave 1 inf and 1 fighter in Queensland, with airbase. Its naval base belongs in Darwin, NT.

Que (2)-1 inf, 1 fig, AB
NSW (3)-2 inf, 1 art, 2 fig, IC+, AB, NB
      NT (0)-NB
NZ (2)-1 inf, 1 fig, AB, IC-

      All else the same

I think the Phillipans should only have an airbase.

    • RE: Pacific 1940 - Limited Edition or not?

Plese, anyone who buy more than one copy is stoping another person from buying a copy.

So plese people, lets be fair.

I have to pay for ship to Aus (55US)+120US for game makes is very expensive. To get both it will end up costing at least 500US.
