    • RE: ProtesT (Axis) vs Inno (Allies + 10 Bid) 42 2E

      Much must be risked in war… Or so they say. I NEVER make a decision in this game on “Well I hope to get lucky and my opponent unlucky”. This was the first time and it will be the last time I try to defy the odds.

      I opted to leave the British tank as well. I missed it and declared combat phase over, rules are rules. Depending on what USA and Russia do, I can work with that decision anyways. Allies are two victory cities away from making Inno 1 - ProtesT 0. Time to huddle down and play some defence.  :-D

      And I forgot to attack your British tank in Russia. LOL Was so concentrated on the fleet attack decision…

      Please don’t let these mishaps sway you away from playing a game of Global against me next.  :-D

      My inexperience in PBEM just showed again. lol I shouldve posted after combat phase but I am attacking your Phillipine Island fleet. Odds are in your favour but with another carrier coming it had to be now or you were going to crush my fleet eventually. I need order of losses.

      American:
      2x CV
      1x BB
      4x DD
      4x Fgt

      British:
      1x DD
      1x Sub

      And I rolled like crap. :(

      My apologies good sir. I did not notice this yesterday. I will get through the Germans turn right away. Happy continuation. I am anxious to see this Allied strategy play out. What I have learned here is the importance of the TT shuck. :)

      @simon33:

      In vanilla the strafe isn’t that desirable because you want your North Italy forces to hit Sth France and usually one of the art has to get on a transport to strengthen that force. Unless you’re doing a strategy of the Germans using mobile forces to hit Sth France G1.

      I have found myself more keen lately on taking S.France, G1. Depending on what you and Italy are planning, the complex there can be used to put some German boats into the Med if needed. This will typically require a AV purchase G1 so you don’t have to land your T.Bomber on Holland next to two French units in Normandy. It’s not a major necessity for the AV but I don’t like the idea of 7 IPCs worth of French units taking out my 11 IPC plane.

    • RE: Jugoslavian Strafe

      I usually hit with all Inf that can reach minus 1 in Romania that I use to walk on Bulgaria. I use 2 out of the 3 tanks that can reach and I use the Fgt that flies to S.Italy on non-combat, it will stop to hit Yugo on the combat phase. Typically I get around 3-4 hits on the neutrals this way leaving 1 or 2 left for the Italians. Very seldom do I kill it in the first round of combat. Thd Art that can reach Yugo I leave behind as it will certainly kill Yugo if they are sent. This strafe is a perfect tactic if you are planning a G2 DOW on Russia. Retreat to Romania and all those surviving units are there ready for the Soviets.

      Remember, a healthy Italian income is always nice. But in the later rounds of the game, it will be Germany that needs the IPCs more then Italy. Plus, there are ways to cash in on 2 or 3 Italian NOs by the end of Italy’s 2nd turn. However you have to hope the UK player does Taranto and not Tobruk to be able to try and get 10/15 extra IPCs for Italy via their NOs.

      @Wolfshanze:

      Most of us who have been on the forum awhile all know and trust HBG… they’re a reputable company, and I’m sure you’ll find, your orders are safe with them… they are definitely NOT fly-by-night, and you can trust your orders with them.

      I wasn’t posting that because I had any doubts. It was more of a way to prove that they are legit, or so I heard. But I still wanted to test them out so I ordered something small. If all goes well I will “up the ante” so to speak as there is quite a bit of things there I would like. And as far as my order goes, it seems so far so good. I ordered my items Saturday and first thing Monday morning I got a confirmation email that the item is in the process of shipping. Today the order tracker states it has arrived at the “Origin USPS”.

      Hopefully it can be repaired or something. As this is my first PBEM game I’m not too sure on steps to follow to fix this. If we cannot move forward I won’t call a draw and will say this is a Allied victory. I hope there is a way to move forward though.
