Just finished Russia Turn 2. They are slugging it out hard with Germany and stalemate seems to be settling in around Ukraine. I feel good about Russia so time to get frisky. Bought a strategic bomber, and an airbase I dropped in Caucasus. Never see Russia buy an AB but this location opens up so many possibilities as you reach so many spots with the extra space. It can reach Calcutta, Germany and Egypt in 4 moves.
@dazedwit Oh, and do you attack Syria with planes and couple guys?
Do you send the plains back to England or send them to Iraq for defense if not attacking with them?

I’ve been thinking for years to counter Middle Earth as I refused to believe it was unbeatable. I have no one to play with so no ability to try them out.
So I set up the board solo and working out my strategies for beating Middle Earth.
@GeneralHandGrenade I followed your tactics for UK. Here is a pic of the end of Italy Turn one. Do you still buy the factory and naval base turn two? What is your reaction to this Italian group right on your doorstep?
Germany Turn 2 completely altered this area. I lost two strategic bombers to clear out the Cruiser off Malta, and the planes in Trans Jordan - I need the fighters to reinforce Syria, and the planes need something to do, and most importantly I killed those planes before they could fly back to India as I’m sacking it turn 4.
Russia turn now. Japan is going to do something crazy next turn. I’ll come back with picture of Japan Turn 2 to get your answer on the factory and naval base in Persia
@AndrewAAGamer I’m on that chapter in the rulebook - says nothing of what you are showing. If it did, I wouldn’t have had to start this thread. Thank you for this.
@AndrewAAGamer I think I just realized the confusion on my part: repairing the complex is immediate
I guess I applied that to upgrade
I’ve always assumed that if you pay $20 to upgrade a minor, it goes immediately into effect and you can place units there that same turn.
But I’m reading the rule book and I don’t know where I got that from?
I googled it and apparently this question hasn’t been asked before?
So do you have to wait until next turn to place units, or can you place them immediately?
And can you point me to source for answer.

I’ve been working on this idea and pretty happy with where it’s at. My phone is my computer so it will be a while to type out the rules. So here is me trying to talk out my ideas. Please give me any suggestions, and hopefully people give it a shot to see what works and what doesn’t.
I just watched and noticed 3 spots where I left out a rule or didn’t explain well enough. Please let me know if you spot those, and especially anything else like that.

@cdatkins74 thank you. Not sure on what video I make next. I just got a delivery of tiny magnets, but my stands are trash; maybe when I figure that out I’ll make my own flight stand video.
I’m currently working on two expansion sets that will eventually get videos. I’m still trying to flesh out final details so I might make a video of what I have so far to ask for suggestions.
I also need to navigate the world of making new items for the expansions. I keep reading, “3D printing,” but that means nothing to me.
I’m from Massachusetts (South Coast and Cape Cod Canal areas). I started playing A&A in the mid 80’s. Played like a maniac in the mid 90’s, and then only rare times for the rest of my life, usually with people who have never played.
I own original (two copies), Anniversary, and Global.
I have no one to play with. I watch YouTube videos and finally opened up Global and set up and started reading the rules.
I love the customizations in all of the videos so I just started my own customizations.
I’ve visited this site for many years but only recently signed up.
I’m a big fan of @GeneralHandGrenade and I was the winner of his Viva La France contest. The French set came in the mail today so I decided to give making videos a go. I started customizing recently so I included that in the video.
