I customized my own set of dice:
Red dice have one point on one side.
Yellow dice have two points each on two sides.
Green dice have three points each on three sides.
Blues dice have four points each on four sides.
=> Maximum effectiveness, but a bit of work :-D
I wish you had five colors instead of four.

I agree, nobody should claim that something is superior to something else when it’s so subjective. However, do I at least get credit for being first? I’ve been thinking about using 8 sided dice to expand attack and defence values for more than two years while everyone else kept thinking about 12 sides.

_Young Grasshopper, with all due respect you are not equip to modifying existing units, or adding new units to the game. You need to use the ENIGMA (vann) FORMULAS to do that. I’ve been doing this before you ever got into A&A. If you want to make the game better like I do, then we have to all work together. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT YG, YOU HAVE A FLAWED SYSTEM!!!
A lot of people are sick, and tired of the six sided dice because it lacks breathing room for new different units on the board.
So I challenge all of you to produce A&A games with one of the dice systems. 8D, 10D, or 12D…
In this way you can add new different kind of units to your game.
I myself am working on a 12D system for the A&A games.
Have fun with this challenge.

I’ve purchased Global 1940.2, but realized it’s going to be too overwhelming for my kids to learn.
We played 1941 a couple times over the Christmas break, but I’m wondering which would be the best intermediate step for them before going Global - AA50 or 42.2 (or other - I have seen 42.1 being sold fairly cheaply)? Or should I try to just do Europe or Pacific 1940?
They are still elementary schoolers, so it will be a few years before we get to it. :)
All depends on their mental capacity. I taught a five year old how to play Cantan. The youngest age on the box is 12.

Dont forget d20 rolls twice as much. When I roll my d100 s it takes like 20 seconds to stop rolling.

However after he set his game up, 24 hours later his game boards was warp a quarter of a inch.

Here’s a thought, where there is a partisan attack it freezes one unit in that territory for one turn.
