      You can go all out though, and be really safe about it.  -Normal Way-

      G1 Build:  1 Destroyer, 1 Aircraft Carrier, 1 Transports, 1 Bomber  Bank 8

      G2 Build:  6 Transports, 2 Bombers, 1 Fighter

      You’re fleet is safe… but, looking at a 57% chance though.

      Scrap the AC and DD for 2 more transports turn 1, and you’re sitting at 91% chance victory.

      This is a serious question because I am inexperienced.

      What about the UK planes?  And the French plane if he feels like suiciding it to finish something off?  I guess I would do what I said above and buy more planes UK1 seeing that you didn’t buy any more navy.  So that would be something like 5-6 planes.  So a BB, CR and 3 scrambled fighters versus the royal air force and maybe a French plane on UK2 and F2 respectively.  I’m also assuming that the UK navy was wiped out G1.

      I have to say though, this really has me thinking.  Maybe something in the middle of a heavy G1 navy buy like a couple of DDs would be better?

      Just to hit 3 transports?  German 7 Transorts will be more than enough to finish off UK with no Fighters.  It’s a trap for the UK to actually think about hitting the transports with it’s airforce.  I would rather go through 3 transports to hit planes than 22 infantry hahaha  :-P

      I don’t think it’s realistic to assume that the UK player dives its Med fleet to India if Germany builds 3 transport G1. If I were UK I’d move the Med fleet to Gibraltar and up to SZ 110. Maybe build a few dd as fodder. You would then have a pretty big fleet waiting in SZ110 on G3 and a blocker dd in SZ111.

      Wouldn’t matter, 1 transport to seazone 104 G2 would stop a UK reinforcement.  G3 Build you can reinforce your Navy.

      Afraid of what?  Russia?  I don’t think they’ll be spending IPC on navy.  USA?  50 IPC worth, not in position to attack UK yet.  You’ve built a Naval Base in Normandy, you can land 3 fighters to protect your fleet as well.  Germans know no fear.   8-)

      Edit:  This is assuming the UK dives it’s fleet to India because it’s pretty dumb to suicide on the Italians in Alpha+2 with 2 German planes on Southern Italy.

      How about this build:

      G1 Build:  3 Transports
      Bank 9 IPC

      G2 Build:  6 Transports, 1 Airbase (Normandy), 1 Bomber

      G3 Sealion Attack:  10 Infantry, 8 Tanks, 2 Artillery, 4 Fighters, 4 Tactical Bombers, 2 Strategic Bombers
      Run 1 Fighter and 1 Tactical Bomber with Battleship and Cruiser

      Up against what?  22 Infantry and 5 Fighters?  84% win for Germany.  If UK scrambles you got a 81% chance to win, and you have a 98% chance to win London afterwords.

      USA can take Egypt back, all UK and USA need to do is bankrupt Italy via convoy, and bye bye Europe win.  Japan is fooked because they focused everything on Russia.  Too much USA focus on 1 problem leads to a quick solution.

      However, if you present multiple problems for the USA, then the Axis start to get things accomplished.  :-P

      Wow really?  Nobody has even been complaining about tanks being op.  6 IPC is a hefty number to be buying mass stacks of.  No reason to change this, you might as well buy fighters instead of tanks with this change, same attack 2 more defense and a lot more move for 4 more ipc.  Germany would never see a tank again… and that is not how history was.  :|

      We play every other Saturday for 4-5 hours, don’t really see how that is so hardcore not to have a life Idi Amin.  :roll:

      We’re currently playing for victory cities.  Germany started the game off being defensive, and turn 2’d into Russia.  Russia’s holed up in Moscow, Japan took out Anzac/Hawaii but got kicked out of China (china has somewhere around 70+ units now).  Japan is making as much as USA, hence the long game.  But South Italy fell Turn 25, but the Axis still have options with a dead Anzac and crippled Russia.  Germany still has units to defend, Japan has surrounded Moscow with Infantry train from tokyo on the North Russia.

      I think the game lasted this long because of the bombing runs… double IPC to repair with Alpha+1… waaayyy too much.  Italy has held Egypt since turn 3 though, but lost the Med.

      We’re currently playing a game of Alpha +1 (when it came out we started, we’re on round 25+ now… kinda retarded long imho.), and was wondering how Italy is supposed to keep the USA and UK out of the Med.?  Germany was gunning for Russia so it never went to sea, and Japan had India/Anzac/USA fleets to deal with.  How in the world can you keep the Med. to yourself as Italy??  :cry:

      Here’s what I’d do in your shoes… go to http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=21845.0 and print off the new NO’s and placement .pdf’s.  That makes it easier for your play group to understand what is going on.  (Really it’s not that bad to switch over.)

      Read up on the new changes and you’re ready to go!  It’s just like a patch for a video game, board games like this have to have time to balance.

      I have some suggestions. Screw carrier tilts bring it back to 14 with no tilt and a 1 attack, screw repairing at a naval base, screw 6 ipc tanks bring it back to 5, let people build major IC on foreign territories so the game can go somewhere,

      the rest you guys can go figure out, but the game needs to not be a giant 17 hour turtlefest of doing nothing until america has too much stuff that the axis concedes.

      Your suggestions suck btw.  Alpha+.1 is a really nice setup.  I have no idea why your other players are turtling… but that should give Axis the advantage on Russia.  Which will give them the win… I’m thinking your Axis players suck.

      You guys are trying to hard to figure out what’s wrong with balancing issue of Global A&A1940.  They screwed up with USA.  2 step fix:  USA can declare war at the very end of turn 4 (after collect income phase) and Japan attacking Anzac and India doesn’t bring USA into the war.  PROBLEM FIXED lol…   :wink:

      It’s quite the feat to get Russia the ability to actually TAKE Germany territories.  Russia is most of the time on a defensive strategy.  Most of your changes are making the game even rougher for the Axis powers to win.
