    • RE: Alpha+.2 - How to stop a G3 Sealion?

We played a simliar game, our German PLay was successful on a G5 Sea-Lion and Russia Captured Berlin on R5.  Russia took all the cash from Germany that Germany had taken from U.K…  We quit at that point as Russia could then drive tanks at Japan and Italy.

    • RE: India - What to do with it?

If you want to save India so bad, I don’t think Japan can take it.  Have your transports pick up the guys from Persia (using med transport) and you’ll have a few extra guys (1 from med and 2 from Persia).  Also you can use you fleet to force a sea battle so Japan will get no bombardments, and you can fly ANZAC planes to help defend India.

Also, If it looks like India is attack Japan, what’s to stop Russia, China, Anzac and the U.S.A. from completely destroying them……nothing.  India on turn 3 is going for blind luck and hoping that your enemies won’t take advantage of you while your busy.

    • RE: UK merger income in G40

By gving the entire Economy to London you make it the over all capital and put both the West and the East at risk.  Imagine Sea-Lion succeeding and Germany capturing all of Calcutta’s cash as well.  Not pretty for the Allies at that point.

    • RE: Does anyone have a list of the Victory cities for the game?

      @eudemonist:

I actually wonder about that very decision.  I don’t see why Ottawa would be a victory city unless the game was designed with a strategy for taking it in mind.

Has anybody taken Ottawa?  Used it to win a game?  EVER?

It means you can win the Game without having to capture any Russian Cities.

P.S. Canada produced over 500,000 armoured fighting vehicles during WW2.

If you are Japan and have made an amphibious landing into Persia (with a couple of Tanks) can you then, on your follwoing turn, blitz through Northen Persia (non-activated) to attack the Caucasus?

    • Using a friendly power's transport to make a combat move. I need confirmation.

As I understand the concept of using a friendly power’s transport, it could be as simple as this:

      A) French Infantry and tank load on France 1, from Normandy/Bordeaux into U.K. Transport, B)moved there U.K. 1) in SZ 110.

      C) They unload and attack Holland/Belgium on France 2.  This is how it works correct?

      D) Also for Non-combat moves, it is basically the same, load on Turn1, unload on Turn 2, correct?

    • RE: Lessons Learned Global 1940

I love Mech Inf.  For Russia 1, I usually build 3 Inf. for Leningrad and 7 Mech Inf. for Moscow.  Gives me a chance to get to Leningrad for the Fight.

Mech. Inf. is useful for Japan to attack China/Russia and For Italy/Germany to attack Russia.

      Go Mech INf.

    • RE: How to invade nenetsia from germany??

      Turn 1

      1. Build an aircraft carrier a destroyer and a sub on Germany Turn one and place them in SZ 112. 2) Land 2 ftrs on the carrier. 3) Make sure you have minimum 3 ftrs (or tacs) on Western Germany to scramble. 4) Don’t Sacrifice your battleship, use it to protect your carrier. 5) make sure you sink as much of the U.K. fleet as possible.

      Turn 2

      1. Take cash from the Plunder of France and build 7 transports in SZ 112.  2) Make sure you move your original transport there as well.  3) Make sure you have 8 Infantry and 8 Art (or whatever) to load on to these transports.  (Hopefully the U.K. will build tons of troops to defend against Sea-lion). 4) Keep your Naval screen intact.

      Turn 3

      1. Move from SZ 112 to SZ 127 with loaded transports.  2) Unload into Nenetsia 3) comence laughing.

      Turn 4

      1. Who knows. 2) Question why you were laughing on turn 3.

    • RE: The "Bell-Fey" Manoeuvr

      @Gargantua:

No, you never tell… unless your opponent is so hopelessly new that they are going to lose anyways.

At a table of equals, mistakes are you only winning advantage.  Use them, or lose.

      Agreed.

    • Russia as a landing zone for U.K. aircraft? Confirmation requested.

while Russia is Neutral can U.K. aircraft land on Russia territories.  As I understand it they cannot, but there have been numerous changes so I would like this confirmed.

Also, what is the current set up?

      Thanks in Advance.

The only thing I would like to confirm regarding your answer Calvin is; If ships cannot pass through the Dardenelles without a declaration of war, why can aircraft?

    • Flying over Neutral countries. A confirmation required.

As I understand it, you can NOT flying over strict Neutral Countries without declaring war on them.  Is this Correct?

One thing, as I understand it, is that movement from SZ 99 to SZ 100 (Agean sea to Black sea via the dardenelles) is also is covered under this rule as Turkey, being a strict Neutral, would have to be occupied/attacked/controlled to be able to move through (what I am assuming) is their territory.

Would someone please confirm (or make a correction on) my interpretation of this rule.  Thank you in advance.
