I agree, the balance in AA-50 is is good for both 41’ & 42’ , I really think that some of you long time revised players who have played that game so long that you know it in & out have to realize that this game is totally different from that game. there are so many ways to play it that you can’t rely on any old gameplan you’ve always used. The thing to do play it like it’s the first time you have ever played A&A and just enjoy what a great game it is in all the ways to play it.

RE: Which is better 41 or 42?
I love the fact that you can have 4 different games of AA-50 , both with and without NA’s, we usually trade off every other game so we start out differently every game. But I agree for the novelty of it, 41’ is more interesting right now.

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
You know you can spend $6o for a new video game and not be playing it a month later because you beat it, FMG is willing to go out on a limb for us to make these pieces and I will buy them and also get Larry’s new game and have them all. Because these are lifelong purchase’s, you will have them and use them for as long as you have the games, which for me will be the day I die, and then my kids will inherent them.

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
I happened to communicate with Jeremy today at Field Marshall and he said we will be hearing something in a few weeks. He just hasn’t had any new news to tell us, but he says the pieces project will be done , it is just going to take awhile but that the company is determined to do this project. I was estatic to hear this and thought I would share with you all.

RE: Crazy Game
Well, we resumed the game Sunday and went another 8 hours on it. Now the U.S has tech Chart 2 , 1-2-3 & 6, the Brits have jets & radar, the Russians have chart 1, 1 & 6,& s subs, the Ger have chart 1, 1-3-4-5-6, the Japs chart 2, 1-2-3. The Germans have fought off every force that was thrown at it by all 3 allies and is building up and the Japs are closing in on Russia but the U.S.S.R still has a huge force of tanks and Italy has been invaded over and over by the U.S. and the Brits have taken back most of Africa, now the U.S. is trying to build a Pacific navy again, if this goes on for too much longer we may have to consider a draw. But I think this could be the most awesome game I ever played, by the way it’s the 41’ version.

Crazy Game
I have played a lot of board games in my life but AA-50 takes the cake. the first 10 games were pretty awesome but the last two were marathons, one lasting 8 hours and having to draw because of outside commitments (girlfriend) and the current one I am playing with another long time player that has gone on now for 12+ hours. We are on a break to resume on Sunday.
I am playing the Axis and am hanging on by my fingernails for the last 8 rounds. My opponent has the Atlantic filled with British & U.S ships hitting Ger every turn and also Heavy Bombers for the U.S.
But my Japs have all off the Pacific ( improved shipyards, super subs) all of Asia, parts of Russia and Africa, and just finally Knocked out India and placed bombers there. Now I’m hoping to get H Bombers for them and maybe I could win this thing . Once it’s over I will post the results , but wow, what a board game! -
RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
I would buy it only because I buy all A&A games. I have them all and all the old gamemaster games from the 80’s. The only one we didn’t like was Conquest of the Empire but only because it was kind of flawed in it’s design. We tried to fix it but then got Axis and Allies and that was the last time we played it. But you have to buy each new one so they will keep making them. I would really like to see a Stalingrad or North Africa AA game or Philippines/Leyte Gulf would be good.

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
I wonder why there isn’t more people voting, only 64 ? , I thought Field Marshall wanted to know how many were interested by voting in this poll? . Everyone needs to vote, do it now before we lose them!

RE: Why is 1942 scenario so unpopular???
The 1942 game is just as much fun to play as the 1941 game is. I can never understand, after reading all these forums how anybody could say that this game is broken or that one is no good ,it seems as if there are many people who just can’t be satisfied and always have to complain about something. Larry Harris has created these great games for us to play and I for one appreciate and play everyone of them and enjoy them everytime. There is nothing perfect in this world and you are always going to find something wrong with something if you look hard enough, so I just wish that you complainers would just try to see what’s great about these games and not always look for something you don’t like about them.
