@crockett36 I’m totally fine with no trophies. I do enjoy some casual play. It would be fun to actually put faces to all the forum names. I also just miss actually rolling dice. I rarely actually bust out my boards anymore. I can’t wait for the kids to be old enough to battle lol
@Stucifer @gamerman01 It was a glorious weekend for sure. I was definitely nervous about playing PTV over the board, but it actually worked out quite well. Lots to keep track of, but immensely fun.
North Africa is such a glorious game. It is so much fun, we probably played like 8 games of Operation Torch over the weekend. Swapping countries every time.

@mikawagunichi @Matt-Hyra @Stucifer We played like 3 to 4 incomplete games with the wrong rules lol.
Then i think 2 games of Operation Torch with the correct ones. Allies won both, but it seemed like the Axis wouldve/couldve won the second game if managed better. The above referenced encirclement certainly didn’t help.
I think North Africa is my favorite edition, it’s so good.
I have only played 2 games, the first of which was an absolute slaughter by the soviets. This was to be expected though, as with most AAA games the axis generally lose until the proper strategies are “figured out”. Plus learning game mechanics is a huge part as this game is more unique.
The second game was much much closer, and the germans did win, but there was a relatively large misplay by the soviets (not realizing how operation Winter Storm works) and we had bad weather the first 4 rounds after operation Uranus was launched, so none of those new soviet planes could attack.
Time will certainly tell, but I definitely think the Germans are harder to play and have to blitzkrieg harder than you’ve ever blitzkrieg’d before.
