lol, right, duh! Sorry, anyways, same principle follows then, definitely still build the TP, and build using a 7 unit start-up: 21-27 IPC land unit buy, with the TP, that’s 28-34 IPC, any extras, save, or buy tech/air

Putting those Aircraft to use: Great Britainposted in 1941 Scenario
Okay, since my “GO Commonwealth” strat with the Eurasia IC was shot down by our experts, I’m churning out my more common opening in this scenario:
Say what to Great Britain:
2 CV (28)
2 TP (14)
save (1)
Use the fighters to attack the German CA and TP, then land them on the CV in SZ3
Use the DD (SZ9) and the bomber if needed to take out any German SS if they are still alive, esp handy if they are in SZ21 CV SZ2
1 CV SZ3
What remains of Atlantic Fleet to SZ2
2 TP SZ3America
Buy
3 TP (21)
1 art (4)
2 arm (10)
1 tech (5)
save (0)Move inf on Pacific side to WCa (3 total)
Hold your East Coast force in place. Use the DD if necessary. Deal with the Pacific as you wish, I find that moving your bombers to West Coast will throw opponents off, and will leave a lasting (two turns, I would guess) impression to any Polar Express Japan. Of course, a complete KGF with SBR is nice, but that’s your discretion, of course.
Move both fighters on America to Brit CV SZ2. Haul the American TP off WUS to Panama.Mob All units to East Coast.
Turn 2
GBr Buy
You will have at LEAST 30 IPC, if not more. If Egy wasn’t attacked G1, then it’ll be 37, which is really nice.
anyways, simple math here, You wanna start hitting Europe with 6 or 8 units per turn. start with 6 inf @ 18 IPC, and add 1 for every art, or 2 for every tank, so your range for 6 units will be 18-24 IPC, but 24-32 IPC for 8 units. Either way, you want to maximize unit output, regardless of attack value. With 30:
5 inf (15)
2 art (8)
1 TP (7)31:
8 inf (24)
1 TP (31)
Now, every extra IPC, start upgrading those inf to art, then to arm. So, with 32, it’d be 7inf/1art, 33 = 6inf/2art OR 7inf/1arm type deal. If you only have 30 IPC, then you’ll only have 7 units, but getting the extra TP out there is pretty critical, and has Germany eying the Allies off his coast pretty carefully, even turn 2.Combine your fleets in SZ6, using land units on Norway.
USA
Buy (assuming 48 IPC)
3 TP (21)
5 inf (15) (OR 6 inf/1 art/1 arm, like I said earlier, 8 inf=24IPC, build up to max @ 32 IPC, but with 27 left, only 3 IPC for upgrade)
3 art (12)Move Fleet off East Coast to East Canada, shift the Pacific TP up to SZ10
Shove your land units into East Canada, and mob the units:
ECa = 6 inf 1 art 1 arm
EUS = 5 inf 3 artNow you are set to hit Europe coast with (usually) 16 units, with 4 fighters, 2 DD, 2 CV as a fleet to guard you from the Luftwaffe. Slight modifications can be made to change from less mass infantry to more navy as appropriate with needs for defense against any German builds. Show me some flaws, please! I want to improve this, but I like being able to throw 2 fully loaded carriers at Germany turn 2, with some 4 TP off their coast, and an American contingent in North America.

RE: What country had the best trained infantry in WWII?posted in World War II History
Hmm… no mention on Canadian troops? Perhaps I’m simply biased, but they were really decent troops, definitely the best in WWI, and I think that carried over to WWII.

RE: Choose your Leaderposted in World War II History
In truth, though, I feel that Napoleon and Alexander the Great are very much underestimated, especially Napoleon.
Read up on Napoleon’s work, especially all that he did for the French people. Imagine the effects he could’ve had if he hadn’t invaded Russia… or if he lived longer…

RE: Which Soviet City?posted in World War II History
I’d have to say Stalingrad, since it was so close to the oil fields, and its capture would have had a pretty major moral blow to the Soviets, especially after Stalin’s pronounced interest in the place.

Eurasia STRAT - Alliesposted in 1941 Scenario
Who says what to:
2 IC by Britain (Australia/India)
KJF with America
Stack Persia with Russia to defend India factory
send 3 turn shuck of Russian infantry into China (2 inf ea turn, 6 total)
Russian 8 inf mob into Man Rus2Tell me what you think. I feel that holding the center against Japan and Italy (especially Japan) is the key to balancing this fantasy scenario.
With Britain, save the 13 IPC (or 2 tech, or 1 fig), and act with what you can in the Atlantic. Russia would have to play aggressive, I would feel a 50/50 of tanks and infantry, with 1 fig minimum turn 3.

RE: WW2 V3 - 41 Tournamentposted in 1941 Scenario
Okay. I was simply wondering, because I had read somewhere that Hasbro had notified someone that they weren’t allowed to release it anymore, and it was an uproar on the forums for a little while.
That, and I couldn’t figure out where to get it from anywhere, anyways. But Veqryn has a link in his signature, so I hope to get that now. Sign me up!

I’m sorry, but you didn’t make clear whether this was to be done by PBF with ABattlemap or TripleA, which is illegal.
Can I presume that we’ll be using ABattlemap?

I’ll play against you Scottish Claymores. Although if you intend to use your namesake, this could be easy for me :-P
I don’t care for sides, but I’ll take the Allies. Post Japan whenever you’re ready!

RE: Europeposted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
I thought that there would be 6 territories between Berlin and Moscow???
Also, I feel, as a Canadian, that Central Canada should be worth 3 IPC as well. I’m still really peeved with the introduction of ANZAC and Italy without the input of Canada. Ah well. Such is game balance.

I’m game for another round katfishkris. You can make the setup.

RE: Favorite WWII Theatersposted in World War II History
Italy and France obviously, that’s where Canada’s divisions fought the most!
I also don’t really see France 1940 as a theater so much as an army parade and Rommel in paradise.

yep, it’ll prob be a quintoonie though, or more like it, a quaintoonie.

RE: Analytical Helpposted in 1941 Scenario
There is another way for the Allies.
a 4 TP 2 way shuck between ECa and Fra hitting France on Turn 3, and every turn thereafter with 8 units, not including air units, is a very shocking blow to the Axis.

RE: 1942: The Eastern Frontposted in World War II History
Stalin WAS buddy buddy with Hitler, and Hitler’s persuasive voice had an almost magical aura to it.
I personally think that a big bonus to Stalin in land and conquests elsewhere would have been enough to dissuade him of war.

RE: 1942: The Eastern Frontposted in World War II History
Clear out the pockets and improve the supply lines. I think that taking the Black Sea, breaking the siege at Leningrad and actually relinquishing it, and getting the logistics under control would have made a world of a difference.
My personal choice would have been to sue for peace with the Russians.

RE: 1942: The Eastern Frontposted in World War II History
For all those who want to sit back and wait, you’d lose anyways… each year Germany fell further behind in the war effort. Russia herself was outproducing Germany, and she also had supplies coming from her allies. Waiting defensively also had the inevitable outcome of defeat.

It’s worth noting that the U.S. has “relinquished” control of Canada… again…
It seems that every ambitious plan of America involves the peaceful conquest of Canada…
