There is a Civil War Stratego game: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/29286/civil-war-stratego
I know because I own it. As far as recommending a Civil War game, try Conquest Gaming. They have a game that plays similar to an A&A style game. http://conquestgaming.com/divided/

Don’t get me wrong, I love variety in plastic miniatures. But, we must remember that we are not only loosely replicating the fighting forces at the time, but also the economy to field such forces. If the major powers keep getting divided into increasingly smaller subsets, then none of the subsets will ever have income to field enough units to carry on the war.
Just my two-cents on the subject….

Well, the H111 is already the OOB sculpt
This is news to me. I thought the OOB sculpt was the Ju 88. I do like the idea of using the Me 110 for the Tactical Bomber.

Sorry to correct you guys, but the OOB German tank is the Panther, otherwise known as the Panzer V. The Tiger is known as the Panzer VI & the Panzer IV was the workhorse medium tank.
Attached is a profile diagram for a Panzer IV

Here is my two-cents on the subject of bombers:
U.S. Tactical : A-26 Invader or B-25 Mitchell (I can re-create the Doolittle Raid!)
If possible, I would like the fixed nose versions bristling with machine guns!
U.S. Strategic: B-29 SuperfortressU.K. Tactical: The Typhoon
U.K. Strategic: The LancasterGerman Tactical: Henschel 129
German Strategic: Heinkel 111Again, these are only my suggestions on the subject. I’m confident that Jeremy & the others at Field Marshal Games will make the best choices in the end.

I will buy one if I can get enough money scraped together at some point. It is absolutely beautiful!

Hey Russ,
I am curious, do you still have any copies of High Ground available? By the way I love Warlords & I think you guys at Conquest Gaming did some great things with the basic A&A turn system.

RE: The War Gameposted in Other Axis & Allies Variants
I am considering buying the pieces only to add to my exspansive collection of plastic miniatures. How well do the ships sit on the gameboard?

Thanks for the update Bob! I cannot wait to use your new charts when they are finished. These are of much better quality than anything produced by WotC.

Hey Bob,
Just was curious, is there any progress on the set-up charts?
Thanks!

I did a lot of hunting around and never found anything that gave me any answers.

RE: What do we want in AAE40 that we didn't get in AAP40?posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
lame…theirs are all grey and colorful…cant they make them Italian brown? like in the game?
If you had read the posts, those are the test sculpts. The final product will match their Combat Dice.

RE: What do we want in AAE40 that we didn't get in AAP40?posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
The single biggest item I want in AAE40 is that it is well tested/edited before it goes into production. I don’t want to pick up a game that is unplayable out of the box. I’m giving the folks over at WotC one more chance to redeem themselves. Otherwise AAE40 will be the last Axis & Allies series game I ever purchase.

Whatever happened to Strafing Run Games?posted in Other Axis & Allies Variants
I remember when I first started hanging around here (early 2003) there was a company called Strafing Run Games. They offered plastic pieces & decals to customize your A&A games. Does anyone know what happened to them & if they still can be contacted?

Great work Bob! It’s unfortunate though that we have to resort to fans making up for Wizards’ gross negligence with quality control.

RE: Big News!posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I’m sure that an announcement will be made on their website on Monday, including full information on how to proceed.
@C_Strabala:
I’m not seeing anything on the Wizards site about trading my battleboard & more tactical bombers.
My guess is we won’t see anything on there until Monday. Just shootin’ in the dark, though. ;)
I thought Krieghund was saying that it was going up last Monday.
