      On another, somewhat related topic, does the author of this poll realize that Operation Enduring Freedom is the invasion of Afghanistan? The Iraq conflict was codenamed Operation Iraqi Freedom.

      How can a villian be from America Jr.?

      From a fellow Canadian I would just like to say FO!

      Stay classy Great White North.

      At least we never endorsed slave labour

      Now explain to me how this has anything to do with the discussion at hand?

      I actually use the pieces from this old Eagle Games title in my Battle Cry game for special units or just to add some color to the board.

      I’m sorry, but this is incorrect. Stratego is actually of French origin

      Interesting. I am curious, how much these house rules speed up the game?

      @Iphicrates:

      The 3rd edition rules allow submarines to submerge and battleships can have 2 hits. Very good for the Japs!

      Now here’s a question that I have. Have the 3rd edition rules ever been published? Or do they merely exist on the electronic platform of the 1998 A&A computer game?

      I think what WOODSTOCK is getting at for the amount of money he invested he feels that more effort could have been put into playtesting and getting it more dialed in before launching it.

      I couldn’t agree more with this statement. I really feel that there was more playtesting & editing needed before this game was released.

      I’m glad to hear that this is no longer a limited item. I’m still saving up to get my hands on one of these.

      @FieldMarshalGames:

      You can only use the AAA.org link to get the FREE DICE if you pre-order BEFORE they are released.

      I’m sorry, but what do you mean by this statement? Is this the Rommel code? Or how do I take advantage of this offer?

      In my opinion, it seems that Pacific '40 is virtually unplayable as a stand-alone game. In my case I only play it in conjunction with Europe '40.

    • RE: Axis&Allies Risk style

      Seriously. I actually do recommend Attack! to people who want more complexity than Risk, but easier & quicker to play than Axis & Allies. I encourage you and your friends to explore option further. Here is a link for more info from boardgamegeek.com. Enjoy!

    • RE: Axis&Allies Risk style

      I don’t know if you realized it, but the ruleset you described is almost identical to Attack! by Eagle Games. If you want to play Global '40 this way, that’s fine. But it seems odd to pay roughly $120 to play a ruleset to a game that can acquired for under $20.

      Just my thoughts on the subject……

      No, A&A: Europe was released in 1999. Pacific was released in 2001. Revised came out in March of 2004.
