you can chose not to believe in God if you want, he still believes in you

some people find comfort in believing they were derived from pond scum and bacteria (where did the bacteria come from?, oh yeah from rocks), that’s their perrogative.  i choose to believe differently

some people face the hurdles and obstacles of this life with the thought that when this body perishes they feed the worms and that is it, i choose to believe differently

one game with fortune and tactice, one without

the germans tried to hold at caen and st. lo, pushing reinforcments there and only using the cherbourg units already on the board to stall the allies.  the allies pushed strong in the center and used air to harrrass the reinforcment zones, bombers to target blockhouses and 88’s.  as soon as the art was thinned i stacked fighters over the cities to shred any reinforcments he had coming in. slaughter.
it was fun and quick but seems like it will be a repetative game.

Remove that anchor point, remove that myth that was taken as whole cloth from Mithraism

why do you suppose that Christianity flourished even though everyone was trying to kill them off and Mithraism died out?

we played twice today and they were both allies blowouts, are we doing something wrong?  you can still move to the beach if their are blockhouses there right?  i saw another post that stated otherwise but have not seen it in the rules.

      scientifically or philosophically?

haven’t we proven that the speed of light can be changed and does that make einstien’s theorum invalid?

currently the universal constant is unknowable but does that mean it is non-existant?

this is an over simplification i agree but don’t we as humans tend to over complicate things enough already

And Martin Luther repeated that success 1500 years later when he added HIS Pagan elements, Nationalism, and anti-establishment fervor, and created Protestantism, which grew EVEN FASTER than Catholicism….

so a christian faith that derided the corruption of catholic rome was a bad thing?
of course it struck a chord with regular folks who were tired of the twisting of the whole point of Christ’s message

The unknowable and the non-existent are indistinguishable.

does that statement really make sense to you?

even in the face of greater persecution than the Jews faced it stuck and grew miraculous one might say

what is wrong with metaphorically adapting an integral part of solstice celebrations to christianity?  doesn’t God accept usfor who we are and where we came from? (it is we who continually reject Him)

    • RE: Happy Holidays

Pagans didn’t have Holy Days, they had ceremonies, feasts, etc, that coincided with the christian holy days (mainly because we stole them, purified them, sanctified them and made them something worth celebrating, then rammed it all down your throat) but that’s all.

true jen and there is nothing wrong with adapting to traditional festivities that coincide with God’s will (imho)

we cannot be tempted to virtue, only to vice God would rather woo us to virtue through glimpses of our role in eternity
God has given us a means to reunite and regardless of the month Jesus is still that means
God could reveal himself and have us worship out of fear but then it is not true faith
the pharisees had vast biblical knowledge as well, they didn’t get it either

thank you switch, and if it’s any consolation it’s my belief that the majority of “christians”, as well as jews and muslims miss the point as well otherwise your (and my own) experiences would not have left such a negative impression.
