    • RE: Is Luck too big a factor?

my strategies revolve around me ALWAYS rolling below average, so i am never suprised when it occurs (which is often  :-P) and if i do roll above average i am in a commanding position

we have one guy in our group who always expects to roll BETTER than average, you can guess who usually wins/loses

    • RE: Heroscape

yeah, i bought this for my son and it can be pretty fun.  everything is plastic and the hexes are about 1.5 -2 inch.  the combat system is interesting but the dice quality is lacking.  each dice for attacker has skulls or blanks and defender has shields and blanks but the plastic dice just have cheap ink on them and it can rub off rendering them useless :-(
it is pretty simple, but has enough variety if you design your own terrain to have good replayability.  due to the high luck factor involved i generally get creamed :-P

hydra, many people are surprised at how much “scientific fact” is taken on faith and how much “scientific evidence” has been proven a hoax, especially anthropological findings. i could/would provide links if you are truly open minded, but from the tone of your posts you do not appear to be
if i am reaching a false conclusion i apologise

the problem from the creation side of the argument is too much unnecessary stubbornness in some area as well  :-P

    • Russian winter vets

players in the kenai, AK area (anchorage too)?  i am building a group for ftf play and currently stand at around 6-8 (+4 anchoragites), we have all the a&a games (except bulge–-yet!) so enjoy the possibility of multiple games at once, kind of an alaskan gen-con if you will

    • RE: Australia IC

the advantage of an aussie complex is that japan can’t really use it against you after they capture it and it could divert japan’s resources away from the mainland temporarily

it can only work if you can extort the out of town friend with photos than draw questions about his socio-political stance

    • RE: Minor/8 Point Victory, revisited

take and HOLD for one full round (like d-day)

the idea of VC scoring to to have a desperate fight with the forces available at the time.

we do the one round hold and it works quite well

    • RE: What is the Point of Short Games?

would you really have to give the axis additional vc’s?  i don’t think so, 3 per country and capture three of the enemies (while holding your own) or i guess eastern europe or ukraine and what, okinawa?

    • RE: Lunar coverup?

yeah, amazing it could even get ANY traction, but there are always nut-jobs or non-comformists that just HAVE to take an unrealistic side to any argument.  we had 12 people in my department, most with B.S. (how appropriate ) degrees or higher and 3 claimed the conspiracy angle.  i was slightly disturbed and frightened by the results, but most of them were younger and werent’ around when apollo was rockin’ :|

I believe most knowledge from the old days was burnt on purpose in alexandria by the mongols, by urging of catholics and most today is in the sealed vault basement catacombs of the vatican.

i wasn’t aware the mongols were puppets of the pope (popettes  :?)
