      How about limiting each IC to being attacked twice per turn? (by bombers and rockets)

      If I understand things correctly, that is how the rules work already, you can bomb and rocket each factory in range: max damage double icp value

      Instead of this: Gain 5 IPCs if Axis powers control at least one of the following territories: Hawaiian Islands, Australia, and/or India

      Japan’s 3rd National Objective should read:

      Gain 5 IPCs if Axis powers control at least one of the following territories: Hawaiian Islands, and/or Australia_

      great idea, or make it two of the three (HI, Aussie, India)

    • RE: NEED SUB HELP, ASAP PLEASE

      I feelthat you should be able to leave it on the surface and soak a hit for your cruiser, but the rules seem to indicate no, your baltic fleet is toast and your sub is auto submerged.

      if japan was not allowed to attack china first turn or china went “first” then  germany, etc I think that asia and thusly the pacific would see a change but not too great of one. I am going to suggest this next game to my group.

    • RE: AA50 Rules Errata and Q+A

      My fleet consisting of BB, SS, etc is attacked by air only, since they are MY subs why can I not order them to stay on the surface (fodder)?

      @critmonster:

      subs
      it says they can submerge instead of fire without a DD present, this is why planes can’t attack them alone. But do they HAVE to submerge? Say you hit my fleet with air, can I leave my subs on the surface to soak hits for my CA,BB,CV’s?

      @Krieghund:

      No. Air unit hits can never be assigned to subs unless there is a destroyer friendly to the air unit(s) in the battle.

      That is lame IMHO. if the subs stay topside why can’t the air fire on them? sure would be nice to have that fodder unit for naval vs. air engagements as well

    • RE: Is Luck too big a factor?

      the dice are the dice
      they have won me games (occasionally) and they have lost me games (every loss  :wink:)
      without the potential ‘fluke’ results the game is little more than chess (which is great, but different)
      i agree that the early ‘out of norm’ result skews the game more dramatically, but that is the challenge sin’t it?
      i also think the small battles that have bizarre outcomes (lone transpot takes out brit dd and cv for exapmle) are more devestating than the large ones taht you can retreat from and regroup.

    • RE: What would you pay for a 2/1 unit?

      i think i read in the house rules that one group was doing art as a 2/1/1 for $3 to simplify life.  i agree with the cost analysis.

      a 0/0/0 uit for $0 anyone?  call it the stalin strat “we have more people than you have bullets”  :lol:

    • RE: Practical Counter to Pearl II

      if the us can sucker japan into a naval buildup it is allied victory,  if japan can sucker the us into a naval buildup it is axis victory

      does this make sense?  i think it does but then again i have to consider the source  :mrgreen:

      i agree with froodster (shocking i know  :lol:)
      what is the point of winning the battle if you get wiped out in a counter and it costs you the war  :?
      i think the art of strafing (especially in europe) is often the deciding factor.  too bad you cant retreat non-amphib’d units when doing off shores :-(

      well, when your bomber squadrons are destroyed by a fat merchant marine with a .45 that is not a lack of skill.  a lone transport is just what a bomber is looking for.  but those things happen sometimes :|  just be grateful it isn’t real life, set 'em up and try again
