    • RE: Indochina Bomardment on UK1?

      @habs4life9:

      This is a question more for Krieghund than anyone else. Let’s say I am UK and I want to hit Indochina in the first round. I have a cruiser in the India sea zone, but in order to use it for bombardment, I need at least one seaborne land unit to land in the territory. There is also a transport in the India sea zone. So if I wanted, would I be able to load one inf onto the trn and say he’s going across the Bay of Bengal, (thus allowing me to use the cruiser to bombard) while the other two inf are crossing overland? Because it says nowhere in the rulebook that if you CAN go overland, you HAVE to. So what is stopping me from saying my tranny is bringing one guy across the Bay of Bengal?

      Nothing is stopping you, go for it.

    • Waiting to buy AAP40

      I’ve been happy with AA spring 1942 but i really want to get AAP40. I have been hearing about all the map errors and rule book changes and lack of tactical bombers. I don’t know anything about how this game is produced/printed but will the game ever be printed with corrections? Or will any version on the shelfs over the next years still have these issues? I am willing to wait.
      -Thanks

    • RE: The perfect game…

      I’ve played about 8 games of spring 1942, and every time the axis loose. Both being skilled players and alternating sides each game we cannot pull off an axis victory. I know there are bid systems or advantages we could add, but i think a good game shouldn’t require that. I will add thought that i have only played the game 1 vs. 1. So the allied player can perfectly coordinate the allied effort in a KGF strategy. I’ve even pulled off a KJF game with the allies just to shake it up.  Perhaps a 2 vs. 3 game where each nation is looking to win overall with highest increase in IPC would be more balanced for the axis.

    • RE: Sub vs Sub one on one combat

      My interpretation of the rules is the attacking subs gets its first strike roll. If attacking sub hits, the defender is immediately destroyed. If that roll misses, the defending sub can choose to submerge instead of rolling for defense.

    • Capturing Capital Questions

      In a recent game, Germany managed to sneak attack Britain’s Capital from the Med and managed to take it with a few men and tons of fighters/bombers. I collected 34IPCs plus the 34IPC UK had on hand. The UK immediately after sent absolutely everything back and attacked Germany’s capital. Despite having over 25 men on Germany (Germany was in heavy defensive mode) Germany lost its capital. Britain now claimed my 68 IPCs without a capital. UK is now in no shape to reclaim their capital, and Germany still holds it, are those IPC basically lost? (UK will not be liberated and Germany re-took its Capital)

    • RE: Variations of set-up

      I know after the first round the game can vary, I was just tired of the Japs killing the Hawaiian Island fleet every first round and having the same pieces to work with, just an alternate set-up would perhaps make the game feel fresh and even more fun setting up the game. I know everyone on this website will hate me saying this but setting up RISK is more exciting with the random assignment of territories, each game is completely different.

    • Variations of set-up

      I’m new to Axis and Allies 1942, I have only played the old computer version of the original 1984 edition and am now loving the updated 1942 board game. I’d like the anniversary edition but will not pay for it.  My questions is has anyone ever created variations to the set up of the game? I know the setup is supposed to be historically accurate, but its boring setting up and playing the first round the same way every time. Any links or alternate unbalanced set-up ideas would be great, thanks.
