Also you won’t find a TripleA map related to AAZ.Holy Cow! Heh heh, maybe it was just me, but I was really just thinking in terms of their being one or more computer versions of the various A&A board games contained within TripleA.

@Colt45-554 Interesting! How many different games are there in total? I’m definitely interested in classic games, as I’ve played them before and enjoy them. For all the others, I’m going to want too have the physical game, and a place too set it up, before I start messing around online. Sounds like next month, I’ll have my work cut out for me.

Hello everyone, I’m new and trying to hook up with willing foes, but unless folks are willing to play classic, I have no experience with any other version of A&A, and so would most probably be a waste of others gaming time.
That being said, I wonder if there is a format for asking for a game, and listing which games I am interested in playing, as well as listing the games I have played, and how good/bad I am at them.
Right now, I’m looking for classic players to play over TripleA, as I have at least some years of playing the classic A&A board game. I also just got the Anniversary Edition, but have not even read the rules yet, so Have no experience with that game at all.
So I guess my Gaming resume would be something like this:
Game Type experience playing which version/editions? rating is tournament play other Classic TripleA 30+ years board game 1 week 1st and 2nd editions and TripleA Never Played Never Played notes and stuff. Anniversary Edition Not played it yet OOB Never Played Never Played A&A&Z TripleA Don’t have it, yet is there one, yet? None Never Played Never Played G40 TripleA Don’t have it, yet Not tried it. None Never Played Never Played Is this a good idea to post what I have done, or would this be a distraction? Anyway, what I meant to ask was, which games do I need to get, in order to be able to find opponents here? Axis & Allies & Zombies is in the works for next month, but G40 is still a ways off.

I just got Anniversary edition, and opened up the box for the first time today. While I cannot say that I’m ready/interested in playing this game right now, after I have a bit of time to go over the rules and setup the board a few times, I’ll probably have some questions. If interested, we could set up a time for you to ‘walk me through’ the games rules and sequence of play. I used to play classic, but until I got my new game yesterday, and actually opened it today, I have never played any A&A other than in person. If you were willing to play classic using TripleA, we could get a game this weekend, but I’m not yet ready to fumble around in AE until I know the rules.
I’ll probably want to try my hand at the TripleA version of the Anniversary Edition a few times to get the hang of things by playing against the AI’s, and once I can win against them, I’ll be open to playing folks.
Would you be interested in playing a brand newbie, in a week or three? Or do you prefer more worthy opponents? :relaxed:

@SS-GEN Right now, the only game I’m getting to play is TripleA’s version of classic against computers, and they almost never buy BB, except the USA, and that might just because I have the setting turned on for 2 hit BB and auto repair at start of turn.

Right now, I’m struggling to stay awake long enough to get my wallet back, So I cannot really think straight. After work tonight, I’m going to try to run through some combat situations and see how they work.
I’m hoping that air forces cannot just wipe out navies with impunity, but also don’t intend to make navies invencible, either.

As I understand it, the G40 map is what, 32" by 70"? So if I get that next month, it will fit, but not with any other maps being able to be setup at the same time.

@SS-GEN Heh heh heh, I’ll still be limited, like the Panama Canal, to a maximum size that will work in my home. I live in an apartment, and floorspace is at a premium, so even if I build one that allows it to fold up against the wall, its still going to be no more than 3’ deep, and 8’ long.

@SS-GEN That is a very nice map, except for the table over S. America. Where is that from? My own thoughts, are centered on a re-release of Classic, in what I’m calling “Classic: Colossal”, which would basically be the original game board, but blown up and printed across three regular boards. I have a poor man’s design concept on my desktop as we speak, let me post it here. Just a sec…
Here we go.

A much bigger map, by my guesstimates, somewhere right around 36" by 60", so 3’ X 5’, which will fit nicely onto my gaming table (Once I get off my @ss and build it) of 36" by 96", or 3’ X 8’.
I should probably explain some things.
In the first image on the left hand side, is a scale image of a regular board, that I’m loosely assigning 11" X 20", while the other, three new sections, 12" X 20". And when unfolded the classic comes out at ~ 33" X 20" for the original, and 36" X 60" for the combined new “Colossal” version. Looking just at the territories controlled by Germany, in scale to the Original, there is something above 3 times the surface area on the game board, so no more overcrowding. One thing I didn’t do, yet, is remove the blow up boxes. With the board being 3 times bigger, I see no need for them anymore! -

@SS-GEN To be honest, I have not given that aspect any thought at all, as I have had no chance to playtest this out in an actual game, and so don’t know if that is a good/bad idea, and what level of detail folks are going to want to do too have to keep track of.
The other thing I’m working on, is doing a YouTube video, and showing what I have in mind for construction times. The game is at so an abstracted level at the moment, that I want to add things in, but still want to ‘kiss’ as much as possible, and what I have in mind might just be popular if easy enough to implement.

If thats not what you want then basically you just gave ships more hits.That’s the general idea, as I have never had the opportunity to playtest any of this out, and so have no clue how (or even if) this will work out in game. After playtesting, this whole thing may get scrapped as to complex/adds nothing to the game. And by the way, thanks for helping me out with this!

Yep, I’m trying to develop a way for germany to build cheap ships to attrition UK/USA/USSR navies, so the game can (maybe) restored to balance and once again become a popularly played game! Crosses fingers…
