RE: CHEATINGposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
:x
Anyone here played Bung lately?
He pulled the, Carrier to an exposed forward position to get more range for his fighter, then did a delete move for the carrier. After the battle, the fighter having survived, he withdrew the carrier even further away! I notified him of this mis-movement, and his reply was,“Aw, you’ll live”.
I informed him that delibrately bending the rules was not acceptable. He replied that the carrier would not be a problem for 5 more turns. I’m not sure what that ws supposed to explain, but I resigned from the game.
I’m just curious if anyone else has had this done to them in games recently :? -
RE: Solution to the LL vs ADS Debateposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Well Jen, you have over-complicated LL again!
Until you play it ,
you shouldn’t try to sway it.
It really is quite sweet,
to intice us to compete.
while the luck is still enough,
to fear the risky stuff.
It doesn’t sway the way,
dicey makes your hair turn grey.
Now I’m not one to banter,
one to critisize or cry,
but dicey is for those classic players
who only know to live on luck or die.
Where Low luck is for the new strategists,
with the cunning of Plantangenists.
It is the future of dice gaming,
it is here, and it will stay,
and become more popular
every gaming day.
Embrace the future
or be confined to an ever deminishing group of old players.
Change is never easy, especially as we get older.
See you around the LL games! :-Dwho calculate and

:-o
I coudn’t agree more. But, I guess it would take to much print to say," keep the overland units seperate from the Amphibious units, during the combat phase, etc…etc…etc…
Sometimes the rule makers just get tired I guess and oversimplify a condition, rather than take a chance of over complicating it. Who can fully understand why they print these things, then have an erratta sheet all ready to go before the game even goes to print. :? -

OK Mazer, I’ll give you a negative Karma for Typing in YELLOW print.
You could have written anything, there is no way I could read it. :|

RE: Japanese believe in extra-terrestrialsposted in General Discussion
:-o
I just wish they would come out in the open and proclaim, “Here we are, now deal with us”. But until they are bold enough to do that, people will continue to question their existence. I for one have seen things in the sky that I could not explain, And I have a long history around aircraft. 18 years with my Dad who was in the US Airforce, and 24 years in the US Naval Air. I’ve seen just about every plane there is, including airships, missiles and rockets.
But, until I can walk up to a genuine Flying saucer, ( any alien built interstellar aircraft) I will continue to have some doubts that Intelligent beings from another world are visiting us. I have no doubt that there are other worlds with beings that have higher intelligence, but I have doubts that they can travel the great distances between the stars, at least not in the physical state. -

RE: New to Game; New to Forum–> I GOT QUESTIONSposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
:-)
One clarification, once you begin a battle, you must finish it. Win, lose, or withdraw after the completion of one or more rounds of combat, (attackers choice).
Then you can move on to the next declared battle of your choice.
As a new player, you will probibly have a few more questions, so feel free to get the answers from these friendly folks here and on other sites dedicated to
Axis and Allies games.
and as I hope for everyone,
Good Luck, and
Happy Gaming

RE: AA gun movementposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
:-)
If the second part of your question was, " If my AA gun defended in the combat phase can I move it on my (next) turn", then the answer is, of course you can.
Personally, I’d like to see AA guns be able to move in the combat phase, and attack defending aircraft. It would be very realistic to actual combat, and I don’t think that it would change the game that much, they rarely hit anything anyway. Well mine don’t that’s for sure
Remember, the more you play/practice something, the better yu will get at it.
So, play often, and play well.
See you around the game room. -
RE: Standard Russian openingposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I’m pretty much settled into a rut in this. I have tried just about everything, even not attacking on R1. But I like the 1 tank, 1 Artillery and 5 Infantry buy. Then attacking the Ukraine with everything that can reach, and attacking West Russia with everything else. If I can, I will leave the German fighter in the Ukraine, and retreat my tanks to the Caucuses for later attacks.
IMO, this is the best use of R1 resources.

Go ahead Jen, make funny, but someday you will try playing it and as much of a diehard as you are for your beloved BattleMap, you will like TripleA, because it feels more like actually playing the boardgame. :-D -
RE: Russian Navy!posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
:-P
A russian sub built in the Caspian sea would be more entertaining and useful. Your opponents will either be unable to continue due to uncontrollable laughter, or fear that it must be some kind of crazy trap.
Anyway, a DD and 3 transports might work in the late part of the game. Something to keep in mind.
Aretaku, thanks for sharing. -
RE: The Christmas Truceposted in World War II History
War, for the troops who are actually doing the fighting, is not about killing, but rather about surviving today and seeing tomarrow. All soldiers want peace. and Christmas day is the day that christians celibate the birth of the Prince of Peace. :-)

RE: Different Rules for IPC.posted in House Rules
8-)
I really like your idea IL on how to handle combat orders with headquarter units allocating resources to the front. But I am not certain that the best way is to have free points for each HQ, above one that is. I think, that it will help keep down unit buys somewhat, if command points should have to be purchased just like units, etc…
Example:
Let’s say that Army Group North wants to attack Karilia with 8 units. during the buy phase, AGN would have to buy X number of command points to put their troops into the attack mode. For the sake of my example, it costs 1 point for every 4 units that are to be moved. So, AGN has to buy 2 IPC to “get er done”.
Sure, it adds a little complexity to the game, but I think that we here are willing to go that little extra step to get a better game.
Also, the -1 /+1 due to weather is brillent! But when is it winter? Every odd numbered turn maybe?
And the truck tokens for moving infantry and artillery is cool too. How much do you think they should cost? 2 points each?
Oh well, that is my 2c worth, hope someone else likes it.

RE: Guadalcanal Combat system for AAEposted in House Rules
:-o
I came up with a simular combat system many years ago. It was simpler, and random, every player rolled two dice, the highest moved first, (ties rolled off against each other). First all players did their buys. Then, in order, their combat move. Once all combat movement was completed combat was resolved in the same order. After that, everyone did their NCM and placed their builds.
I liked it a lot, trouble was, I couldn’t find anyone willing to try it. Too damn many traditionalists! :x -

RE: Christmas Eve Dayposted in General Discussion
Hey all,
This is all you need to know about Jesus of Nazerith, the Messiah of the Jews, ( the chosen one, which in Greek is Christos).
This is how it went down;
About 2007 years ago a child was born to a woman named Mary.
Jesus as a young man performed many miracals, (well documented by all the news services at the time) some of which even the Emperor of Rome heard about.
He professed the “good news” that whoever believed what he had come into this world to teach us and followed the lifestyle that He professed, (that is, how to treat one another as outlined in the Beattitudes) then you shall know everlasting joy in the presence of your Creator.
As was foretold in the ancient Hebrew Tora, (Bible) God sent his only Son to be the final sacrifice that would allow mankind to be removed from the laws of Moses allowing all mankind to be able to converse directly to Him through prayer. So, Jesus was beaten, humiliated, and then went willingly to the cross for crimes that he did not commit.
After 3 days he rose from the grave and was seen by many! He proved that death of the physical body was not the end of our existence. That God had the power over death, and that all mankind had the right to obtain that gift.
How is this accomplished?
By faith, and by the rebirth of the Holy Spirit in you.
Take heed, it takes a brave soul to make such a leap of faith. And the sacrifices one has to make are no less than a change of heart and of lifestyles. Too much for some sad to say.
But for those that do, rest assurd a better future awaits them.
