      @Imperious:

      he does not like that, he wants it the way it is currently. no jr. boards for house rules in every game section. its too much he says

      Thanks for the answer.
      My idea was more simply a single junior board here in House Rule section, and only for 1914.
      (No need to multiply all others because they mostly shared the same basic mechanics. The actual melting pot can do the job if paired with google search tool bar.)

      1914 fans should deserved a more focused board for them to keep up their enthusiasm and share their passion and new ideas for this game.

      P.S. Sorry Corporal for this small derailed.

      One thing I’ve been wondering is why can’t you buy WofTC stuff including Avalon products directly from the company?  Did they screw themselves by signing all sorts of restrictive distribution agreements with wholesalers?

      Seems like a big mistake if they did. Probably contributes a serious percentage cost to the end product. Imagine buying 1940 2nd for $50 right from WofTC. Or replacement pieces right from them.

      Who knows, maybe they are trying to shutter the A&A brand so their distributors let go of their contracts?  Maybe too savvy for them.

      Copy/Paste of what I put in the other Pittsburgh thread:

      Thread Link (in case you want to find this guy, who seems to live near you): https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=41432.0

      Tournament info:

      I live in Northeast PA, so way too far away to make the trek out to Pittsburgh on a regular basis, but there is an Axis and Allies (Revised Edition) tournament coming up near Pittsburgh in July (21-22) of this year. Last year we had about 16 people turn up so you’ll have plenty of players to have a game with.

      Thread Link: https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=41731.0
      Website Link: http://www.boardgamers.org/

      Let me know if you want more details and I can re-post them from the other thread ASAP.

      I have been contimplating going for Tech Chart #1 on G T-1……I think Advanced Artillery or Improved Mech Infantry would make a huge difference. I usually never go for it but thinking why not give it a shot. Has anyone tried this?

      to answer why im not attacking the US fleet off Hawaii……just too much risk at this point and have more die points in range of the Carolines…im waithing for him to move away from Hawaii where id have more die points and more ships in range…besides its the start of T-4 and i have China completely out of the game and gonna start harrassing the USSR. If he moves to the Carolines i will strike and if i win that battle convincingly the war could be over.

      a base is soo much more than a harbour, it is all the industry, logistics and support you need to operate at maximum efficency. For pacific it means heavy convoy lines. for europe it probably also mean many rail lines and also alot of gaoline.

      I like the prize at 15. it makes it expesive but worth it to build it in egypt and gibraltar.

      In my games I have seen german airbase in yugo and an italian one in north italy (or is it south that starts without one)

      it is also important for the dynamic, if all the german bombers are in italian controlled ukraine or rostov, an italian airbase there can make the allies less safe on the seas. that extra airbase might mean counterattack with all planes in the north sea or with bombers and finns in norway. Well worth the 15 IPC, but the italians have to save if they have to small income.

      @toblerone77 A bit late to the party here but anyway…!
      The sculpts are made in a lighter plastic than later versions and the Japanese infantry sculpts, for example, really show this. Lots of them have half their helmets missing and their rifle stocks are too thin and are thus often bowed or malformed. Another example is Italian tanks which have smaller and far inferior sculpts to the europe 1940 version.
      This is my favourite Axis and Allies version regardless and I have swapped out all the pieces with better sculpts from other version. Its probably cost me a fortune in potential re sales but I don’t care.

      The only reason i bought this game is for the new sculpts

      @jluna1273:

      LOL, well of all the fine qualities that my wife possesses, patience isn’t one of them. The first Global 1940 game played lasted 18 hours. She’d never seen anything close to what we did, and thought we were crazy.

      Then it’s a good thing for her that, to the best of my knowledge, Larry Harris has no plans to develop a game called “Axis & Allies: The Hundred Years’ War”.

      I always liked the Bulgarian addition to Italy.  Those 4 Inf are useful, but it sort of commits Italy to covering Romania for German advances in the North which generally means a stream of Mech coming from N.Italy to Romania.
