Thanks guys! I’m just worried about the Japanese fleet.  Its massive but we also have a huge fleet.  We shall see what happens in a few weeks.

I hope your right about a allied win lol.  Yes Italy is out of control right now.  I did the Taranto raid and was successful as the axis didn’t scramble any of its fighters.  It left me with a loaded aircraft carrier, destroyer, and a cruiser.  Germany attacked me with its airforce and I didn’t get one freaking hit on my opponent.  I did attack the Italian fleet in Malta and my cruiser sunk the destroyer but the destroyer took my cruiser down.  That left Italy with two total transports in the med.  Quickly it allowed my opponent to transfer units from the Italian mainland into Africa.  I pulled everyone back to Egypt.  I couldn’t send resources there because it was early in the game and I was trying to build up a defense in Britain pending a German sea lion.  Also the Italian ships were controlling the med.  America was neutral and was concentrating more on the pacific for build ups.  Egypt was going to have to hold out with what it had and Italy was constantly getting units into Africa with those damn two transports.  Egypt fell on round 2.  Then Italy built a IC and it was over for Uk in Africa.

Yeah I prefer your set up.  With the original set up I can never win with the allies.  Anyways good work again and I plan to try your global set ups in the future

It’s really close for sure.  We have the southern islands in the pacific but I fear that massive Japanese fleet in Japan. We also though have a huge fleet in the Caroline’s.  Italy has been great. Knocked me out of Africa :(.  Germany has a lot off units left but they are being transferred from France to Russia. It could take at least two more rounds until they meet the Russians who are building a lot of men.  We hope to get together within the next few weeks to destermine the final results! 👍

we landed on Normandy around mid game but the Germans pushed us out.  By doing this, it allowed Russia to go on the offesnse and take back some of its territories closing in on east Europe.  The Germans though have begun transferring some of its equipment from France back to the eastern front.  As for Italy, they knocked me out of Africa and now are threatening from the south of Russia from the Middle East.  Japan has a huge homeland fleet of the coast of Japan.  We took the money islands and our huge allied fleet is parked off the Caroline islands.  A huge navy battle will take place soon most likely.  Still very close game though.

I played 1942 2nd ed with this setup.  Good job! It was really fun and a close game.  The allies eventually won but it was a great game! 👍

Here’s a video of global 1940 after 11 rounds of play.  At the end we were exhausted and hope to continue the game in a few weeks.  Good times with pizza and beer and many laughs.  We have about 14 guys from our group in the Bay Area California. We try to get together once or twice a month. 👍

Hello, I play pacific 1940 a lot.  I have also played global a few times.  Pacific 1940 second edition is a great game but I can almost easily win every time if I’m Japan and I attack on the third turn.  A new rule was passed around late 2014 to allow the USA to receive a 30 IPC bonus if Japan attacks or declares war on them before turn 4.  This seems to balance the game a little but I can still always win with Japan.  The strategy for Japan is pretty much the same.  Take the money islands, build a minor in French Indo China and Kwangtung and knock out China and India.  Post in the Philippines with your huge navy and three fighters that can scramble and those six deadly kamikizes.  Let Anzac and USA come to you so you can use the fighters to defend at 4 when the big navy battle happens.  Eventually you will be making more than the allies with the money islands NO and the India NO.  You should be around the 70-75 mark.  Then when the time is right strike at Sydney or Hawaii and hold it and you should win as it will be six victory cities.  For the allies, man this can be tuff lol.  You better hope Japan attacks you on turn 1 or turn 4 because turn 2 and especially 3 it’s going to be difficult. 
1:  China:  buy men and hit and run and fall back to the north west of China. You will be lucky if the Burma road is open more than two turns.  Pull back and make Japan come to you.
2:  UK:  pull everyone back to India and just buy men!!! Try to bring your navy down to Australia and unite them with Anzac and hopefully later USA. If it looks like India is going to fall then pull your airforce out and send them to Australia to hopefully land on a Anzac or American carrier.  If Japan hasn’t declared war early then take as many islands in the south as possible .
3:  Anzac:  small ships and transports are good.  if it looks like Japan is going to invade then pull your forces to south Australia because from there you can hit any territory.  Use your small ships to convoy raid or unite with the main USA fleet.  Queensland is a great staging area for the allied navy early in the game.  Also since there’s a airbase there fighters don’t hurt also since they can scramble.
4:USA: the big boy lol.  The problem is when USA is neutral she only makes a freaking 17 ipcs a turn.  While Japan is around the 40 mark and Japan has soooooooo many aircraft at its disposal.  USA I say aircraft carrier early then mainly subs, destroyers, and a transport every turn with land units.  A few rounds into the game get a navy base on the Johnson islands and start combining your fleet with the Anzac fleet and hopefully a small UK fleet. try to take the money islands by sacrificing transports because Japan will have a bigger navy early in the game.  When the time is right move to Dutch New Guinea with your fleet and prepare for the big battle.  Sometimes it’s better if Japan attacks you and sometimes it’s better if you attsck them.  Hopefully you will have a lot of subs at your disposal. If you win the navy battle then Japan is pretty much toast even if they have India and China.  Good luck and let me know how the war goes lol. I am playing anniversary edition on Saturday 😜

I’m currently in a game right now and I’m playing the allies.  I have played 1942 2nd edition a few times and I would say 90% of the time the axis win.  We tried using the Russian bomber bid and it helped a little.  That being said, Stalingrad just fell to the Japenesse.  We are on round 8 and Moscow is completely surrounded by the Japenesse and Germans.  One new strategy I tried with the allies is to send fighters to defend Moscow.  I have now assembled a total of eight fighters with lots of Russian infantry.  The western allies have taken Norway and Finland.  USA has built a factory on Norway but it may be to late as Japan has 20 tanks on the Asian continent and they are all headed to Moscow.  Japan has completely dominated the pacific and has pushed deep into Asia and now Africa and is now cranking out 58 Ipcs.  With the USA I balanced my resources to mostly Europe but some in the pacific.  As we approach the final stages of the war I will either survive or get massacred lol.  At least we having a good time. :)

We are on round 1 and UK has declared war on me (Japan) on his firs turn.  So my question, now that I am at war with only China and UK&Anzac, can I still collect my 10ipc French Indo China bonus?  I’m not at war with the USA, I haven’t invaded French Indo China and I didn’t declare war on Uk&Anzac, they declared war on me.

Yeah I feel you there.  Japan does start off with a huge number of aircraft.  Do you think pacific 1940 2ed is not balanced? Even with the USA 30 ipc bonus?  I love Europe also, I just prefer pacific more :)
