I played a solo match using the boardgame. I don’t think things would have changed if Germany held one more round. The western allies were putting a lot of pressure on them from France, Italy, Western Europe, and Norway. Germany was on full defense mode and pulling every man and material back to the fatherland lol. Japan would have moved into western Russia and other territories on the eastern front, but once USA got the German factory operating Japan was in trouble. I played allowing China to move into Russia. Two Chinese inf were able to escape to Stalingrad. The rest were wiped out by the Japanese forces during the Chinese campaign. I guess adding national objectives is always nice. It gives a little more spice to the game. I thought the set-up was good and pretty even on both sides. Yes I have been following the SF experiment. I also live in the SF area lol. Overall though I thought the game played out really well. If you ever make a 1942 anniversary set-up for the 1942.2 map I would defiantly be interested.

Hey Baron,
just finished a game with your AA anniversary 1941 set-up on the 1942.2 board. It was long and enduring but really fun! I thought for sure that the Germans were going to steam roll the Russians, but the Russian D stiffened at Stalingrad and the Germans were never able to push farther east. Also the western allies were being a pain for the Germans with landings on Norway, north Western Europe, France and eventually Africa. Time was running out for the Germans and they had to eventually pull back there units from the east and transfer them to the west to battle the western allies. Meanwhile Japan was very strong on the Asian campaign. The Americans went all out pacific and both navies were playing a cat and mouse game until the end when Japan knew it was already licked. Japan did take Moscow, but it didn’t matter because the Americans took Berlin the next turn. After that the western allies basically used there economic advantage and started taking back Japanesse holdings on the pacific islands and Asian continent . I tried the turn order you recommended Germany, UK, Japan, USA, and Russia and it played out well. I really appreciate the work you and Argothair and Black elk put on here for alternative set-ups! I always enjoy trying something new. -

Nice Baron! I will give this set-up a spin within a week or two. I recently played Argothair 1940 set up for 1942.2. Loved it!

RE: 1940 Scenario for 1942.2 Map (need extra colors for pieces)posted in House Rules
Just finished my first game with this set-up. The axis won on the seventh round. This set-up plays out really well. It’s like a mini version of global that can be finished probably around 5-8 hours. If your looking for a alternative version for your 1942.2 game, try this one out. I have played a few variants for this map and I like this one the best.

Hey Baron,
I just finished a game with your set up. It played really nice and it was a close game. The allies eventually won due to some amazing rolls by the Russians at the battle of Moscow. Anyways great job! -
RE: New to AAP1940posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Very rarely do I run out of US carriers. I just use the chips if I have more than 4 American carriers. Sometime I just borrow one or two from 1942 second edition or Europe 1940. They are pretty much the same. Europe 1940 comes also with 4.

RE: Chips colors: OOB vs HBGposted in Customizations
Hey my friend! I’m actually in the same situation like you lol. I also need more chips for my global game. I just received some red and blue chips from Amazon yesterday. The red chips are exactly the same as the global game and so are the blue, except they are blue. The reason why I also got blue is because I can use them for bombing raids points or even for ten units instead of five which the red offers. I also have looked at HBG, and plan to order some from them this weekend. According to the reviews on HBG, the chips are exactly the same for global. :)

RE: Standard Bidposted in Axis & Allies 1942 2nd Edition
Yup. I usually get together once a month with a group of guys here in the San Francisco area. Tonight Im solo though. Trying out new strategies. Game report update. Germans already have 11 tanks close to Ukraine. Yikes! Though the Americans already have a nice fleet and are poised to land in Morroco. Next few turns are going to be interesting

RE: Standard Bidposted in Axis & Allies 1942 2nd Edition
Sounds good! Though I do play triple A, I’m more of a axis and allies board game guy. Love seeing those stacks of land units and navies lol. I just finished setting up the board! Got my pizza and I’m ready to rock and roll!

RE: Standard Bidposted in Axis & Allies 1942 2nd Edition
From what I notice from USA turn 0 is it gives the allies a chance but not enough to stop the Germans from pushing into Moscow. Perhaps allow the Americans to also attack on round zero?

RE: Standard Bidposted in Axis & Allies 1942 2nd Edition
Hey Baron,
USA went first and was able to buy and move units but not attack them. The game lasted about 9 rounds and Moscow eventually fell to the Germans. Going to play one more time with this set up and planning to go all out against Germany with the USA. -
RE: Standard Bidposted in Axis & Allies 1942 2nd Edition
Hey Jonathan,
I play with a group of guys in the Bay Area. When we play 1942.2, we give the allies generally a 9-16 ipc bid. I have seen bids on this site even go up to around the 24 ipc bid range for the allies. Another popular bid for the allies was to give Russia a starting bomber in Moscow. A few guys on this site have post new options for the allies for this game. One of them was having Usa go first. I actually tried this one out and it made the game very interesting. Anyways there’s different options 👍 -
RE: Game Reports 122, 123, 124: Bid Goes Higher and Higherposted in Axis & Allies 1942 2nd Edition
Very interesting post. I play 1942.2 with my group in the Bay Area pretty often and I have also played it many times solo. Our bids for the allies range from 12-18. I have only seen the allies win twice. Argothair who played the allies that game defeated me as I was playing the Germans. I believe his bid was around 12 as I recall. He went KGF and performed brilliantly during the campaign. I did also win one time with the allies, though we were testing out some national objectives through a house rule post on this site. Granted the allies did win, but I felt like the National objectives favored the allies. It was really fun though! My conclusion is the axis win almost every game we play. I would not at all be surprise if the allies need at least a 24 ipc bid. I like the idea though of USA going first from a forum you started recently. Though not sure it’s going to stop the Germans from sacking Moscow or Japan from taking India. Anyways we shall see what happens next.

As much as I enjoy playing pacific 40 on tripleA, I still prefer playing it on the board game. I enjoy seeing huge navies clash in the pacific with lots of chips. :)

18 ipc allied bidposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Hey everyone! I will be playing global in a few weeks. I have been given a 18ipc bid for the allies. Any suggestions on where to put my fresh units? I was thinking for sure a sub or two in the med to take out the Italian navy. Maybe the rest to India or Russia? Suggestions? :)
