I noticed you can go from Sz101, Hawaii and San Francisco directly to the Sz around Samoa. From there you can get in two turns to the money islands and Philipines (with a naval base built).
This can be a huge surprise for the axis. Imagine US building up a fleet in 101 ready to invade Europe. When Japan declares war they suddenly converge with the pacifix fleet around Samoa and gong from KGF to KJF.
Plus part is your reinforcements don’t go via Hawai where they can be attacked from the carolines so you can Chuck transports and navy.
Down side is UK Pac needs to buy an Naval base.
Not an all winning strategy but one guaranteed surprise .
Plus if you keep building reinforcements in 101 you can always divert to Europe.
Just a brainfart…

RE: OOB Allies Strategy and Chances for World Dominationposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Hey, I’ve been asking myself the same question, why do axis have a huge advantage. My friends and I don’t have that feeling (rather 55-45 for axis). But we never play with victory cities. Our games usually ends with axis victory when:
- Axis take moscow with a huge amount of troops remaining and Allies have no solid ground in Europe and with japan still going wild)
- Axis have a huge advantage in total IPC revenue per round per player (for exemple when germany and italy have a decent revenue and Japan is still controlling money islands).
I think in the long run (10-15 turns) the allied will gain an advantag (if they gain more IPC per round than axis), so i think most people play with victory cities on the short-middle run (7-8 turns).
But yet again, this is my experience (playing for 14 years for 2 games a month) on the board, i don’t play on triple A.

Idea for UK1posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Hello,
I made a video about a strategy built around UK Europe. In the video i discuss the UK1 move and it is an answer to the old question wether or not there is an alternative to Taranto. It’s a bit like the Gibastion move but not entirely.
We play OOB tabletop without bid.
I’m not claiming it to be thé best move and off course it depends on what Germany buys G1, but i might give the Axis (especially italy) something to think about. -
RE: UK Strategies Other Than Middle Earth?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Yes i made a movie about it:
With the UK fleet still alive and with the factory in Egypt i start buying subs to start convoying Italy and combined with bombers to industrial bomb germany.
I do this because US goes in a KJF so except for some subs and bombers no land units are built in the atlantic

RE: SZ26posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@nolimit That is not true. SZ26 is two sea zones away from Western US (SZ26=>SZ12=>SZ10. so ergo it’s forbidden to dock there.

@crockett36 no i´m Belgian. Cornwallis was from the time the Patriot was coming out😄.
Well the algerian snake gives the luftwaffe the chance of hitting you with everything they have with a loss of 2 to 3 planes.
I ask the questions which occupy my mind since several years😄.
And i´m glad to see you like to try New tactics. -

@barnee buy R1 a fighter and by R2 you can have the entire russian airforce plus tanks and mechs in szechwan so China can keep its ground against a Japanse air strafe and thus retake its bonus on China 2.

RE: Anzac factory Brasilposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@SeaYa i don´t know if it would work. That´s why i asked if anyone had done this.
Anzac taking persia is something i´ve done and which is fun. Especially when India has fallen. -
RE: Anzac Shuck Into Europeposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@FranceNeedsMorePower i´ve done it with anzac. Turn 1 with transport pick up the guy from NZ and move east. Turn 2 take brazil. Turn 3 go with two inf to gibraltar or marocco and buy a minor IC to churn out some subs or ground units. Send in destroyer and cruiser for protection.
This allows for an allied player that comes in between italy and germany. Not a game changer but can be anoying and it´s a cool game.

Here is an idea for a German Strategy -
RE: German Openers and countering themposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@Galendae wouldn´t gibastian be a good UK reaction to it? Converge there with the destroyer from egypt gives you a strong fleet with a destroyer to counter the subs.

RE: Anzac Shuck Into Europeposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@FranceNeedsMorePower yes that is something that i would very much like, a french transport. Around West Africa for exemple.

RE: Anzac Shuck Into Europeposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@SuperbattleshipYamato france has almost no offensive power and no naval projection. But for anzac to have offensive power they should transport the arti to europe which means they can only reach gibraltar on Turn which is too late to make a difference.
My conclusion is that it might be a fun game to do that but not the most efficient use. Same with giving persia to anzac which might be even better than the Brasil move. -
RE: Anzac Shuck Into Europeposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@FranceNeedsMorePower hm it depends on where the US is focusing. If US goes into europe then i would go Pacific with anzac and leave Brasil for the US. If US goes for japan then this can help putting some nuissance in europe.
But i think giving Persia to anzac is more efficient then. Gargantua has a youtube video called the Anzac Express. -

RE: UK Strategy -"Middle Earth"posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@Argothair you don´t need a naval base there bc it´s 2 spaces away from moroco or W Africa. Buying 2 or 3 extra transports is not that an investment if later on (turn 5 ot 6) you stop chucking to W Africa but converg with a built up allies fleet on gibraltar. This is just in the early game when you are at war but are not strong enough to go for gibraltar. You have the fast movers in the US, so why not use them for what they are made…

RE: UK Strategy -"Middle Earth"posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@Argothair no you don´t from Mexico it´s 2 spaces to gibraltar or West Africa.
I said West africa, not Congo. It is within range of the US and out of range of german subs. Total cost 21 IPC on tpt and 6 for 2 inf… you already have the mechs and 2 inf. -
RE: UK Strategy -"Middle Earth"posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@TheDesertFox if axis leave that door open then you go for morocco but our German players on G1 buy fleet and the occasional bomber and sub to keep allies at arms length so Japan can expand. This was just one idea to prevent that arms race but still help UK and you can invest in pacific.
