This is great, thanks, but I think you are missing a fighter in Norway. :-)

RE: What previews do you want?
Close up shots of the set up cards, so we can verify correct setup.
The rule page explaining exactly how pro allied/axis neutrals work.
-
RE: Fav a/a game
Figthers can do it all, attack, defend, movement range, they can land on AC and scramble for defense. There is no piece more versitile or valuable.

RE: What country will you play first
Germany, cause I want to take down France.

RE: How to counter J3 India Crush?
After reading the posts it seems this title is wrong, it should read how to perform the India crush, cause I’m not seeing any counter arguments. Jim any ideas how to counter?

RE: Choose your Leader
Patton of course, who could argue with old blood and guts. “No one ever won a war by dying for his country, he won the war by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his.”

RE: AAP40 FAQ
Along those same lines if the scrambled fighters defeat the naval armada, would they be able to land on the damaged
airfields or would they crash? -
RE: In your opinion, what is strategically your favorite army to play and why?
Japan is my favorite to play because I love navy and airforce. Also I think I play best with them. My least favorite is probably UK. I don’t know what it is but I never seem to play them right. I either focus to much on Asia and not enough on Europe or vise versa.

RE: Larry talks about his Global Game more
@WILD:
Maybe he’s playing by himself, just testing different strats (something that most of us have done). Just think he can say its for work, the rest of us just seem crazy to our families
Yes many jokes have been made at my expense for playing myself.

RE: Ceasefire!
Only in Risk I have asked for a cease fire with an enemy. I don’t see the value of it in axis and allies. I go until they say “surrender” not “ceasefire”.

RE: Which nations will be separate and dedicated Axis & Allies Global 1940 nations?
I like the 7 player split, 1 player for each of the axis nations and major allied nations and 1 player for
all the minor allied nations (France, China, Anzac). Espically a new player, it would be a nice way to get their
feet wet. -
RE: Axis and Allies Money!!
Couldn’t agree with you more, I can’t stand just using the national production markers. I feel like I have to spent it all or else I will lose it. Thank goodness I have money from the other versions of axis and allies to play with.

RE: Question about A&A Production
I hear ya, I was pretty ticked that they were already coming out with a “better” global game than AA50 only a year after AA50’s release. I told myself that I wasn’t going to buy it and just stay with AA50, but the more I read on these boards, coupled with my fear that if I didn’t buy them now, they would become limited editions and then I could only buy them for $500 each, I bent over and bought pacific. Now that I have played P40 a few times, I enjoy it and can’t wait for September (I know the release date is August, but come on it is WoTC we are dealing with) to get E40. Given the extra complexity of the 1940 games and their potential length to play I don’t think I have played my last game of AA50.

RE: AAP40 FAQ
Are you allowed to move an AA gun into a newly captured territory?

RE: China Strategy
In the three games I have played as the allies, China has survived the whole game (Japan DOW J2, J3, J3) using this strat. In the one game I played as Japan, I wiped China out by J3 because my opponent did not use this strat and focused his entire force in southern china which I wiped out on J2 with just my airforce and some good rolls. China lost 6 inf and 1 ftr and Japan lost nothing.

RE: Marines
It has been a few years since I played Pacific. If I remember it was they attack at a 2 or less on amphibious attacks and art increased attack to 3 and they only cost three. Was there anything else?
I meant house rule because it is not included in OOB rules for P40. -
China Strategy
Here is the strategy that I have employed as China and I have been victorious in both attempts. C1 retake Yuannan thereby opening up Burma road and collecting 6 bonus then shift all forces to northern China. By doing this it makes it so Japan can’t use their massive airforce to attack both China and India and they have to either divide it up or focus all on one. Both of which help the allies. Also by focus China in the northern sector it puts them closer to the big money territories and Forces Japan to defend them.
Does anybody else have another successful strategy that they have tried?

RE: India - The biggest mistake in the game.
Japan did dominate the allies at the start of the pacific war. After Pearl Harbor they proceeded to invade Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Guam, Burma, Borneo, Hong Kong and capture Wake (just in December).
In Janurary they invaded DEI, Dutch Borneo, advance in Burma, invade Rabaul, Soloman Islands.
Feb Japan invades Java, Sumatra, (Britsh surrender singapore), Japan air raid against Darwin, invade Bali, and they also found time to shell an oil refinery near Santa Barbara.
March- Brits evacuate Rangoon and Japan invade New Guinea, Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal.
April- Batann death march, and they take central Burma
May- Japan occupies mandalay, and on May 20 they complete capture of Burma and reach India.
Only six months after Pearl Harbor Japan is on India’s doorstep, they controll all of the DEI as far west as Wake and are a stones throw away from Australia. If that is not domination I don’t know what is. The only reason we are able to say we owned the Japanese during WWII was because we broke their code and were able to read their play book for two very important and decisive battles, Coral sea and Midway. In fact the battle of the Coral sea on May 7-8, 1942 was their first defeat in the war, and Coral sea was really more of a draw. The big turning point was Midway and without having broke the code I think we would have lost that battle.
After the battle of Midway it was all downhill for Japan, they were not able to regain the momentum and they ended up getting dominated by the allies. I think the P40 is the same way. If they allies can withstand the initial onslot of Japan the tables will turn and the allies will dominate, just like in the real war.
