    • RE: AAG40 FAQ

      @Krieghund:

      Gamerman01 is correct.  The rules state that “A transport can’t offload in two territories during a single turn” (italics are mine).

      Thanks Krieg!!!

    • RE: AAG40 FAQ

      @gamerman01:

      @ghr2:

      If a transport carried 2 ally units, can those unit off load on different territories both adjacent to the sea zone the transport is in on their nations’ turns? (like if france and uk both had an infantry on an american tranny and america moves them to sz 112, can the uk infantry go to norway on his turn, and the french one go to denmark on his)

      Yes, because they’re on different turns.  There is no rule prohibiting the French to unload to a different territory on their turn.

      That is how I see it too gamer, but another player didn’t see it that way, because the rule states that units from one transport must unload into the same territory.  Just so there can be no further confusion I want an official ruling from Krieg.

      Thanks

      Can the British occupy/ land ftrs and other units in FIC while not at war with Japan? If they can and they do, does Japan view that as an act of war (similar to China)?

    • RE: India - What to do with it?

      I treat them as the sacrificial lamb.  There goal is to take out as many Japanese land forces as possible.  I also like to buy AA guns so that everytime Japan attacks the UK I get AA shots at his airforce.

      I also position navy as blockers to prevent J3 crush as mentioned earlier.  The other goal I have with UK is to help keep Burma road open, espically Yunnan, because Japan needs to control Yunnan to be able to land airforce there after J3 attack on India.

    • RE: AAP40 FAQ

      @flyingkiwi:

      Hi there,

      Newbie to AA so this will be a dumb question (and probably a poorly worded one also.)

      If I move naval craft into a postion to bombard a territory and there are enemy vessels in the same SZ, is the battle with the enemy ships/fighters from CV the only option, or can I also bombard land after winning the sea/air battle?

      Only played two games and am addicted already!

      Cheers

      Any naval battle that preceeds the amphibious landings will make it so that the navy cannot bombard the land.  Also you cannot say ships A and B will do the naval battle and ship C will bombard, all naval units in the hostile seazone participate in the sea battle.  That is why a single scrambled fighter can stop an entire navy from doing a shore bombard because a naval combat must take place to destroy the fighter.

      I would say no, because you didn’t own it at the start of your turn.

      @LittleByrd98:

      “No, it hasn’t been released yet.  I doubt it will be now until Alpha is finalized.”

      What is alph??? :?

      Alpha is the new set-up and rule changes being play tested currently, that will most likely replace OOB (out of box) set up for the 40 series.

    • RE: AAG40 FAQ

      @wilk7011:

      Some more questions:

      Do kamikaze attacks only happen on Japans turn or can Japan just announce Kamikaze as soon as someone moves into the correct sea zones?

      Also does their have to be a plane next to that sea zone for a kamikaze to happen?

      If you dont roll a 2 or under does that count as 1 of the 6 kamikaze attacks or must you hit for it to count?

      Kamikazes only occur if an enemy combat moves into a seazone to attack naval units or a land territory that has the kami symbol on it.  Transports and subs cannot be targeted for kami attacks.

      No actual Jap plane is used or lost to perform a kamikaze attack, only one of your six kamikaze tokens
      Japan only gets 6 kamikazes for the whole game, regardless if they hit or miss.

      Looks like gammerman beat me to the punch :-)

      I have used this move in Europe 40 but not yet in global.  My objective wasn’t moscow, but Novosibrisk to cut off 2 inf reinforcement each turn.

    • RE: AA42 Questions & Answers

      I have another rules question that I am just not clear on.  Lets say Japan attacks
      pearl with 1 sub, 1 crusier, 3 ftr and usa has 1 sub, 1 AC, 1 ftr.  If neither sub submerges then they both get a surprise strike.  How does it work if they both hit?  Do they fire simultaneously or does the attacker sub fire first?  If the attacker sub fires first and hits and US chooses to lose AC, then defender sub fires and hits can the Japs take the sub even though it has already fired (thereby defeating the advantage of the sneak attack) or do they have to lose the cruiser?  If the US chooses to lose the sub, does the US sub not get to use its surprise attack?

      Please clarify.

      Thanks Krieg

    • RE: AA42 Questions & Answers

      I have played all the varients of axis and allies and I want to make sure I understand the transport rules in this version.  A transport can carry any of the following combinations.
      1 tank by itself
      1 artillery by itself
      1 inf by itself
      1 AA gun by itself
      2 inf
      1 inf and 1 art
      1 inf and 1 tank
      1 AA gun and 1 inf

      Is that correct?

      Thanks in advance Krieg

    • RE: Help For New Player

      @basebalp21:

      I am in the middle of my first game we play whenever and do not just sit down and play the whole thing. Any way I’m wondering if im in bad shape im Japan and he is the allies. My income is only about 6 less than the U.S and I am about to capture India which would give me 5 of the 6 VCs having Tokyo,Shanghai,Hong Kong,and Manilla. However my biggest fleet is off of India and i have none of the DEI also the U.S is within strking distance of Japan and Shanghai. My only defense in Shanghai is an aircraft carrier with 2 fighters, and in Japan I have 2 BBs and 8 Inf. Also I am wondering which is easier to take Hawaii or Austraila for the last VC’s and should I use my spending to attack or defend.

      I would pull my AC with fighters back to Japan.  Let him take shanghai, Japan is more important.  I would buy 3-4 subs, and some airforce to scramble if he decides to attack Japan seazone.  Finish off india and send whatever airforce back to help sink US navy.  If US takes Shanghai, then use your navy (2 BB, AC, 3-4 subs, plus airforce) to sink his navy.  Depending on what he has and how the dice roll he should lose a big chunck and you may lose a sub or two since you can take 3 hits (2 BBs and 1 on your AC) before you lose any pieces.
