I’ve played so many versions of this game I sometimes lose track of different rules. Can complexes be built on islands? The rulebook doesn’t specifically forbid it? At least not what I could find.

RE: Axis and Allies 1914 FAQ/Question and Answer Thread
After reading the Kriegs answers thread I had a question about this post:
"Q.
If France moves into Spanish Morroco on Turn 1, no units activate, since it’s a colony, correct? I’m pretty sure the answer is yes but just making sure.A.
Correct."1. So America can basically walk into Spanish Morroco and gain the 1 IPC without having to fight anything?
2. The same rule doesn’t apply for Ethiopia because it has a large symbol on it, therefore anyone entering it would have to fight the 1 inf and 1 art?
3. Are there any other neutral territories that don’t mobilize a force beside Spanish Morroco and the Balearic Islands?
4. Can America take over Spanish Morroco before being at war? -
RE: Axis and Allies 1914 FAQ/Question and Answer Thread
After playing a few games I have a few questions:
1. If a naval ship enters a hostile sea zone are they required to fight? From the rule book I read that the attacker has the option.
2. If an artillery fires a preemptive shot in an amphibious attack does it still fire during regular combat?
3. I can’t spawn new inf and art from captured capitals, but can I spawn new navy from captured naval bases?
4. When liberating a friendly capital when does that power come back? Example: Germany controls Moscow, UK attacks Moscow and it is now contested, would Russia be able to collect income on it’s next turn (OOB rules) or do the Allies have to liberate it first before Russia can collect income? Thanks for the help.

Does the Russo-Japan, Mongolian thing apply to the 42 setup as well?

If UK get war bond tech do both London and India get to roll it or do they only get one roll to share?

Can an AA gun activate a friendly neutral?

RE: Low luck or not?
Medium luck is the best thing that anyone ever came up with to address this.
anytime you are about to roll dice you can choose - Average + remainder die, or all dice.
It makes a hell of a better game, and most of the time, you find that you risk in on the dice anyways!
How does medium luck work?

RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)
I’m not quite sure how this would play out. SZ 6 only has subs and ANZAC amphibious assaults Korea with a transport, cruiser and destroyer. Since only subs are there they are ignored, but Japan sends kamikazes and sinks both ANZAC ships. My question is can ANZAC still ignore subs and land troops or now that escorts are dead they can’t unload? Also would kamikazes make it a sea battle so that now the subs can defend an take shots at my transport since my other surface vessels were sunk?
ANZAC can still ignore the subs. The ANZAC warships were in the sea zone at the end of combat movement (kamikaze don’t strike until the Conduct Combat phase), so they met the escort requirement. Kamikaze by themselves don’t initiate an actual battle, so the subs can still be ignored.
Thanks Krieg!

RE: A leopard might change his spots!
Have you tried a straight rush for Moscow? G1 buy 1strat bomb, 1 sub, and either 2 tanks or 3 mechs. Hit 110, 111, 106, Pais, Yugoslav but retreat after one round of fighting and retreat to Romania (so you will need to bring 1 inf from Rom). Attack Russia on G2 and put everything in east Poland. Also on G2 SBR London with everything you got 3sb on complex, 1-2 tacs on AB and NB. G2 buy is tanks and mechs for Russia. G3 move stack to west Ukraine, G4 move to Bryansk and SBR Moscow and start buying defense for western allies. On the other side don’t attack with Japan until J4. By doing this US is stuck on the sidelines and can’t do anything in Europe until Round 4 (Africa R4 and Europe R5) but by that time Germany is on Moscow’s doorstep and should be able to take Moscow G5. With Italy I have them take S France, Yugoslav, Greece, then turtle if their navy was destroyed.

RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)
After reading the sec Ed rule book I have a couple of questions regarding the paratrooper tech.
1. It says they are subject to AAA fire like other planes, so many question is are the specifically targeted or are they just one of the possible hits that can be taken if the defender roles a 1.
2. Can you use allied airbases to launch your attacks? So can the US launch from England AB? If you can’t use allied airbases than paratroopers is pretty much useless for the US. -
RE: Bonehead European setup?
It is for playability. As stated if the large UK navy survives G1 then Germany is doomed. The second Ed set up is better than the original set up. You have to have the navy because it forces Germany to risk their Air Force to sink it. Even with UK getting killed G1 they can still form up a big navy by bringing the pacific navy over to the med or by joining the remnants of the Atlantic navy with the med navy.

RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)
How would this scenario play out? 3 UK inf and 3UK art are loaded on three US transports attacking western germany from SZ 112, (UK’s turn) with a large US navy in the same sea zone and no UK navy or air. Germany scrambles to defend the sea zone but my question is are the German air able to sink US transports? If so that seems a little strange that the America navy would sit by while one of their transports are sinking. Also since it is an American transport on UKs turn it can’t retreat so what happens?

RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)
Question regarding UK building bases.
1. Can UK London build naval bases for the pacific side and vice versa?
2. Can the two UK economies split the cost for bases, say 8 from London and 7 from Calcutta? -
RE: What is sub stalling?
Sub stalling was a technique used in classic where a sub would stop naval movement. It is the same thing we use destroyers for now, to block naval movement. The rule changed was started AA50 or maybe revised (been a long time since I played revised, so can’t remember).

RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)
I have two quick questions:
1. Can America go for tech before they are at war?
2. Can France declare war on Japan at any time and does that affect any other nation or bonus? -
RE: Get the Brit Inf back in Egypt and a Russian Bomber for 2nd Edition
I agree that no more changes should be made, but I am curious as to why adding a Russian bomber magically balances the game?

RE: Axis & Allies 1941 First Preview
Set up would be great. I don’t care about the sculpts.

RE: G1 Attack on Russia?
Tried the G1 Barbarossa. Baltic states went pretty bad but the Russian counter on east Poland went even worse. I captured Moscow on G5 and allies surrendered round 6. It worked well enough to try again, but the element of surprise is gone on my opponent so it might not work as well.

RE: G1 Attack on Russia?
If the main objective of a G1 Barbarossa is to destroy russian infantry, then instead of doing SBR in Leningrad, take 1 inf, 1 art from Germany and hit Vyborg along with the 2 bombers from Germany. Attack russian fleet with BB, CR and fighter from Norway (incase Russia scrambles fighter). This way Russia would lose 3 more inf bringing the total to 10. 9 IPC from the three inf is more than the 6 IPC max with SBR.
