Game Length: About 10 hours, 4-5 turns.
10 hours for 4-5 turns?? 2 hours per round, do guys take a long time to make decisions?
In our group round 1 takes about an hour, but after that each round only takes about 30 min.

If I may say one positive about having a three piece board and that is if you ever need to move the game (for whatever reason) it is a lot easier move the board one piece at a time rather than trying to juggle a fully connected three piece board.
I do wish there was some way to better connect them during game play.
While I love playing each nation, I voted for Japan because I enjoy naval warfare and the need to be constantly attacking.

If so send an email to cond1024@yahoo.com
I played my first game in 1987 at a ripe old age of 10. I can still remember my first game, I was Germany and put up what I thought was a great fight as a novice 10 y/o player taking Moscow, before eventually losing the game. I enjoyed dominance in my high school years against anyone I played. College years brought new friends and new challenges, finally finding worthy opponents. With each new version the fun and enjoyment of playing grows. I love this game and look forward to playing it for many years.
@frimmel - yes he likes doing games with dad (and mommy) - weekends we tend to play a few games of Ticket to Tide (Europe). We try to turn our little ones into gamer - had quite a sucess so far.
:D
I hear you there, my little one is only 20 months old, but everytime I play I let him play with the pieces and the roll the dice a little so that he gets used to the game and builds happy childhood memories.
Instead of getting upset that it has resorted to KGF, come up with a strategy to beat KGF. If a strategy is developed that will beat KGF 60-70% of the time, guess what, no more KGF.
I don’t know why it warped so bad, the only thing I can think is that I set it up on my kitchen table, which is next to a huge window
and the sun beat down on it all day long. That is the only thing I could think, but only the pacific third warped really bad, the other two thirds was very minimal.
I have used a KBF or at least a focus on Britian first strategy to be successful in revised to counter the KGF strat, but have yet to try it on AA50. How it works is on G1 build naval units enough to destroy the brit navy once. After that all other german purchases are against Russia. How the strat works (worked well in revised) is that all axis nations do a run on Brit land, except of course of E/W canada (out of reach and tough to maintain). The Axis need to take over every bit of UK land, which after turn 3 should be able. At somepoint during the first three rounds Germany attacks the brit fleet with every piece of naval equipement and plane it has thereby hopefully wiping out the brit navy. With her navy gone and her lands gone (only bring in 15 IPC) it makes it difficult for Britain to rebuild, unless America diverts attention from a KGF strat to retake all of these brit lands, thereby buying time for the axis to take on Russia. The remaining IPC that Britian has can be further reduced by German Industrial bombing.
By focusing G1 buys on England it does allow Russia an extra turn to build, but this can be countered later by the fact that Japan, Germany and now Italy can all attack Russia.
I pre-ordered mine online from CGI Armory and got it for $69.99 with shipping it came to $81 and some change.
My board warped bad, espically the third that contained Japan and the US, it was so bad Japan had to build canal locks
to move the navy from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific. What I did was stack a bunch of heavy books on the board and then before each game I slightly bend the board in the opposite direction. This has helped keep the board flat.
Cond1024,
Seeing as how the Axis had one experienced player and two newbies, wouldn’t it make more sense for the experienced player to take control of Germany (or at least Japan) instead of Italy?
Since it was a new game we decided to do a random draw for countries. The other two axis players weren’t newbies, they just aren’t as strategy minded as the Italian player was. We decided after this game to not do random draws anymore!!
Title: Allied Domination (1941)
Date: Nov 25, 2008
Special Rules: NO & Tech
Victor: Allies with 13 VC
Game Length: 4 hours/ 4 or 5 rounds
Bias: 3 vs 3; Allies had 2 very experienced players with a first timer and axis had one experienced player as italy and two less capable players
Description: Japan was very poorly played, only attacking one chinese territory on T1 and attacking Hawaii on T1 (battle lost) and leaving 2 carriers with four planes and a destroyer and 2 trans of Hawaii coast, all of which were destroyed on USA T1. Britian got heavy bombers on T1 and Germany got Industrial Tech on T3. Germany took Karelia on T2, but Russia rolled lights out and only let Germany with 2 tanks on the whole eastern front. Italy was pretty much a non factor.
Axis never took Egypt, but Australia and India did fall on round 4 to Japan, but it was to little to late.
Observation/Rec: This game was over after round 1 due to poor axis strategy and planning. Allies had some great dice rolling on T1 and T2 which made it more difficult for the axis. Japan got very big even after their terrible T1 moves and America focused all attention on Japan having 3 big naval battles with them (Japan won 2 of 3). We all liked the NOs and think the new way of Tech developement is the best method to date.
I agree with the USA as a first time player. Since USA goes last your son could see some play and combat and have time to think on his purchases and combat. Espically since UK and Italy go between Japan and USA ('41 sceanario) so he can think about how to repsond to the Japanese attacks. I think that you should
have another ally play China, so that he doesn’t have to worry about that front and lets him just focus on the USA
